All the controls so our revenue is accurate based on the contract.

Fixing issues, for example T&M end dates

Costpoint Newbie
What do you like best about the product?
Im a newbie to Costpoint. I come from a large platform (peoplesoft) but learning Costpoint thus far hasn't been too difficult. It's intuitive to learn.
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting could be better. It's difficult to get large sets of data without errors in excel. CML is formatted in PDF so more time spent formatting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project tracking and keeping all data in one spot. Indirect rates would probably be the biggest.

Customer Service been using Costpoint for 25 years and get first level help when there is an issue. Most of the time I know the system better than they do.

It is our finance system and we use T&E for expense

Moving from Unanet to Deltek Costpoint
What do you like best about the product?
When my company underwent an acquisition, we made the switch from Unanet to Deltek Costpoint, which initially made me apprehensive. However, thanks to the support and comprehensive help documentation provided by Deltek Costpoint, along with the flexibility to work in our test environment, the transition proved to be remarkably smooth. Over the past three years as a Deltek Costpoint user, I've successfully implemented the Materials Module for Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders, established a new process for handling subcontractor invoices through Subcontractor Management, and I'm currently in the process of configuring the Contacts Module, which will seamlessly integrate with our Subcontractor agreement PO Types. Deltek Costpoint's constant pursuit of process improvement aligns perfectly with my own drive to enhance workflows. I eagerly anticipate the introduction of new features in each update.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integration /communication between the different modules needs improvement. Better report options within Costpoint instead of having to use BI.
Main dislike: the supplier portal sounds great but isn't practical if the majority of your subcontractors are under a CPFF contract.

I can't wait for us to have 8.2 features. The improvements to the user experience will be huge.

What do you like best about the product?
The BI capabilities are great.

The user interface is still sometimes unintuitive. We will see how 8.2 improves that.

We are working on improving the project setup process and making it more consistent. We are also improving our timesheet timeliness and supporting notes.
We just went live 2 months ago.
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to get anywhere I need to go from one spot & I use the search function frequently. I also like the quick load times when navigating.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like issuing inventory into a manufacturing order. Going line by line & selecting serial/lots on a large bom takes my team a long time.

Still figuring that out since we are brand new to it.

BI reporting is top notch, cost accounting is endlessly customizable, which makes for excellent reporting.

'Progress Payment Bills' is inadequate and does not comply to FAR
