Altium Hates Their Users
What do you like best about the product?
Good question!
I do not have an answer.
I do not have an answer.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's expensive.
It's always CHANGING so you can't rely on your PREVIOUS experience using it.
That STUPID Integrated Component Library is not MANDATORY to use. I can't find any of the OLD library parts anymore!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Their stupid Integrated Component Library makes the job 10x harder. I find it impossible to use at all. I'm going to QUIT my job to get away from this CRAPPY tool my company INSISTS on using; let THEM deal with Altium's crappy attitude. Altium must HATE its customers.
One of the most versatile software packages for hardware engineers
What do you like best about the product?
Altium is very intuitive and has a fast learning curve for new users. It helps with the integration of the electrical and mechanical designs and helps the engineers to communicate between different fields much easier. Transfer of schematics changes to PCB is as seamless as it can get and there are new features added to make life easier for hardware engineers with every update.
The team supporting us is very responsive and we have had a very good experience working with them. I was originally a hardware engineer using this product and as I moved into management, I have found that the team supporting the product, are even better than the software itself.

What do you dislike about the product?
The process of co-terming the licenses we have for my team could have taken less time. it's just a quality of life improvement and did not have any impact on productivity...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Schematic designs, Layout (PCB) design, exports for manufacturing, checking the mechanical compatibility of the boards by importing the mechanical enclosures, ...
Excellent tool for electronics devices and hardware designing.
What do you like best about the product?
There are many features which are best compare to any other hardware designing tool but we are using nit all of them some of features we are using in our project and personally I likes are belows.
3d simulation of PCB design after final circuit assembly., multiple board assembly, FPGA designs, other tool integration. And main realistic visualisation of designs. Etc
3d simulation of PCB design after final circuit assembly., multiple board assembly, FPGA designs, other tool integration. And main realistic visualisation of designs. Etc
What do you dislike about the product?
Not sure exactly and can't compare with other tool in this industry cause its one of the best tool for hardware designing. But 3d visualisation can be lool into feature. But not bad all good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefiting me in our Projects for designing and developing electronics pcbs and hardware. With integration of MCAD and other designing tools.
Powerful tool extends beyond schematic and PCB design
What do you like best about the product?
Altium Design allows not only schematic and PCB design, with mechanical and harnesses integration in one suite, it allows for system level design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Altium license management can be difficult to understand and at time, seem conflict to the purchased license agreement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With multiboard project, electrical, mechanical and harnesses integration in a system is easier to manage and able to identify system integration issue earlier in the development, such as fitment, placement and other potential issue that may arise when developing a product. Save cost and time to identify system integration issue before proceeding with prototyping.
Complex PCB Designing Platform/tool by Altium
What do you like best about the product?
Most helpful feature about Altium designer for us that it's different integrations and collaboration with various CAD tools such as MCAD and ECAD for mechanical and electrical product designing. Other features that I personally like schematic diagrams for PCB designing and various footprint files for components. And simulation of design models.
What do you dislike about the product?
Complexity of uses but overtime and experience no issues great tooo for simulation design testing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business problem such as 3d MID and MCAD designing. High speed performance.
Overall Good
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility, Wide Rage of Features, Professional Results, MCADCodesigner for Ecad-Mcad synchronization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some bugs and quirks but most get corrected by subsequent product releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to generate professional looking documentation, Active BOM helps us keep up to date on supply chain issues
Always Improving
What do you like best about the product?
The thing I've liked best about Altium Designer is that I truly feel that they are working hard to improve the product for what the users want. Over the past few years I have submitted a few new ideas to their support team and nearly all of them are now in the product or in development.
Altium is definitely pushing the industry forward with their partnerships with great offerings such as MCAD, multi board design, and improved BOM tools. These new features are easy to use and provide immediate benefit to our workflow.

What do you dislike about the product?
None. It's so much better than other tools I've used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are helping solve sourcing and compliance issues.
Cloud access works great for communicating design across multiple disciplines
What do you like best about the product?
Web access is helpful and the xprobing is seemless
What do you dislike about the product?
The file management of generating symbols/ footprints is not as straigntforward as it should be in my opinion.
The learning curve for knowing where all the appropriate buttons are can be daunting at first.
The learning curve for knowing where all the appropriate buttons are can be daunting at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation, versioning, and communication to team members is a strong point.
Altium Designer
What do you like best about the product?
Cross-checking between the schematic and pcb portions of designs is great. Libraries are easy to manage and there are many options for structuring and presenting them. Filtering objects and navigating the pcb is fantastic. (Layer/object visualization options). Project structuring is also very good. Export options, especially for BOMs, is great. The native scripting options, that allow access to almost every detail of every object, is excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Electrical spacing rules can't be applied to 3d bodies. This is important because we (and many other companies) have safety spacing rules to follow that can't be automatically enforced with the absence of this feature. Aligning 3d bodies and measuring in 3d is difficult. Documentation for scripting is almost non-existent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's improved our ability to hold to design rules more effectively, and has greatly improved our ability to integrate with our mechanical team.
Best I've used
What do you like best about the product?
Altium is a valued tool for our team. Using 365, we can easily share design details with non-designers. New features are added at a reasonable pace, such as the Harness design tool and Draftsman that allow documentation to be generated cleanly and efficiently.
The Altium team is responsive to tickets and provides coherent resolutions.
Passing design information to Ansys tools such as HFSS is straightforward and actively improving.

What do you dislike about the product?
Altium is expensive. There are occassional stability issues that will result in degraded performance, especially on low-spec hardware. When viewing large boards with a lot of layers and many 3D components the renderer does struggle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium provides the capability to design PCBs and produce documentation to manufacture them successfully. Altium also provides simulation capability.
