Very powerful software
What do you like best about the product?
It is a complete tool which allows to develop every step of electronic design, from symbol and footprint creation to the generation of the output data. More pro than other softwares
What do you dislike about the product?
The licenses are way too expensive, they make it unaffordable for physical persons. It takes a long time to fix a bug since it is reported. Long time to execute for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The design of our products, their maintenance, the ease of cadout generation by using outjobs files, the draftsman to let the manufacturer know the specs of the board and panel...
Effective cooperation environment
What do you like best about the product?
Continous improvements and expand in functionalities. General philosophy for cooperation between different departments within organization using web version of Altium365.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major problem for now is the fact that all managed files and data from workspace (components libraries, templates, footprints etc.) must be stored at external Altium servers (no possibility to store on company servers).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing templates, component libraries, footprints and output jobs for whole engineering team, which provided standarization across few projects and teams within company.
I mostly check and edit shared libraries
What do you like best about the product?
I am impressed how easy is to share my work with other team members
What do you dislike about the product?
Locking libraries item for editing is unable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Libraries sharing is much easier than in previous solution (SVN).
Easily accessible
What do you like best about the product?
Web accessibility is one of the advantages of Altium 365. It's easy to manage library or browser projects. Also, nice way to communicate with coworkers.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, disadvantage of altium 365 is lack of easy local backup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adding comments and solving issues with revived projects.
I have one year experience with Altium 365.
What do you like best about the product?
Component library, schematic version control, comments, team work, project template in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not possible to lock a new component in library after verification by other users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Components library in one place for all users in my team. Project templates in one place with version control.

What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation in PCB could be more fluent.
Cross reference between Schematics and PCB could be improved as well.

Evolution
What do you like best about the product?
Hello, I like Altium 365 for her simplificación for use, an it's cert isseu to use and send to others people. The organización IS isseu and is esay to look the information.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the opcions to search t'he projects or information. Or the options of configuration the people use or viuwer us dificult. I don't like the organización of folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's not possible to use more simplified short curs to use the Altium 365, i haver a very younger user. It's posible I don't use the Altium 365 correctly her funtions.
combining the work of electronics and mechanics
What do you like best about the product?
Shearing 3D documentation between colleagues, updating the documentation and having a quick acces to it. I also like the new feature of sharing the CAD design between CAD programs and Altium. It makes the work much quicker.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like it to have an option to simplify the PCB design before exporting it to step file. ( usually not using most components of the pcb during CAD work) .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes the cooperation of mechanics and electronics much faster, simpler and more efficient. It also provides easy acces to documentation for people who don't use Altium on daily basis.
Friendly and intuitive online collaboration with Altium 365
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Altium in my daily job for about 10 years, but the introduction of Altium 365 meant an undeniable improvement in terms of collaboration between different people/departments, both internally in the company and for sharing designs with clients. It's extremely easy now to share the design in any of its phases.
The most useful feature for us is that Altium 365 allows to include any member of the company in the workspace and give them read or write access to each project or to specific projects. We use it for reviews during the design phase and also to create releases once a board is produced, so that the software department, for instance, can access anytime to any version of the project. Thus, they always have clear which HW vesrsion of the boards are in their desks, avoiding lots of misunderstandings for small design changes between versions.
In addition, these users don't consume any license, so the designers can continue working without any problem.
Ocassinaly we also use Altium 365 to share the design with customers. They only need a free Altium account. This way we waste less timepreparing and sending the project files to our customers.
Another good point about Altium 365 is the possibility to push the design directly to the mechanical department, thereby eliminating the need to create tedious step files.

What do you dislike about the product?
On the other hand, Altium put a lot of effort into the control of versions and releases of the full product, which is absolutely unnecessary for us since, in our company, we have our own version control system using SVN. It even becomes a problem when a project folder is versioned using both systems. A commit using Altium software doesn't always upload the files to both systems. It always uploads the file to SVN, but not always to the Altium git.
Our problem is that we need both systems in parallel, SVN in order to meet our internal requirements and Altium 365 for the collaborative use we make of it. Additionally, our standard nomenclature doesn't match with the Altium nomenclature for releases, so we can not easily integrate both.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past we had a lot of conversion problems between the STEP files generated by Altium and the imported result by our mechanical team sofware. Now, with just one click the design is pushed to the mechanical team and they can also go back with modifications and so. That is a significant time saving.
Easy to use with very useful features for sharing projects with other people.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use is one of the key aspects. In our case it is very useful to import PCB data to Solidworks using the Mcad Codesigner feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
It does not work well if you are using SVN as versioning system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problems that it is solving are:
-Being able to share schematic+pcb
-Ease integration Altium/Solidworks
