Fast and Easy Design with good Search of manufacturers components
What do you like best about the product?
Very usefull for Design Layout. Perfect functions such as; Routing, Component searching of lots of manufacturers, good DRC and Verification of layout and circuit
What do you dislike about the product?
CIM database doesn't support for Altium, it needs to be linked with other databases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Update the Database softwares to linked in altium Designer.
Altium 365 is my Favorite so far.
What do you like best about the product?
Continuity between parts, projects, layout, and schematic capture. Seemless integration, Selection of new parts is made simple. Extremely satisfied.
Ive used ORcad, KiCad, EWB, Eagle, NI Design Suite, but Altium 365 is my favorite.

What do you dislike about the product?
A little uneasy with everything being on the cloud, however, logic tells me its safer than our internal servers.
Not always intuitive enough. Getting a little too complicated as features are added.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects. Storing past projects, etc.
Easy to store one location. Easy to find old projects.
I am more productive, and performance has increased.

Seamless Cloud Storage
What do you like best about the product?
I used to use version control using github for my altium projects. It worked but not very well, and making any changes required manual pushes and viewing any actual changes to schematics or the pcb required opening the altium app. With 365 I like the ability to view everything in browser and see the 3D views. I also like the seamless integration into the altium app itself, allowing changes to be pushed just by pressing one button. Finally, I like the ability to share design files with teammates without them having to install altium, especially useful for those who have macbooks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have many complaints except that some of the features seem overwhelming to learn. For example, opening the component tab overwhelms me and I just chose to avoid using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium 365 allows me to have seamless cloud storage and backups without having to manually think about backing up files everytime I make some changes. The ability to share design files with team members who have macs (cannot run altium) or those who do not want to install an entire app is very useful. We also occasionally use altium 365 to share design files with suppliers.
Never going back to Cadence
What do you like best about the product?
With MCAD Co-designer, working with my mechanical engineering coleagues has never been easier.
When designing schematics, Altium 365 compoenent library with its 1+ million components is making the design process flow smoothly and helping me stay focused on what matters most, instead of having to stop everythgin and create the component myself.

What do you dislike about the product?
The show/hide annimations of the side menus are slow and distracting. I wish there was an option to turn them off, so the appearance of the side menu is snappy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing and collaborating has never been easier. I can outsource certain parts of the projects, like layour for example, and it doesn't feel like I am working with an outside company:
- I can track progress without asking or exchaning project files over email.
- I can identify issues or request changes to the layout early.
- I don't need to be the middle man between our mechanical team and the layout engineer.

Experience about Altium 365
What do you like best about the product?
I used Altium 365 for my Masters degree. Altium was the second PCB designing software I used. For a beginner, I would say Altium is a good start. Its convinient and easy to use. Its auto routing feature helps with simple designs. Also, the Design Rule Check is also pretty accurate. Currently using Altium just for fun projects. Using Altium is fun!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to complain about. One point I like to make is to encourage corporate companies to use Altium by giving discounts (if possible). It helps in high-speed/mixed-signal design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For a beginner, Altium is the most easy software to use. It helps in layout massively especially if you are working with high-speed/mixed-signal design. Even from PCB manufacturing point of view, I have seen less mistakes done by the PCB manufacturer by using Altium Gerber files than other software gerber files. So it helps you with less debugging of the board, and saves cost of re-spinning the board. Currently doing hobby projects seldomly using Altium.
Easy to learn usign concepts from other ECAD tools
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and you can quickly pick up from experiences that you have from other ECAD tools. Linked to online websites such digikey and mouser for components search. Lots of training material can be found on youtube to ease the use. Allow multi user to share and review design files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Higher cost when comparing to other ECAD tools in the market, such as Cadence, which is frequently used in multinational company. Unable to convert Cadence files without Cadence to export.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allow multiple users collaborate such as share and review the design files
It's easy to use, but there are still some areas that feel lacking in detail.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to check a 3D model similar to the actual implemented board.
The ability to set from which number the designator numbers start depending on the page.
Previously, when placing a resistor on a wire, it was necessary to modify the wiring, but now overlapping wires are automatically deleted.
The ability to easily paste images onto the schematic.
The advantage of being able to design seamlessly without the need to output a netlist and pass it to PCBCAD.
It's good that the destination of signals is easy to understand.
Compared to OrCAD, it's easier to create symbols (easy editing of shapes and adjustment of placement intervals).
December 2023 Addendum
Simulation has become more user-friendly in Altium24.

What do you dislike about the product?
The shape of the board subtly changes, and a perfect circle becomes a jagged circle (polygon).
The board shape is difficult to create (currently, it's easier to use AutoCAD, etc.).
Even when the language is set to Japanese, most of the display is in English.
When simulations are repeated many times, Altium becomes sluggish (this might be because only 16GB of memory is installed, but I want to know how much memory is actually needed, whether it's 32GB or 64GB).
It would be helpful to have a function that automatically assigns designators when components are placed (it might already exist, and I just don't know about it).
- When copying PCBDWF data created in another project in a Draftsman document, you cannot change the linked PCB data in the settings.
- While working on a PCB, accidentally pressing unintended shortcut keys can lead to spending time investigating how to revert the changes.
- When updating to Altium23, the update around the pads caused the pad setting information to be lost, forcing me to re-enter it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seamlessly transition from circuit design to PCB design, and easily output manufacturing data and implementation materials. The ease of running simulations is also a point.
Very efficient CAD software for beginners to advanced Electronic Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
I really liked the implementation of the altium 365 cloud.
About the qualities, the interface is very cleaned.
Altium provides better management of logic and layout.

What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, when routing, you may change parameters and the screen will move in one direction on its own. You lose the thread.
This part should be corrected so that floating properties can be used.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
many things like differential pairs routing, rf impedance matching, schematic drc checker.
Things like this permit to be more efficient in producing a pcb board.

What do you dislike about the product?
Library component editing is not particularly inutuitive.Library updates do refresh immediate into the design.
Library directory structure is confusing.
Library directory structure is confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is my main design tool for creating circuits and pcbs. The drafstman system has become very useful in manufacturing.
There are a number of beneficial features that enhance the collaboration and reusability.
What do you like best about the product?
Schematic sheet reuse along with saved layout. As well as online collaborative review capabilities. Both of these feaures allow creating of new boards at a much faster pace.
What do you dislike about the product?
That we are unable to self host features we want to keep local. Such as reusable circuits being the primary culperate. We work in military and aerospace applications, and as such, there are requirements for us to keep data on-site. And this means we struggle to use 365 due to the lack of self-hosting options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to transfer circuit designs and layout from one design to new boards much more easily when we can actually use this feature, as we need the ability to soft host data for many projects.
