Fantastic data viz tool

Great way to display data
What do you like best about the product?
This application allows the user to choose almost any data source and display up-to-date data in a graphical manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seems to be licensing issues. Although I had a license, it took over a week for the application to recognize my license. I contacted customer care, but they couldn't help. During that same week I attempted to use the "trial version," but since I work for the government, it said my trial period had ended, even though I had never used it before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To display data on our network in an easy to display graph or chart.

I like the logging options for all data and custom charts.

Mainly the loading of data and files by application server.

Solving data visulization problem, it saves you time from reading through tabs of data
Powerful and flexible analytics solution
What do you like best about the product?
The most useful feature of us is the ability to work with very large datasets. I also appreciate that it has comprehensive import/export functionality and live data source connections, including SQL databases, that are fast and reliable.The reports and dashboards are mobile friendly, with good performance. Tableau Desktop is easier to learn and use than Python, but also supports Python and R for more complex calculations or other coding use cases, so it feels like a good mix between being approachable for a wide range of potential users while also having the depth to support power users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many UI elements when performing analytics or constructing visualizations are not completely intuitive. This may be necessary to provide the more comprehensive functionality of the desktop product, but it does require some investment in training and/or patience with researching user tips as you go. Definitely designed for power users, unless you are only viewing dashboards created by others. Aesthetic options for visualization are somewhat limited, even though the tools themselves are reasonably powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Depending on your use case, there are often limited analytics and large dataset visualization capabilities within Excel, which is typically our main workflow tool for quantitative information. Tableau Desktop allows us to create powerful dashboards more quickly and with more features and functionality than other similar tools. Cost is also reasonable compared to competing solutions, with a large installed base and strong user community that helps when learning the product or coming across unforeseen issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is a reasonably generous trial offer, so it's easy to try out if you are unsure that it will be right for your use case.
Tableau is an excellent product for all data analysts

I like the simplicity of being able to generate data visualizations, and it also tailors to more advanced users by allowing inline code.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be complex to do more complicated things in Tableau, but it is all part of the learning curve.

I am able to easily analyze product data and derive key trends and business insights from my results.

High level summary to show risk that needs attention, drill down details are at your finger tips to research

the pdf documentation is not user friendly

Show a quick summary of high risk items before closing book in a tight time windown. Highlight risky items for attention during close.

What do you like best about the product?
Best part of Tableau is its ease of use to bring visualization to life
What do you dislike about the product?
Downsides of Tableau desktop is its not easy to create a dashboard and share it out widely without permissions or using an additional install like Tableau reader.

Converting excel/ppt reports in interactive dashboards

Great visualization tool and easy to learn

What do you like best about the product?
I Iiked that you can upload all the data from different sources into one place and connect only the columns that I need to analyze.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't particularly appreciate how long it took to download the data and how often the server kept crashing, although I was using high-speed internet service. I also found the interface difficult to work with; even when exchanging information with my colleagues, we primarily used screenshots to share preliminary findings. As a result, we ended up using code to analyze the data systematically.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Tableau Server to categorize data, to determine data timing, locations, and to aggregate the data.
Great intro to data visualization
What do you like best about the product?
This program is extremely easy to use, I was able to learn the basics in a day. Everything is laid out logically and nothing about the program makes me feel like I'm doing something in a convoluted way
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downsides are that if you are looking to use it for confidential data without a license the only way is to publish it online.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems solved with tableau are the ones I usually faced with making visualizations in excel, clunky interfaces, hard to use, hard to reorder even the axises the data are on. Tableau makes all of that simple.
