True Insight!
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Tableau is the incredible versatility in representing the data. I've managed to find a way of communicating important concepts each and every time I try to do so with the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the learning curve for Tableau wasn't so steep. As a user late to the Tableau game in my company, I didn't have access to training from their folks and my team were busy on projects unrelated to my own, leaving me to figure out most the details through trail and error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've managed to grasp a very good picture of where our product moves and when. Using movement data to track down gaps and opportunities. Its also given us ways to represent our internal resource usage and allocation, so that we can be sure we're making the best use of them.
Great easy to use BI Tool & Great for visualizations
What do you like best about the product?
What I liked best was that how easy it is to visualize any structured data using Tableau within minutes. There are a lot of data connectors which we can use to import many different kinds of data Creating calculated fields is also fairly easy. Tableau also offers a robust and reliable performance. Tableau also has advanced features for forecasting, prediction and clustering. Tableau also has libraries to import python functions if needed. The geospatial data can also be visualized easily with Tableau.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau can be a bit expensive if all its features are not used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recently, Tableau had added k-means clustering which is very useful for segmentation. I was able to effectively cluster the data set containing benign and malignant tumors using Tableau.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you need something that is easier to use and mostly for data visualizations but you do not have very complex statistical or regressional requirements that can only be solved via SAS & R then you should give this a try.

What do you dislike about the product?
Tableau has a lot of technical limitation. There are many things which are not straightfoward but require tweak/workaround to get them done
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To create dashboards and visialisations with large datasets
Has come along way since the product was called Wave Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
The fact this product is within the salesforce platform to me is its best features. It brings over the data we need to provide to end users in a very seamless fashion (once you have it setup correctly). System latency is never an issue. End user experience is top of the line for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with all salesforce products, you run into times when the feature you are trying to access is just not ready to be rolled out yet and is on a long product road map to hit one of their 3 yearly releases. There are limitations to the product which have seemed to diminish as Wave was acquired by salesforce and is now finally part of the Einstein stack. Simple things like data binding in the JSON layer can be cumbersome to a non-super technical user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company built out an entire operational system on the salesforce cloud and needed something better than standard salesforce reports and dashboards to provide to our end users and clients. We implemented wave (Einstein) mainly because it was part of the salesforce tech stack.
Users from various roles now have access to interact with their data in a very visual way. We also deliver Wave via the salesforce community product to our clients and partners in our ecosystem.
Future revenue potential has also been recognized as we start to charge for this more robust analysis and BI delivery.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
As with any salesforce product that you intend on customizing out of the box to meet your business use cases, be ready for lots of setup and configuration. If you are deploying it for Sales out of the box, you will be up in a snap.
Pulling reports for customer engagement
What do you like best about the product?
The UI. It is easy to navigate once you have a good understanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to learn, as it took a few full length seminars to get understanding.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have no other way of reporting to our customers the ROI on their media campaigns, Tableau fills that need.
Access great amount of data
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the amount of data that can fit on the platform. It is a great user experience and offers varying levels of control that allow data to be aggregated in a meaningful and helpful way.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be slow and laggy and has crashed for me before. Uploading from the back end requires a solid knowledge of SQL, so it may not be able to be used by some teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tableau to check multiple dashboards, as it populates data automatically and seamlessly.
