Excellent for analysing data, building charts and graphs
What do you like best about the product?
Once you've got to grips with the basics of using Tableau, it becomes really easy to quickly and efficiently present your data in a range of interesting and attractive dashboards. Tableau allows for very well presented displays of your results, and is very flexible in terms of its capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike about Tableau is how it can take a while to learn the basics and tips and tricks. After using the software for a few months I got to grips with it, but it's not immediately obvious to new users how to do things. However, there is lots of guidance available online to help you with this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm able to present my data findings in lots of efficient and interactive ways!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Allow yourself plenty of time for training when you are new to using this software.
Customer Management
What do you like best about the product?
Keeping an updated sales log of customer information makes repeat sales a streamlined and seamless process. Watching the system document prior sales is my everyday key to success.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Reports aspect of SalesForce could be much more intuitive, but a few baseline reports are easy to render.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Salesforce allows me to meet customers in the middle by fulfilling needs and allowing me access on-the-go to refer to past sales, customer info, and more.
Data Analytics for the win
What do you like best about the product?
I love that we can load our data files that contain millions of rows of data into a centralized software to be able to filter out and make calculated fields to produce pretty reporting for the management team and our visuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the extremely long wait time when we use filters on our reporting. We do use millions of rows of claim information, so filtering down on a few attributes will cause a report to take a few minutes to populate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to condense our data and build pretty analysis' that are otherwise impossible to generate given the size of our data sets.
Great for visualization
What do you like best about the product?
This system allows you to analyze and organize more data than excel

Large data sets sometimes take a long time to load unlike other programs

Using 2 data sets and combining them for custom reporting allowing us to bypass BI report team

What do you like best about the product?
I love salesforce. It is a very useful tool within my company. We have a chat section, learning videos, etc.

I do not dislike anything about the salesforce tool.

We are learning new things with our training videos/documents on salesforce which is benefiting our organization.
Flexible product making big data easy to analyse
What do you like best about the product?
Easy visualisations out of the box and good connectivity to external datasouces
What do you dislike about the product?
Large datasets take some time to render and calculate meaning some manipulation it required. Tableaus inbuilt data blending Is a mess and nearly always causes issues in a workbook, or fails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quicker insights and ability for stakeholders to digest information easily. Dashboard building is quick and easy, and coupled with tableau server, the team have been able to revolutionise data sharing and insights across the business.
Robut tool with great visualization options
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau server is a great enterprise solution for sharing reports and dashboards across the organization with self service capability
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the basic tabular views which sometimes are very useful for analyzing the details need to be enhanced

We are building multiple Tableau dashboards and reports around operational metrics to capture daily, weekly and monthly performance trends

its ease of use, integration of data, easy to make charts and someone doesnt need to be technical to use it

I would chose power bi over tableau just because power bi is easier to use than tableau. Nothing to dislike about it

Instaling the software was a tough one for me

make sure you have java installed in your laptop and take a course or two before you dig in

What do you like best about the product?
It has amazing dashboards. It’s easy to connect to your databases( sql server, excel.. etc) it’s very user friendly. You can start making useful reports from the first day.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has direct query but while using t-sql you can’t use temporary tables

What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is very easy to use and options to connect to different data sources. It also provides options to publicly distribute the dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau has a very high pricing when compared to Power BI Desktop version which is open source. Tableau desktop version is available for only a 15-day free trial which makes it difficult for consultants who want to learn how to use Tableau.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Tableau Desktop to build a dashboard for the Leadership team. The dashboard provided the leadership team with a high level view of the yearly KPI's. The ability to drill down from Country down to a district level made it even better to use.
