Great time keeping software
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to apply time. Input charge codes and monitor accrued pto.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not allow you to keep timesheet in a full screen setup to see entire work week.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly inputting time and approving time sheets of other staff.
As an end user Deltek is the worst application I have ever encountered
What do you like best about the product?
As an end user I can't speak to how Deltek functions for the company as a whole, but it is almost unusable for time and expense keeping. There is NOTHING intuitive about the interface at all. It's almost as if they tried to make it as opaque and useless as they could, and then figured out how to make it worse.
What do you dislike about the product?
Almost impossible to use as an end user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All I need to do in Deltek Costpoint is do my own time and expense and review/approve those for my direct reports. There is almost no part of any of those functions that is easy or intuitive. Instructions are unclear. Process is extremely convoluted. Buttons/links are all over the place and don't really help you figure out what to do next. Many, many, many steps to do really simple things. Inadequate confirmation pop up boxes. Jargon-y, confusing nomenclature. There is not one user in our company who is even neutral about having to use Deltek for time and expense keeping--and there certainly isn't anyone who is positive about it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Stay as far away from Deltek as you can.

The best thing about deltek costpoint is the contractor billing.
What do you dislike about the product?
This product is the most not user friendly and really requires to have an expert staff memeber just to utilize and activate accounts correctly.

It's a reliable and most efficient software when it comes to project management and accountability of the activities and operations involved in the project.
What do you dislike about the product?
The responding action of the software is far much slow being that the software has taken too long for updation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of work staff has been simplified,and accountability been made automatic with The aid of this software. Analysis process is easier.

Useful tools for project materials inventory, planning and purchasing.
What do you dislike about the product?
A simple print request is much to complicated. Printing a po is often times a tiresome process! Why cant simply just click FILE click PRINT - OK and be done? Printing and searching for po's is too complicated

What do you like best about the product?
The system is a good for very standard information to be entered which includes personal information, benefit administration, standard reports and custom reports through Cognos, easy to submit for timesheet and expense reports. It is more of a bare bone system with simplicity to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The system has not been updated for almost 10 years, not a web based version, reports are hard to run especially custom reports since there is nothing searchable and have to know exactly which categories things are stored. No tiers of items and have to click on multiple pages to get to certain items. The whole system need to be rennovated to keep up with other similar systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was good for very basic items such as time keeping, expense reports, API's for benefit vendors, basic HR information and benefit administration.

What do you like best about the product?
Deltek costpoint allows team members to track expenses in a way that is recognizable and easily reconcilable with our internal accounting systems. The form system is straight forward and gets the job done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how Costpoint is older software that could use some revamping and better design and changes to the user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I am solving with Deltek costpoint is the need to track expenses and remain compliant per our contracts and work that we have with various clients. It's done the job decently well over the past few years to my knowledge.
Costpoint easiness
What do you like best about the product?
Costpoint is very easy to use, especially for beginners. Not much training is needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The time keeping abilities. When a new period begins it take a few minutes to find all your charge numbers you usually use. I’m sure there are shortcuts for this, but we have not learned them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use costpoint for material purchasing/purchase orders approval, project numbers opening/closing, printing project summary reports etc.
Expense management software for a consulting
What do you like best about the product?
I like cost point the best because it is a piece of software that solidly allows our employees to log their expenses and for managers to approve those expenses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that cost point is legacy software that hasn't been updated over the past few years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I'm solving with costpoint is the need to ensure compliance and our accounting practices and guarantee that we have a reliable log of all employee expenses incurred from consulting engagements.
