Very easy to use once several concepts and practice set in
What do you like best about the product?
The multiple tools it offers for every need the designer may have. It is easy to learn and to download.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not collaborative with my limited license.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed me to design my own PCBs for my final thesis project.
Very Easy to Use and Comprehensive
What do you like best about the product?
Altium Designer is amazing!
- The web viewer is very convenient when I want to quickly show my design to a colleague
- The software is incredibly optimized, it runs smoothly on my less-capable devices
- The schematic and PCB editors are very intuitive and easy to use

What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few minor nitpicks:
- Creating library components is very repetitive and complicated, there are definitely ways to streamline the process
- There's no ability to replace "manufacturer part search" components, which makes me have to redo my layout and routing when I do need to replace them
- Some "manufacturer part search" components don't come with ECAD files when they are actually readily available online

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using Altium Designer to collaboratively design my PCB boards. It is an industry-standard tool with a plethora of resources, making it easy to solve technical issues.
Review by a new junior engineer.
What do you like best about the product?
I was really surprised of the shortcut and the cleaning controls. One of the upside is the f1 button, really comfortable. It's a really powerful software that allows you to do everything regarding the pcb design.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that i disliked the most is the user interface, sometimes I struggle to find a function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I develpoed electronic board and I think is the best software to do it.
Experience as a beginner with Altium Designer
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part about Altium Designer its the ways you can interact easily with the software, the selection and implementation of devices happens in a smooth way, you get to know almost all the features and parameters of every part, so the integration of new parts to the project requieres no effort. Also, when you find with no clue about a characteristic of the software, you can find a lot of advices and support, so you can learn in a fast way what do to in every case
What do you dislike about the product?
For me, it may be the way you add footprints to the devices, the management of libraries and that you can't make operations with the values of the cells at the BOM, I believe that would make a easier to preset the report to the team and managers involved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem that Altium helps to solve at my team is the cost estimation of the boards, cause the company works with different suppliers and the information about the cost is an important key to take actions.
The ease of collaboration seems top of the world.
What do you like best about the product?
Apart from the best features in Industry that altium offers, the ease of collaboration and working together is unmatched. I remember my time working on a project and my proffesor had some injuries due to which he couldn't be in person to guide us. Thanks to altium we were able to collaborate through Altium 365 workspace and there was no delay at all in finishing it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Come on, do I really have to answer this question. I mean, I got no dislikes most of the time. But one thing I would like to suggest to altium is to Introduce a version for linux based machines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The inclusion of vast libraries and the ease of importing components is the thing I like the most about Altium. ECAD designer software though allows similar features but they seem less intuitive and hard to work with. Apart from this the UI/UX of the product seems classy and stylish.
An Excellent PCB Design Software
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy using Altium Designer for building multi-layer PCBs. Its built-in hierarchical sheets make schematic annotation very straightforward even for complex designs. Moreover, Altium 365 makes collaboration very easy when working on projects with multiple team members. It also has advanced PCB design tools for flex PCBs, etc that are not found in other platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI can be a bit overwhelming for a beginner but it is made up for by Altium's free PCB Basic Design course for students.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer has been used for designing Payload PCBs by the Notre Dame Rocketry Team. Primarily, this software was chosen because it allows easy collaboration and version control when multiple people are working on the same project thanks to Altium 365 workspaces.
Altium has helped me to further my knowledge in pcb circuit board layout and design.
What do you like best about the product?
Altium has helped me further my knowledge of pcb circuit board layout and design. I have been able to advance in the business world as well, allowing me to take on more contracts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the strange auto-routed traces.

Sometimes the speed is not very good
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am desiging PCBs and sharing the projects with my colleagues. My supervisor can review my designs. At the same time I can work on different parts of the same project with my team
Altium 365 Smooth and Fast!
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to naviagte and good intergration with ciruitmaker project from past projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes tutorials are can be hard to find extaly what you are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Liberaries always are up to date.
An amazing but expensive piece of software
What do you like best about the product?
Altium is in my experience the best EDA software. It has all the features you need while being extremely stable. I would recommend Altium to everyone. It may not be easy to navigate some menus due to amount of settings available but it is worth it in the end. Altium provides flexible and well-working solutions to all problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not easy to learn. I feel like Altium Education and Documentation need improvement. It may be useful to add Interactive tutorials to the software. I find libraries problematic. While the built-in libraries cover most of the components the 3rd party addons for converting libraries to Altium's format are broken. I believe that Altium could use a better library import utility. Also pricing for Altium products is not flexible. Many companies choose other solutions due to high prices. I believe that Altium should have a more basic tier for small companies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have never worked at a company big enough to fully utilize Altium 365. Cloud-based PCB design is not useful for small companies/ small projects. If pricing was more flexible, smaller companies would be compelled to use more Altium products.
