Great analytics software
What do you like best about the product?
amazing data visualisation software that is the leader on the market

it takes alot to deploy at a big enterprise and train users

1. Drag & Drop Facility. User-friendly and basic knowledge of Database is needed.

License is expensive. 3d Graphs should be implemented in this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving about how many sells we have done in a month, week, quarter and year. Pictorial representation helps in understanding the trend of sales.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will suggest this tool for those people who want to analyze their data but don't want to put more efforts in writing query each time. In this, you only need a basic knowledge of joining table and know how the tables are linked to each other. You only need to write query in very rare case. And the tool is very fast in giving the analyses. The only thing is that you may forget how to write query after using this software. But your logic will be strong.
Quick and user friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it is GUI based helps to learn and implement quickly. Also there are solutions on the net to the frequent problems that you may face.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it takes a lot of time to load file more than 2GB.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The DOT reports and the visualizations. They can be quickly and easily compiled using Tableau
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Switch to tableau if your dataset is not that "big"
Tableau is powerful but had limitations with big size databases

We loved the ability to add calculations, nested visualizations within reports using Tableau.
What do you dislike about the product?
We were using high size databases with levels of monthly aggregations and the reports sometimes would not calculate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using Tableau for trend analysis across customers, and measuring degree of adoption of our products as well as creating synthetic ROIs for customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would look at the databases sizes and either decide to split them apart if possible (ie. summarizations vs. details) or look at geographical splits.

-easy to track all my opportunities across all my different accounts including stages and decision makers
- helps track account connections
- gives you a pulse of differnet opporutunites and where you stand in the sales cycle

What do you dislike about the product?
-almost a bit to much information and can be overwhelming.
-the more time you spend in SFDC the better and easier it becomes as a sales tool
- takes time to really gain the full benefit of the tool (take the time to train your sales people on this tool)
- can be a bit difficult to customize the tool - so plan for that

- this is a great tool and it allows for any sales person and manager to check a pulse on any opportunity
- also it helps you understand what opps are valid and when to abondon others
- this can save salesforce large amounts of time not having them chase down deals that are not valid
- this helps sales people understand who they need to target inside their accounts who will help them drive an opporutnity to completion

a bit of a learning curve and sometimes doesn't connect to the data well

Sharing the dashboards across the organization is very easy with different levels of permissions. Web authoring and Tags are the best features

Learning curve to make meaningful visualizations. You need to really take time to figure out how it works and get the visualizations to be meaningful.

I have been able to visually describe the distribution of students within various demographics.

It will take time to use. Make sure you have a use in mind when you install so you have something concrete to work on.
Tableau Data Visualization Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use for Data Visualization reports and self modelling in case of small reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data Modelling for a big enterprise is not easy. Processing time of big reports with large data set takes lots of lots of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for BI reporting.It helps to visualize the data very easily for simple reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Its a good Data Visualization tool.Need to be very good in data modelling for complex data models.
Love Love Love - Custom Queries w/ Results in Seconds
What do you like best about the product?
You are able to write custom SAQL queries and retrieve the results in less than a few seconds. Great visualizations and interactivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of custom code has to be written to write anything of significant value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to create any custom metric that you can dream of.

Just make sure that you are able to write the custom code needed to create something of value or hire someone that can or find something that works for you as a plugin.
