Really good data visualization tools for complex data sets
What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the multitude of ways data can be displayed in Tableau. The drag and drop nature of the program makes viewing one set of data as a function of another informative. It is also easy to export those data findings to share with colleagues or on the web.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning to use the platform can be tricky. With so many ways to display the data, choosing the best one and, more importantly, getting the scaling correct can be a bit of a challenge. It is also tough to work with very large data sets without refining them a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Tableau to display infographics of our member base to prepare a marketing plan.

Watch the training videos on the Tableau site! They are very helpful and give a good idea of how to use the platform.
Best BI tool in the market
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau provides wonderful functionality and features when it comes to an easy-to-build and deploy BI solution. It provides a standard list of Visualizations that can be used to build trends, identify outliers, aggregate data, etc. The thing I like the best is the vibrant community of Tableau users. There are rich and insightful material provided by other users about how advanced dashboards can be built using parameters, sets, and measures.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau as a BI product is costly. The Tableau server is is their enterprise edition, so it's high cost is understandable. But it's Desktop application for developers is also not free. That makes it difficult to train, and expand the user base of Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau desktop to develop sales reports. Aggregating and filtering the sales transaction data has helped us identify trends and uncover insights from thousands of rows of data.
We discovered where our customers are located, which days they buy our products, how the purchasing behavior changed because of Lockdowns and COVID-19.
Our marketing cost has decreased by 40%, and sales have increased by four folds since we implemented what we have learned from such insights.

Complete disaster on M1 MacBooks (about a year after Apple released its Macs)
What do you like best about the product?
Great software when it works. I used it on a prev gen mac book (with Intel hardware) and it was fine. Functionality is acceptable. Speed was a bit slow, but workable. Definitely better than the cloud version which lags a bit no matter how fast your internet connection is.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is teribly slow. To a point that I had to completely remove it from my M1 Macbook and go with a competitor.

Benefits: able to connect to internal data sources to analyze data and make easy to understand visualizations.

What do you like best about the product?
All in one visual and data analysis software that will help improve organization's value. I have been using Tableau data visualization and to report back on data analysis. I am able to share dashboard with stakeholder directly from Tableau via email. Really great feature if there are multiple people working on same dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cloud base tableau server is not free with regular tableau; it cost extra. It is worth the feature that help to share and storing all dashboard.

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is a very user-friendly software to use. It allows you to make graphs and charts, as well as static or dynamic dashboards. You can also perform various types of data joins, merges and deduping. You can also perform complex calculations with variables and graph the results.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the syntax for complex calculations can be complicated and confusing.

It allows for forecasting sales, so you can make predictions based on sales history

The way you can create extracts, easily create charts and practical formulas for calculations

You have to use another tool for data preparation (Tableau Prep) and a few bugs or misbehaving processes.

We are solving business problems by implementing solutions through data analysis.

Amazing for any kind of accounting tasks
What do you like best about the product?
I like that this application is very intuitive and easy to work with. I work in a big company and this application absolutely amazing. It has many options and it is very smart so that you can even choose the type of accounting: either accrual or cash

I don't like that their Mac version isn't adapted that well as Windows.

It helps me solving everyday tasks and operate the firm and my department.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Tableau is the speed with which it makes queries and brings information. It is very versatile in the graphics to be generated and provides executive information, simplifying the work.
In addition, it is straightforward to share the boards with colleagues to be reviewed internally.

If you have a lot of information to process, the dashboard can be very heavy, yet it is still faster than other solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As part of my job, I use a collector that collects a lot of information from equipment installed in our clients. This information must be processed, analyzed, and then held for review meetings with my clients. Tableau made this analysis work much easier for me since, with a single dashboard, I can analyze multiple clients and have the information processed and ready to use in a very short time.
