What do you like best about the product?

I use Deltek Costpoint for payroll and to enter my hours. It’s very easy to enter my time on my timesheet, sign it, and save it. Submitting and signing my timesheet at the end of the week is very easy, and the initial setup was very easy.

What do you dislike about the product?

I have trouble logging in the first time each day because Deltek Costpoint keeps loading. I have to refresh the website or close and reopen my browser a few times before it lets me log in. I’d like the mainframe updated so it doesn’t take so long to log in.

What do you like best about the product?

It includes useful tools and modules that collect data, and then you can generate reports based on it. I like that AI is starting to be built into Costpoint.

What do you dislike about the product?

The AI is not fully developed and often responds that it cannot help. Deltek Costpoint’s documentation is lacking, which frequently forces users to figure things out on their own, write their own documentation, or hire a consultant. Companies already pay a lot for Costpoint, but then still have to bring in a consultant just to understand how to use it, which adds significant cost. On top of that, many of the modules within Costpoint don’t communicate well with each other, so the same data has to be re-entered multiple times. When there’s an issue and you submit a ticket, you typically get the runaround and the ticket can sit for an extended period. Too often, Deltek support doesn’t actually help resolve the problem. And when something critical to your company goes down in Costpoint, there doesn’t seem to be any urgency from Deltek Costpoint to fix it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Deltek Costpoint helps us maintain an approved accounting system while also providing a central point for data entry. That’s beneficial because, when it’s working properly, it’s a great tool to use.

What do you like best about the product?

I like that I only have to use Deltek Costpoint once every two weeks, not every day.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find Deltek Costpoint terribly designed for multiple employee timekeeping. I think it could be much more intuitive, with an easier interface for creating standard weekly timecards. I found the initial setup not easy at all.

What do you like best about the product?

I love Deltek Costpoint's job costing and indirect rates features. The tool provides a great level of detail, which allows me to get a P&L for every project seamlessly. Even though I'm a bit biased because I've used it throughout my career, I find that it gives us all the information we need and works perfectly for our accounting needs.

What do you dislike about the product?

I feel like Deltek Costpoint is somewhat complex, though it seems manageable once you know the system. However, there's something about the integration with other tools; currently, we mostly do data dumps since we don't have an API running yet. I plan to integrate it with our payroll and CRM tools, but that's a goal for the future as we work on more automation. So, there's that gap at the moment.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Deltek Costpoint for accounting, job costing, indirect rates, and timekeeping. It provides detailed project life cycle management and helps me access seamless P&L information for each project.

What do you like best about the product?

I like that Deltek Costpoint makes it easier to complete our ICR at the end of the year. It also simplifies separating unallowable, shared, G&A, and overhead costs compared to competitors.

What do you dislike about the product?

There is no notification for journal entries, cash receipts, and vouchers that need to be approved. This is an issue because we have segregation of duties in place and need to be SOX compliant, which causes more back and forth when a notification could easily be sent to reviewers. Additionally, the alignment with US GAAP is more difficult than it could be. The initial setup was also challenging as we had to load life-to-date data instead of just point-in-time data and project history.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Deltek Costpoint helps us stay CAS compliant by integrating timekeeping with accounting. It simplifies completing the ICR and separating costs like G&A and overhead. However, it lacks notification features for approvals and has alignment challenges with US GAAP.

What do you like best about the product?

Accessing Costpoint from a mobile device. Previously, I primarily accessed the system using a desktop computer.

What do you dislike about the product?

The amount of staff I manage makes it difficult on a mobile device.

Using the same login makes accessing easier.

I have used this software in the past. I like that you can add items to your favorites to work around those you don’t need or use often.

Deleting line items on the timesheet does not leave them deleted.

What do you like best about the product?

I like the ease of use of Deltek Costpoint the most. It's easy to find anything I need in the timesheet module, making the process of tracking our employees' time relatively painless. If edits need to be made due to incorrect postings, it's easy to correct and have employees re-sign timesheets. We can efficiently manage timesheet management, payroll, and posting labor distributions with reduced staff. Once you learn the processes, it's an easy and efficient system to use.

What do you dislike about the product?

I don't really dislike anything about Costpoint. However, I will say that I recently completed several Costpoint certificates on the Deltek Learning Hub and didn't receive the badge or certification email upon completion. I completed the Costpoint Silver Business Intelligence Report Authoring Certification Exam, and also the Costpoint Silver Labor Management Certification exam but didn't receive the badge or certification email for completing these two exams. The automated email stated that I should receive them within a 48 hour period, but it's been greater than that timeframe and I still haven't received. Do you know who I would need to contact or reach out to to receive these certificates?

Deltek Costpoint organizes and simplifies processes like timesheet management, making tracking time easy and correcting errors painless, while improving overall ease of use and efficiency with less staff.
