What do you like best about the product?
Everything is under its own tab, it helps us keep track oh things and take care of our customers better

There are a lot of steps for every single process. It can get frustrating with all the tabs left open.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solved our follow up issue. We found that we were not following up correctly.

Great Data Manipulation Software
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to upload data from several different formats.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve, and some symbols are intuitive

Its easy to compile data from excel and create a variety of different dashboards
Versatile and professional data viz software
What do you like best about the product?
At its most basic level, it's easy to create and customize professional data visualizations. Tableau is also capable of more advanced and customized visualizations, but this takes more research and troubleshooting. Either way, the visualizations are polished and sophisticated, going far beyond what Excel, R, and other programs are capable of.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downsize is that it's expensive. Additionally, while the software is capable of many different types of visualizations, sometimes it takes lots of Googling to get your visualization to appear as you'd like, either because the tweak requires lots of troubleshooting, or the feature doesn't exist so you have to find a loophole. The online Tableau community forums are helpful for this.

Creating data visualizations in Tableau has been crucial for storytelling and putting a quantitative punch behind messaging.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy UI that can be used in any industry. Being able to combine that with Prep for data pre processing is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are limited in terms of using Python to do automation, which is really bothersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to visualize trends so easy is one of the biggest problems I am solving.
The user interface is very intuitive and easy to follow. The end result is very seamless to use

Creating parameters for calculations is a very useful feature. Helps in reduction of variables.

Tableau is not super flexible when replacing datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building automated dashboards for clients to understand customer satisfaction, drivers of sales, geomarketing, market evaluation and expansion. It's the best tool to put the results of analysis in a visually appealing way.
Very powerful BI tool
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau 2019.2 uses hyper and it can process large volume of data with great speed. The action filter is very handy when you have multi dimensional data and what to filter data by slicing in one of those dimensions and see the result in other dimensions. The calculation field is also very powerful if you want to aggregate your data at different level than the original data set (in combination with level of details).
What do you dislike about the product?
The disadvantage of using tableau compared to other analytical tools like Mode is that it is not that engineering use friendly. It is more complicated to connect to the dataset than Mode and the customized tool like integration of Jupyter Notebook is not supported in Tableau.

Connecting to a data source is straightforward and simple. Whether that's a csv, access, sql server, oracle, or others.
You can have several data sources in the same workbook. Perhaps a main connection to a sql server database for transactional data, and a local csv which can be used as a lookup.
Tableau Desktop is great for data exploration, where you can get a feel for the data. Using it to build reports, and dashboards that can be used to create stories to convey a message that the data supports.
All of this is performed locally.
The ultimate goal is to publish the workbook that has been developed onto a server for the business to consumer and to gain the insight that you have uncovered.

However, the costs from year-2 onwards are a percentage of the initial year's fees.

This empowers a business user by giving them the tools, in the form of a dynamic reports, where they can browse the data, and trends intuitively. The standard functionality to be able to export data is present, so if the user wishes, they can export the data and perform more analysis outside of Tableau.

Tableau Desktop is a front runner along with Power BI as a tool for enterprise businesses who need to empower the business with self-serve reporting functionality.
This helps save time maintaining "static" that only provide one answer to one question.

One of the best BI tools
What do you like best about the product?
Tableau is designed in a beginner friendly way. It still has a lot to develop, but the product development team is responsive. When I had a problem, I couldn't find the feature I want on Tableau community, I sent an email to Tableau and a product manager followed up with me to understand the problem I had. That was really good customer experience to me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some visual features should be more flexible for users to control, esp those that have aesthetic values rather than analytical values.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating nice visuals than using traditional Excel or PowerPoint. I have used the ready made templates wihin Tableau a lot, which made creating basic visuals much faster.
Great Data Analysis Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love how intuitive this program is. You can figure out how to master this program pretty quickly just by paying attention to what you are doing with it. If you know excel, you can jump right into this!
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how switching between pro and public can be difficult. I have also encountered saving/file size issues in the past but it is not as common.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Tableau for data journalism and focus on building meaningful visuals to convey the story within our data. We have realized that Tableau has so many customize-able features, we dont need a graphic designer to make the charts aesthetically pleasing.
