The multiple integrated Costpoint modules makes Enterprise Management a breeze for all of our needs
What do you like best about the product?
The Labor Distribution with T&E interface
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I dislike is the printing in the excel format. I wish there was a dump to excel instead of the PDF type formatting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to complete the month end close process under 5 days
The Only Accounting ERP that a Company Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Following the Project from Start to Finish and In-between is the best for any accountant that follows the complete project cycle. Allowing a quick glance of where the project is at through Dashboards and other Reports via Costpoint Enterprise Reporting or Cognos Business Intelligence.
What do you dislike about the product?
Toggling between Table and Form on the different Modules, wish it defaulted to Form View vs. Table View.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing a glance of where we are as a company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking into a complete ERP system, this is it! I have enjoyed working with Deltek Costpoint for many years since 2006 to this day and have enjoyed learning all that it can do! It has changed a lot during the years of using this product, and I am proud to be a User/Admin of this product.

What do you like best about the product?
Very robust platform for project-based accounting.
What do you dislike about the product?
Upgrade process is unwieldy and time-consuming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Projects able to track costs at various levels as needed.

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of information at your fingertips is just incredible. If I need to know the status, quantity, or location of material at any given time, I do not need to open up three different modules or pages. All the information I need is laid out perfectly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really, I have yet to explore all the features that CP has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Production Manufacturing. All reports are easily accessible.

get a consultant to walk you through the conversions and train the users -- the transition from SAP to Costpoint was frustrating.

What do you like best about the product?
I find CP very easy to navigate and to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how some setups require steps on multiple screens, as it becomes complicated, and you need to make sure nothing was missed. Like setting up a new GL account - and making sure you link it to the orgs and set up cost pools. Some employees complain that it is not very intuitive (they only use it for timesheet purposes and are not in CP much).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I did not work at this company prior to their CP implementation, but I will say that it has made timesheets and payroll processing much easier than what I experienced at prior jobs.

The Reporting and functionality of CostPoint

CostPoint at times can be a bit clunky to get around, to many clicks to accomplish something

It's mostly intuitive, at least the part people will use the most.

Some sections are less intuitive, like it's challenging to set your work schedule and for Costpoint to recognize it.

Work Smarter with Cost Point
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to customize and save my screen setups to maximize my workflow. It helps make the most of my day and tasks. I can keep multiple applications loaded at one time and move between them quickly and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost Point is not always the most user-friendly, or user-intuitive, in terms of finding the right application when you need it. You can favorite your most used applications if you know how, but there isn't anywhere to easily show you this either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a daily task-oriented user of Cost Point about accounting. I can quickly work on revenue and determine where we are missing key items and missing out on revenue, such as billing rates, ceiling hours or funding updates. I assist the Controller in tracking all revenue each month to ensure that we are capturing all revenue, as well as correcting any errors in setup.

What do you like best about the product?
The diversity in which projects can be established.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a lot of backend tables that hold the data. Similiar modules can hold duplicative data instead of using another module's existing data. This has gotten better over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a government contractor, we find the ease of providing information to auditors is quicker. As well as compliance features in costpoint are continually being watched, updated, and communicated which provides successful outcomes.
