What do you dislike about the product?
The large number of features are released sometimes withtout an extensive feature and regression testing.
Sometimes a new addition breaks functionality or feel incomplete.
There are some improvements that are largely due but, in our opinion, they are not receiving the needed focus
- There are just too many ways to work with component libraries. They are encouraging the use of online libraries that are tied to annual subscription and the never feel completely yours. Additional features (such as where used) require higher PRO subscription with additional costs. There is no easy back and forth migration path and documentation feels somehow incomplete about the viable options, their usage and their pros and cons.
- Some UI features could be vastly improved (such as IPC footprint generator, where you have to click several times to switch between pages and calculate by hand when parameters are given in different format in datasheets. Some competitors have a much cleaner UI);
- A real time collaboration feature on schematic and PCB (where each user connected to the workspace could make changes at the same time) would be a game changer but it is still not implemented;
- Some features feel hacky, such as assignment of SPICE models to components, GIT style commits for mechanical CAD interchange, or identification of connectors in multi board designs;
- Sometimes importing configuration from older versions make the system unstable;
- Price tag is high and additional features came at a cost (CDN analisys and PRO subscription in addition to standard subscription).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PCB schematic, CAD and CAM editing is solid and very well designed.
In the years, we designed more than 200 circuits, some of them with controlled impedance, differential pairs, high speed, on-pcb radio antennas, multi layer and high density. We were able to work starting from reference designs in other formats when we needed to.
We never experienced issues in documentation output generation.

A useful and simple tool for requirement and component handling with good integration for tests
What do you like best about the product?
Building a system BOM with requirements linked and the possibility of setting up related tests and testprocedures are one of the main benefits
What do you dislike about the product?
A bit buggy for some features and cumbersome weight condition tracking, we would see the need for a more automated center of gravity integration as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single source of truth for a system configuration and the related requirements. Lowering the information threshold across teams
Modern tool for concurrent design
What do you like best about the product?
It is great that as soon as a parameter value is updated, the calculations re-run without the need to trigger them manually. Plus, there are a lot of materials available online on how to do different things in Valispace and the examples are very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far it seems that the most developed views are tables, the graphs viewpoints for instance could be more interactive, not just for visualization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Valispace eases up the process of creating group projects, all the members have access to the latest information. In addition to this, the fact that reports can be created through Valispace is a great benefit.
Useful systems engineering tool with the potential to be very powerful
What do you like best about the product?
That I can connect requirements with Valis and assign a validation method and keep an eye, I also like very much that I can declare calculations and see interconnections with valis.
What do you dislike about the product?
That is the interaction is not instinctive and not obvious. For example, if I cannot do something because of permissions then it doesn't tell me that it is because of that...just the function is blocked...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementation of scripts with my Valispace version. It benefits me because then I can use code in Valispace which I think is very powerful.
Altium design is a great ECAD software
What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface and how easy it is to use as well as the variety of help guides altiums offers
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the tool does more than enough that I need it for so there are a lot of buttons and functions that get unused and at times lead me into a rabbit hole
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's solving the systems/processes within the business that I work in. Components can be created and stored which is very handy as well as it's very easy to design
relatively low price compared to other similar software but not mature yet
What do you like best about the product?
web interface, friendly help desk, API, nice and clear tutorials, possibility to create quite complex multiproject structure usink linking feature, extension of standard requrment managment system by incorporation of Valis
What do you dislike about the product?
very immature project handling, not possible to copy project and create baselines (with possibility to revert it), features like Valis have sometimes problems to be properly loaded
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
support of whole system design pipeline, recruitment management system, testing and verification, automated reporting, weight, cost, power budget calculation, system architecture
Valispace is a data driven software very accessible and visual
What do you like best about the product?
Interesting data driven software, accesible and with immediate results. I do like the use of formulas and the logic behind it, and the fact that you can integrate code through an API
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat lacking in certain areas if you are going to use it for specific applications. For example, selecting the time step in time simulations, the lack of options representing the evolution of system modes, and not being able to represent several parameters at the same time in a graph in this same module.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining technical budgets and documentation available at the same space, quickly visualizing the general state of a project and maintaining trazeability of a lot of requirements are very strong points.
PCB CAD with lots of features
What do you like best about the product?
Part integration of manufacturer catalogues reduces the amount of time I need to spend on part creation and footprint design.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many features it is hard to keep track of everything that is going on. The program is not always stable, and program crashes in the middle of designing can be a real headache.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manufacturer part tracking and distributer inventory.
Valispace supports good Systems Engineering practices
What do you like best about the product?
Valispace has a modern interface and enables quick creation and modifying of requirements. It supports good tracability practices and allows you to see the connections between requirements to ensure proper flow down has taken place. There are additional layers of functionality that we are not yet using, but I like that the tool will support additional use-cases as we grow in need. I can manage multiple specifications in the same project (with the same structure as our output documents) and I can complete traceability between specs. The Valispace support team is excellent - they are responsive and will conduct training for me or colleagues to be sure we get the best out of the tool. They have also gone the extra mile to be sure we can import requirements from documents and streamline our startup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting inside of a requirement is still limited (only simple tables, one level of numbered items, no numbered lists using letters as number). As a frequent user of valispace, I have now an understanding of the layout, setup, and how to navigate within the system. Novice or less-frequent users have trouble navigating the workspaces and projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Valispace supports our requirements engineering, enabling quick requirement input, and, more importantly, sharing and review between employees. There are review and comment functions which will help us to be sure we don't miss something in our requirements.

What do you dislike about the product?
Cons:
- No real-time support available (ie, a chat). Submitting a question online results in an answer next business day.
- Some features our team would find useful are not available (capability to edit markup language, clear linking between relevant comment and text in Analysis blocks, receiving notifications for new comments only, custom ordering of components)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small team developing an experiment that requires coordination between many different researchers. ValiSpace provides a good balance between our budget and requirements.
