A Good Option when you manage multiple databases

What do you like best?
The Teradata Data Mover allows you to move data and database objects within 2 Teradata Databases, Moreover, it also allows transferring between Teradata and Hadoop, which is a very good feature for companies using Hadoop for BigData. When a project has multiple databases in Teradata and if 2 or more of their features need to be merged then this Data Mover comes in handier and reduces the majority of the Overhead. It also provides us with a variety of options to move the data like On-premise to the public cloud etc.
What do you dislike?
You need to spend more time with the documentation as there is fewer illustrative tutorials covering the intricacies of Teradata Data Mover, which is going to cost more man-hours to get the team ready
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1) Teradata being a less used database when compared to its market competitors like PostgreSQL etc, this Data mover functionality helps the project to adapat toa diverse ecosystem, Furthermore, the support to move data from and to Cloud is one of the benifts that exisiting users who wish to move to cloud will get benifited from.

What do you like best?
The GUI of the Teradata Data mover makes it a very easy-to-use tool for data transfer from one Teradata system to another. It is a perfect alternative to QueryGrid when it comes to Teradata to Teradata transfer. The speed of the Data transfer using Teradata data mover is also excellent.
What do you dislike?
Job scheduling functionality could add more value to the tool if it can be integrated into the GUI of the Teradata Data mover. Apart from that, everything is excellent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to move the complete or partial data schema from our production to the test environment or vice versa for data validation and business requirements.
It saves us a lot of time as it is supports fast data transfer and also allows us to define the data compression flag while transferring, which helps us to save space as well if required.

What do you like best?
What I like the best about Data Mover is the fast and simple data movement speed: it moves or copies data from one system to another.

Like its flexibility and power: it allows the automation, control and supervision of processes.
And above all, it is easy to use: it provides a point-and-click user interface to enable commands.
What do you dislike?
What I disliked about Data Mover is the need to implement Data Mover following a hosting company like AWS or Azure by Microsoft. Also the price is not for a staring or little companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

You can save a lot of time using Teradata Data Mover to perform periodic tasks, including loading data from a data store dependent on Enterprise Data Warehouse, as well as special single-use tasks, such as moving data to a test system.

Simply specify what you want to copy and select the fastest protocol under the covers, even if it changes over time.
