Great UI, good search performance, poor OpenTelemetry support

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is easy to use, enabling a relatively simple way to view the kubernetes stack, and viewing drops in requests over a period of time, or highlighting areas of high errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
The poor support for OpenTelemetry means that a requirement is to run the SDK alongside existing services. Given other providers are moving to first-class support for this, this could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It enables a relatively easy integration for an observability platofrm, which makes resolving/investigating incidents easier. It also has great support for kubernetes, which makes it easier for non-infrastructure engineers to be able to deduce infrastructure issues.

Fast analysis of my web applications

What do you like best about the product?
i can do fast and effective analysis of my web applications and can figure out where to find the problem if there are infrastructure problems or e.g. network problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
it could be helpful to provide some e.g. templates for e.g. web applications or create some custom templates to provide some sort of standard so every project can be handled in same manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are providing as a software company software solutions for big oems. These customers are likely to host our product in their own infrastructure so it happens often that not our software product has some performance issues more than the customers infrastructure has e.g. a slow proxy which is slowing down the product perfomance. So it helps to enhance the debugging and find the error in specific and effective way.

What do you like best about the product?
It is highly integrable with different tools and also is easy to use in scripts
What do you dislike about the product?
The GUI can be more helpful, and the team can work on User experience to make it easy for newbies like me to make it more easy to understand
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The User experience I believe is out of date and needs to work on a new GUI which makes it much more easy to use.

What do you like best about the product?
Instana does an excellent job @ APM. We are very satisfied with what it is currently doing. It is very powerful. We are easily able to fine-tune what we are monitoring to get what we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have seen a slowdown in support over the last year. We do have a great account manager that is very helpful when we reach out. The slowdown comes when we start a request through support. There also isn't a clear roadmap on what is coming in the next year with Instana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most significant benefit is just the standard monitoring that comes out of the box with Instana. Beyond that, it's the ability to find tune our monitors to meet the needs of our different IT teams.

We use it to monitor our cluster, in order to centralize its current status within our monitoring project in a friendly dashboard.
The observability of our cluster improved and we can now have centralized and deep monitoring.

What do you like best about the product?
- UI display is simple
- Overall view of erroneous call to endpoints and latency is very useful to find performance issues of the monitored software
- Ease of adding new applications to monitor
- Customization of the pages is easy even for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Finding specific endpoint usages based on request content (e.g. body) can be difficult, and the UI could make it far more obvious
- Direct integrations with third-party providers such as Grafana would be very appreciate
- The way kubernetes resources are represented is now always clear and could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This platform helps us determine and find the root cause of the problem, which causes performance to degrade. Monitor in real time and provide instant alerts on issues.

What do you like best about the product?
I want to compare Instana to a Department store where everything is available, and you don't need separate stores for each, which is by default time-consuming and tedious job. In short, the complete Application/user monitoring and debugging is well presented in its interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
After a few weeks, the data is deleted/approximated as a data retention policy, which sometimes, on analyzing the old issues, we couldn't come to a judgment. Please consider if you can increase the timeline a little bit more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Instana, we used to have a 24*7 team that looked at the logs continuously, and on any error, they will call our developers/tech support people. Now the team isn't really required since we have the alerting mechanism configured for all errors. Also, the logs from server to user and back to the server in each transaction can easily be tracked and understood; if Instana isn't there, I feel that I need to work at least 5 or 6 times than the time I'm doing now.

A useful tool to monitor the whole environment

What do you like best about the product?
I use Instana mostly to understand which APIs are returning errors or to understand which are too expensive in term of time consuming. I like the way Instana groups the results in several graph to undestand better in fewer time. And I like the way things are linked together: starting from the API I can go lower to the data/repository layer and see if a query is taking too much to complete.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sincerely I haven't found something wrong, or missing, basing on the use I made of the product. Maybe, in my opinion, Instana seems a "read only" tool, I mean I use Instana to find issues, than I have to go to that system and act manually. I know that there are so many tools and systems to control and to handle, but maybe it could be useful to give the user some "restart that thing that is not working" features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a cloud environment based on AWS servers and Kubernetes orchestrator. Instana is useful to have a snapshot of the entire environment, monitoring low-level machines, pods/containers, services, DBs, etc. We have alerts enabled, it's useful to have a notification when something is wrong, even when you are not alway logged in or you have a tab of Instana in your browser.

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to filter data according to the requirement to get the exact insights is a big help. Visualising this kinds of data always helps businesses gain confidence about their decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the filters could be a bit confusing while selecting the timelines and while selecting the exact resource for which you want to pull the data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We get regular reports for the memory and CPU utilisation on our infrastructure. We can tune the parameters in a way where we can accomodate the requirements, usage and in turn can take better business decisions.
