Easy to use and powerfull, also the coustumer service its so good
What do you like best about the product?
Ease to use, Ease of implemantation, Customer Support,
What do you dislike about the product?
For my computer it is a little heavy and takes more than 3 minutes to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Altium in my design classes and it helps me show students how to make good PCBs.
I was amazed about the capabilities and complexity that the softwares offers
What do you like best about the product?
The nice and good documentation that it offers, and the tons of different parameters that can be modified. It is also obvios that is has been developed together with users and this information has been considered in the integration and implementation on the modules which make the software easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
That not all of the modules in the online libraries have a footprint or 3D modell, maybe it would be better if a requirement for a modell would be those features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to develop the PCB that I need in a pretty user-friendly developer environment
THE BEST TOOL ON THE MARKET FOR PROFESSIONAL PCB
What do you like best about the product?
capability to manage everything on schematics and circuits
What do you dislike about the product?
it's not easy to start, it'd be better a semplified tool that leads beginner users

Altium Design for use in Student Design Teams.
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Altium is all the features that it has. You can easily go from idea, to schematic, to PCB all within Altium. It also has extra features that are super nice, such as the Manufacturer Part Search and an ActiveBOM that keep track of everything working together. Altium is also really great for collaboration and workspaces; no longer do I need to fumble around with Git, I can just get right into action and tell my peers to open the project from the workspace. It's a great way to get straight into PCB design with low hassle. This is especially useful in our student design team, as we have a shared component library and we have tens of projects ongoing at the same time. Anyone can review anyone's project, and Git history makes it super easy to look at changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite part is definitely component selection. I feel this process could be simplified a lot, and doesn't have to be so complex. Simply say which component you want, a custom template appears, and it easily links to any manufacturer part. For example, if I want a 0805 12ohm resistor, I really want to be able to select a 0805 footprint template and choose that it's 12ohms. Then, Altium can just find a suitable resistor for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need many PCBs created, such as power distribution boards, motor controllers, battery management systems, anti-sparks, precharge circuitry, remote controls, etc... Altium has all the features that we need to make every single one of these PCBs. It's fully integrated and once you make one PCB it is really easy to transfer your skills to make the next one.
Altium is my favourite electronics design tool to use.
What do you like best about the product?
Great colaborations within electronics teams as well as with mechanical teams. Teams can easily and seamlessly work together on designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need an internet connection to work on Altium 365. It is not possible to work offline and sync later, the connecting pinwheel keeps popping up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating and sharing my electronic designs with the mechanical designers. Interfitment has never been as convenient and easy as it is with MCAD and Altium 365.
Machanical integration and ECO was the first and now I think is the best
What do you like best about the product?
ECO work very well and also libraries are very complete
What do you dislike about the product?
The TOC is very expensive, you need several days just to understand how to place a component on the board, 1 year to be productive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mastering multilayer PCB with signal integrity and impedance controlled traces is very helpfull.
3D clearence and mechanical integration also help me a lot when fitting enclosures is needed.

Altium 365
What do you like best about the product?
Altium 365 makes collaboration and organisation when working on multiple projects and with multiple team members much easier. Altium continues to add additional features which make designers lives easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Performance has stedily declined over the years and bugs and crashes have become more prevalent. Customer support is very slow if refered to your local agent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to design complex PCB's in a short time and is relatively easy to teach to junior.
Very intuitive and well integrated!
What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive UI which is based on interacting with objects as opposed to commands. It's a joy making beautiful schematics and PCBs. The other top features are Draftsman and the project packager. You can generate ALL output files with a single click, and Draftsman finally allows ASM/FAB drawings to be designed outside of the PCB editor. The seamless workflow of Altium designer is truly one of its greatest assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't hit any issues. In fact, they take feature requests and bug reports and constantly roll out updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a consultant, the amount of time it saves in the design process allows me to deliver great, timely results to clients without much waste
Highly capable program for PCBA design, but with a substantial learning curve
What do you like best about the product?
All in one end to end functionality, including parts library database, schematic entry, detailed rule assignments, good support for hierarchial designs, built-in line impedance calculator and signal analysis, flexible PCB parameters.
What do you dislike about the product?
it can be very difficult to find certain functions, and I still have not found a clean way of doing batch/ global operations to for instance lock all entities on a PCB (I typically use the PCB tab and lock the items by category), reconcile all part instances in a design with the libararies, re-assigning component IDs on the fly (and updating the SCH accordingly), and the confusing operation of the Pad & Via Templates library (and the way vias are handled as a whole: no convenient way to update vias on the PCB with vias in the Pad & Via Templates library, no way to specifiy stacked microvias, etc.).
Also the on-line documentation is written from a top down perspective, which makes it exceedly difficult to resolve issues encountered while running the program. There needs to be a solid, well maintained help portal which aggregates solutions for the many issues users encounter.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a fully integrated package for complex PCB design, and it serves this purpose.
The most complete PCB design tool
What do you like best about the product?
All the integrations it has developed with the years. I've been using Altium Designer for many years now, I love how easy to use it is, the design environment is easy to handle and customize. Every year they add new features and have been improving the existing ones to make it a powerful and complete design tool. Draftsman, their documents design and automation tool is a big hit for this software suite, now I can automatically build documentation for my designs. I use Altium Designer on all of my PCB designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would not complain at all of the software suite, I do think it is an expensive tool, and would really love to be more affordable so that I can use it for personal purposes. An observation about the Draftsman tool, the scrolling needs to be improved, it is too difficult to scroll between pages, a 9 pages document is a real pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We design our products, Altium Designer has been of such a great help for circuit and PCB designs. This is the to-go tool for all of our designs.
