Great for managing to-dos

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can have as many boards with as many topics as you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can take a little bit to figure out how to best use all of the available options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was so hard to keep track of all of our projects and each of their to-dos, and who was responsible for each of them. We tried a few different products before we fell in love with monday.com

Finally! Everything I need is all in one place

What do you like best about the product?
When I want to work on a project, I don't have to waste time searching for the documents, emails, images and other things I need to move it forward. They're all together.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to be able to have emails sent directly to an item on a board, and not just to the board itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I save time! Monday keeps me organized and enables me to move from one unfinished project to another and another, then back again, without losing track of where I was in each project and what the next steps are. For people who work on several projects simultaneously, it's a godsend. No more duplicating tasks because I forgot I already did them. No more wondering if I sent an email or where I'm keeping a certain document, etc.

Amazing Productivity Software

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its simple, its colorful and you can automate almost everything. Add in some nice integrations to other programs and its my favorite tool ever.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't get away from the square layout. It would be nice if you could stray away from the grid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been tracking processes for clients. We do investments. Some can take weeks to finalize after opening accounts, getting paperwork signed, funding accounts, etc. When you have a bunch of these going on at once things can get lost. Monday keeps you on track, you can assign tasks to different members. When working from home its really helped everyone stay on the same page.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for task management software that is easy to use and simple to understand this is a great solution. Fully customizable and you can add automations to most every task. You can tell in a second glance what has been done and what still needs to be worked still.

Review of Monday for project management.

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Upside - helpful to track documents across time. I like that you can insert checkboxes and subsections. Helpful that you can "tag" people and they are notified via email.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downside... hard to say. It would be nice to be able to rag and drop content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management is a huge help. We can set deadlines and visually track progress.

Easy to use system, perfect for remote team project management

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to integrate into your project management flow; our team jumped right into utilizing it for various projects and other business practices like tracking sales leads, vacations, and product launches.
What do you dislike about the product?
It gets expensive with the more people you add into the system. I'd ideally like to add more associates, but we've had to minimize for budget reasons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have many moving pieces with product launches so we are able to track projects throughout the organization.

I love all the integrations and automation options. Being able to create different templates and customize is great and I love how it keeps everyone connected while being remote.
What do you dislike about the product?
I honestly can't say anything bad about Monday.com. There are some integrations we are hoping for in the future but positive we will see them soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping things more organized while being remote, keeping up with sales, organizing marketing, forecasting out, tracking where are time is being spent more.

Ownership

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our engineering project team has started to use monday.com and I love how much it allows me to take ownership of our teams projects. As I grow in my role, I can begin to flex my project management muscles, while our team manager can still get a quick snapshot of where we stand on each project. The multitude of views allows us to take the same information and organize it into multiple different views for reporting purposes. Within our firm, an associate level employee can spend a few minutes on monday.com to get a ton of helpful information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love that you can dynamically link boards back and forth, but I wish there was a way to link from one group in one board to another group in another board. I'd love to be able to click on one group and have it send me right to another. This would be helpful as we try to workshare across offices. Entire boards can be linked to mirror another, but it would be cool if individual items on the same board could link to different boards. Not sure how code intensive that is, but that's one item that has been giving us trouble.

I also wish there was more functions you could do with the math function widget in the dashboard view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team now has real time workload tracking that lives and breathes all week, rather than being something managers only update once a week. This way, since I have access to this info at anytime, it allows me to update my own tasks and status, so the manager has workload info every single day that can help inform our teams decisions and where we use our resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use the trial period and really dive into your workflow with the boards so you can know how it will actually work for your company.

Monday.com Solved most of our issues

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how customizable Monday.com is as well as how user friendly it is. We started from scratch and have built it from ground up. Almost anytime somebody comes in my office and asks 'Can we do x...', I'm able to say yes!
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't necessarily 'dislike ' it. I think I just need to learn more about how to link items from one board to the next. We use it for project management and move pulses from one task/board to the next depending on who owns that part of the project.

Also, I struggle with the dashboards and would love if there was a separate training just for that. It would help us understand it even better than we already do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously we were relying on memory to keep track of where projects were in production. This had the ability to result in missed deadlines. With Monday.com we can now refer team to the database to see where items are at any given time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't expect your first round to go perfectly. We built a foundation, then within just a few weeks completely switched how we wanted it to work. This was easy enough to do. Be sure to also use private boards to start the buildout so that you can practice and test automations before making it live to everybody else.

A truly flexible "work OS" with on-demand complexity to grow with you

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI/UX is simple enough that non-tech stakeholders can easily get involved and participate without a lot of handholding. It also does a great job of hiding complexity so that you can bring it to bear only when you need it. The reporting is best in class- Every other major PM tool out there required a plugin of some sort. Monday was the only one with out-of-the-box flexible reporting that gave us the insights we needed. The unique "Views" feature has let us bring all of our teams under one roof.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is missing some common features that would help it become more useful- Things like being able to cross-post an item across multiple boards. It's also dedicated to being flexible, but that means that things which require some rigidity- like Sprint Planning- need to be hacked in. It's a testament to the tool that that's possible, but ti'd be nice to see some greater support for common agile workflows. The Time Tracking feature is bare bones and tough to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run all of our internal resources via Monday.com and being able to see clean, accurate, up to the minute capacity reporting has allowed us to be much more dynamic about scheduling work.
