Integrated Cloud Access That Streamlines Collaboration and Reviews

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having integrated cloud access is a very useful feature for our daily workflow. We can track for versions, follow a systematic review process (using the requirements portal) and can collaborate with colleagues from other departments like manufacturing.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes issues with syncing. There are some bugs with the implementation where the software says that a licences is not available even though no seats are occupied. But overall it’s not bad
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps create a cloud based PCB design software. The ability to make multi pcb designs and harnesses is also great.

One-Stop Circuit Design with Seamless Altium 365 and Version Control

  • February 17, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Altium Develop is a one-stop solution for most of my circuit design needs. It integrates version control and provides centralized access to all my projects through Altium 365, which has been a great way for me to debug and develop my hardware designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It usually comes with too many options which are overwhelming for a beginner to get started, learning curve is little steep.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of hardware development, providing manufacturer provided altium symbols & footprints is the best problem altium is solving and makes me want to use altium more & more. Eagle, kicad and other platforms don't have this so it's really hard to find perfect footprints.

PCB Design with Altium

  • February 13, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of features. Most of these do in turn have a sharp learning curve, however once they are mastered it makes designing a board very streamlined. For example, when working with a schematic and creating a PCB, being able to highlight specific groups of components and then locate them on the PCB is huge timesaver and helps with board layout.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issues I have ran into so far are crashes and the autosave function failing. At times, it will freeze up randomly even if there was no input into the program. Additionally, the autosave feature is not the greatest, as it doesn't always reconnect to the host server. I actually lost a small amount of work from yesterday due to this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium allows me and my company to streamline our development process and integrate multiple different designs and boards in one program. Previously, we were using KiCad which didn't allow for multiboard design. Now, we are able to work with ease.

Competitive price and quick launch: a nice improvement if long term

  • February 13, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Compared to AD Classic, the price is more competitive and the launch is faster.
What do you dislike about the product?
Loss of seat management functionality for everyone, and fairly frequent GIT management bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
very good UI, keyboard shortcuts are numerous and very practical; the routing tools (xSignals, impedance matching, rules, and others) are quite comprehensive.

What do you like best about the product?
The price and inclusion of certain Pro features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The disabling of the roam feature for travel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It drastically lowered the cost compared to Altium Standard, and added certain pro features such as multiboard design and revision control. For a small company that is helpful.

Cheap, Powerful, and Perfect for Low-Volume PCB Design

  • February 13, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Cheap and powerful, hit our needs when we do designs of only few PCBs a year.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has more features as the Altium Standard Designer. But a very good internet connection is needed. When you do home office, maybe the internet connection is too slow and it takes a lot of time during the work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer was more expensive and it was always a problem to get needed budget. Now it was much more easy to get budget for Altium Develop. Additional more features makes my work easier and faster.

Buggy, Crash-Prone, and Not Worth the License Cost

  • February 12, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Altium is not good software, and it is definitely not worth the money that the license costs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's free, has bugs, and crashes with data loss.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I design in Altium Electronics together with my team and clients, but I think that soon I will consider moving to a different environment.

Migration Promises Fell Short—Paying for Seats Without Being Able to Use It

  • February 12, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I haven't used it yet but longtime Altium user. I like Altium Develop's proposed licensing, much more affordable and flexible than Altium Designer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Migration from our old workspace to the Develop workspace was promised to be a button click. In reality that didn't happen and I've had to open a ticket. As a result, we've paid for 2 seats and a workspace for the past 2.5 months and haven't been able to use it yet. No talk of extending our license renewal to compensate. So not a great start...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were coming from Altium Designer licenses so there isn't much change for us, but the new licensing options with Develop are way more flexible and affordable for our use case.
