Altium: A Game-Changer for PCB Design
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Altium Designer is how it combines a powerful set of tools with a user-friendly interface. It makes designing PCBs easier with features like real-time design rule checking and an intuitive layout editor.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Altium Designer is that it can be quite pricey, which might be a stretch for smaller teams or individual users. Additionally, while it’s powerful, the software can be a bit complex and have a steep learning curve, especially if you’re new to PCB design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer solves the problem of having to juggle multiple tools for PCB design by providing an all-in-one solution. It integrates schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation into a single platform, which simplifies the design process and keeps everything organized.
Large amount of functions and modern user interface
What do you like best about the product?
I use Altium every day. The large amount of functionality is pretty good and also the possibility to do personal settings into detail helps a lot for optimize the individual user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
No big problems until now. That´s why I haven´t had contact to Customer Support until now. Only price of Altium is pretty high.

We design electrical schematics and PCBs with Altium
Altium 365 We love it, will you?
What do you like best about the product?
Overall I am quite pleased with what Altium has put forth. We have really liked the service, support and efficiency that Altium has provided our company. It has too many incredible features for us to dive into, but I recommend anyone in the field of electronics or related professional to use Altium 365.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the issues we had with Altium is surprisingly the application having TOO many incredible features. Its comprehensive features and integration can be daunting for newcomers, making it challenging to learn quickly. Additionally, the subscription price might be viewed as relatively expensive compared to other PCB design software, but it may vary depending on your organization.

Altium 365's feature of cloud based real time collaboration makes it so easy for our teams to collaborate as well as share projects with our customers. It's Great!
A Student's Perspective on a Powerful Tool with Some Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
Altium 365’s collaboration features really make a difference, allowing seamless teamwork on designs in real-time. The cloud-based access is a big plus, letting me work from anywhere without worrying about local storage. Also i appreciate the ease of integration and implementation and how it handles data management and version control automatically, which saves a lot of hassle. The centralized component libraries are super convenient, and generating manufacturing outputs is a smooth process, minimizing errors,
i have been using Altium365 since spetamber 2023 using my student licence.

What do you dislike about the product?
I’ve faced some issues while using Altium 365, like trouble accessing the portal through portal365.altium.com. There were times when I couldn’t log in or access my projects, which was really frustrating, especially with deadlines approaching. Importing PCBs into Altium Designer also wasn’t always smooth; I had problems where imports failed or didn’t come through completely, requiring manual fixes. These challenges, along with occasional stability issues, can sometimes disrupt the workflow, with the help of the comunity and customer support i manged to fix these errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I could access my projects without relying on outdated portable gadgets. Most of the time, I use my personal PC at home, but since I can’t take my PC outside, I rely on lab PCs when I’m at university. This flexibility really enhances my workflow, allowing me to pick up where I left off no matter where I am.
Altium 365: The Ultimate PCB Tool for Learners and Pros
What do you like best about the product?
I've been learning Altium 365 for a while now, and it has been fun. After searching for a good PCB ECAD software, I found Altium was the most recommended too and probably has the best learning resources and tutorials. Therefore, I went for Altium 365. User-base is also bigger than others, which is pretty helpful when you need to ask somebody. The GUI is intuitive and everything is well integrated. Component libraries are pretty extensive. That makes it a comprehensive and powerful PCB design tool, and working with it is always fun. Plus, they keep updating it with new features, which is always a plus. As a student, you get a free standard license for such an expensive software, which was the most attractive factor for me to go for it.
Overall, Altium 365 is definitely a solid choice for PCB design and I highly recommend Altium 365 to both beginners and seasoned professionals in the field.

What do you dislike about the product?
The software is demanding on hardware and can take some time to load. Additionally, the subscription model has become increasingly expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single goto software for PCB design which helps to carry out works efficiently.
Great Way of collaborating and working with teams on projects
What do you like best about the product?
Altium 365 gave us the ability to work in colabration with teams. It helped us to share projects at a single space, review schematics, mark changes and comments directly in the schematic space which gets updated at designer end in Altium Desktop. It also helped to keep files organised and manage project backups and releases.
What do you dislike about the product?
When using altium 365, we sometimes get a error message saying connecting at Altium Desktop app, and when that is happening the whole UI hangs and I am unable to do anything on desktop app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solved our problem for storage of project files and allowing us to view them from anywhere without the need of Altium Destop App.
Altium Designer, THE GOOD ECAD
What do you like best about the product?
Altium Designer is hands down one of the best tools out there for PCB design. The way it keeps adding new features and tools just makes life so much easier. The whole design experience is smooth, and the ERC (Electrical Rule Check) is like having a buddy who catches your mistakes before they turn into big problems. I really love using harnesses—they make connecting everything so much cleaner and more straightforward.
One of my favorite things is how you can create libraries straight from existing schematics. It saves so much time and hassle, cutting out a lot of repetitive work. The multilayer interface is also super easy to work with, letting you manage complex designs without losing your mind. Altium Designer just gives you that feeling of control, making it easier to get your projects right the first time.

What do you dislike about the product?
As much as I love Altium Designer, it's not all sunshine and roses. The learning curve can be pretty brutal, especially when you're just starting out. The massive UI, while packed with tools, can feel overwhelming at first. I think having more informative tooltips as a default would be a huge help for new users. It would make navigating the software a lot easier and save people from constantly hunting for what they need.
Another thing that could be improved is the design check process. It’s powerful, but it’s not the most user-friendly. For someone new to ECAD, it can be tough to figure out all the tools at your disposal, and that can lead to wasted time and a lot of frustration. Making this process more intuitive would go a long way in keeping users sane as they get up to speed.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer is solving the problem of complexity in PCB design. Whenever I think of something that could make my design process easier, Altium already seems to have a tool or feature ready to go. It's like they’ve anticipated every potential roadblock. When I start researching how to tackle a specific issue, Altium often has a solution that transforms what could have been a chaotic mess into a neat, organized circuit diagram.
This benefit is huge for me because it takes the stress out of designing. Instead of getting lost in the weeds of endless options and potential mistakes, I can rely on Altium to simplify the process. It turns what could have been a disaster into something straightforward and manageable, saving me time and a lot of headaches.

Hands down the best collaborative ECAD system
What do you like best about the product?
With a team of 20-30 engineers, being able to work together simultaneously, give feedback, share common components and schematics and easily export for manufacturing, altium 365 offers the most well rounded solution to all of our ECAD problems
What do you dislike about the product?
There are very few downsides, however we have occasionally experienced outages of our 365 workspace, and generally support were quick to help but there are times it was down for a longer period without help
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to altium, we didn't use a proper system for managing version control, instead people would work locally and use a Git library of components. Now everything is integrated which ensures consistency across all projects
