Best and the most intuitive visualization tool I have ever used
What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard feature works great, ability to refresh data on the fly. The set of suggested charts and graphs work for me most of the time. Can create custom charts too. The software works very well with location-based data. To top it all, there is a free Tableau Reader version available for those who don't have a license, hence you are not restricted.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is definitely a learning curve to it. A user is out to struggle during week 1, but like every software, the more you use the better you become at it. One other thing I don't like is that the software is heavy and sometimes is not able to process very large excel files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
VIsualize large data volumes to unearth insights, create and update graphs on the fly. Create quick client-ready graphs and associated decks. and finally, the dashboard forms a great tool to tell a story and let users explore data for themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
will definitely recommend. once you learn the basics, you are never going back to PowerPoint for creating charts and dashboards
Awesome reports from Tableau
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to create reports from multiple sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve might be a little difficult for someone that does not have some basic programming skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing live detailed reports for upper management that can be accessed via mobile too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review all areas that you are wanting to connect too for reporting. Be sure it is set up in a way to created indexes.
Very easy (mostly intuitive) software for data exploration and visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau makes it easy to "play" with data. You can drag and drop variables into different axes, and also sort by, color by, filter by different variables pretty intuitively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Refining figures (changes axes labels/design) is not as intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau chiefly for data exploration. I take a dataset and quickly (in minutes) prepare maps, figures, and tables to summarize results
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend use of Tableau for data exploration. After this stage, I often reproduce custom figures in other software such as ArcMap or R. This is also an excellent program for working with students, as they don't have to understand R but can produce figures more effectively than in Excel.
Great tool if you have the right data
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great computer learning analytics tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can only pull data from SFDC. You can't pull data from SAP or other sources so you are limited to what you already have in SFDC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to score opportunities to allow for quicker understanding as to the viability of an opportunity to be successful.
Very great product
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use with lots of documentations. Flexibility of creating custom visualizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to have more data visualizations increase since some custom data visualizations sometimes take time to build.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to easily translate visuals of our data for easy to view reports for everyone at my company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Continue building a great product. And hope you can add more data visualizations to upcoming versions.
Good tool to share info in an engaging way
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great tool to track business performance with different levels within the organization. It is very visual and intuitive for those who access the data
What do you dislike about the product?
The lincenses are very expensive compared to Power BI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is great to share knowledge in a visual and engaging way. It enables fact based dceision making
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Power BI provides very similar functionality at much better costs
Data Organizing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau gives you many ways to pull and look at data, so that you can see how things are performing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is actually somewhat hard to find something to dislike about this tool, since there is a lot of customization. You are really only limited by your imagination.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tableau has given us a better way to look up customer usage, employee performance, and overall business numbers.
Good data visualization tool with sleek design
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau's interface is better than Power BI in my opinion. The fields are very intuitive, and joining tables is easy to do. Data can come from multiple sources. Dashboard creating tool is well designed. Great options for visualization for data analytics purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Publishing to Tableau server can take a long time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data visualization, data analytics
Personal and Professional Projects Implementation
What do you like best about the product?
The infographic presentation was the best, it helped out teams to understand the statistics and data behavior. So, the front end was the best we get among the available tools in the market.
What do you dislike about the product?
The speed was something I always hassle with when I upload a large amount of data but still it depends on the computation power of my system. If tableau can be run on basics systems then it will be great I think.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The general statistic programs that we run on our custom software always get checked and compared with tableau's results. So, it's a milestone tool for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Understand your need before using the tool and try to keep the numbers and results as clean as possible. The end results will be great if you'll maintain the data's structure consistency.
Best for Visualization
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau desktop has unique features of drag and drop of attributes and metrics without going though any back end repository like OBIEE or MicroStrategy. It's good for fast visuals from the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Security at user and access level is one thing it has as a downside compared to other enterprise level reporting tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating the reports, dashboard which I used to make in excel and sharing the whole excel file with the partners is reduced by publishing it to the tableau server. It gives more astonishing look with drill up amd down option and many other features which makes it dynamic and it's easy.
