Altium Complete PCB/Schematic Design Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I find the outstanding aspect of Altium is their support. Altium designer is a complex development environment and having quick support helps to reduce time lost.
What do you dislike about the product?
No programable logic development with the increased use of programable logic it is an import part of schematic development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work as a consulting engineer providing development services. In this space time is money wasted time is lost income. Altium support helps me to minimise my lost time.
Altium Designer help my business to grow
What do you like best about the product?
Altium Designer help me to manage my hardware projects and speed the release of documentation for the PCB production and PCB assembly. The tools and 3D protypation decrease production error and reduce drastically the time to market.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hope that Altium consider to release in very near future a version for Windows on Arm and Apple MacOS. Also tools for iPhone and IPad are missed, that can help work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer help me to manage all the project and production process of electronics product and also permit to release and simply maintain documentation for the PCB production and PCB assembly.

It can be a bit awkward at times

Absence of some systems engineering activities (e.g. functional analysis)

Consistency of data
The usage is simple and intuitive. Getting started with the Valispace tool is straightforward.
What do you like best about the product?
Getting started with the Valispace tool is straightforward and not complicated. It's easy to manage requirements with the available tools and its not necessary .
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the tool hangs, especially when a larger number of requirements is stored. There is no ReqIF implemented.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy way to manage requirements in one source, without the necessity to use a comprehensive and complicated tool like DOORS. And it is possible to use some extra stuff like some analysis tools.

Setting up new PCB's is a little more complicated than I would like.

Allows me to update current designs and build production files.

automatic update of requirements with valis update

not flexible enough for creating requirements IDs (for example to change automatically the IDs after the requirements were created)
not flexible enough for creating automatic budgets (for example mass budgets take only the soc() valis, the margins are propagated but sometimes we just want to take fix margins at different levels -subsystem/system etc)

End-to-end , immediate propagation of computations, requirements management
What do you dislike about the product?
Absence of a bin to recover deleted components, random bugs that may happen

Single source for systems engineering data management, subsystems sizing, budgets, requirements organization and links with design parameters

Data Management is way easier with Valispace. It allows me to better connect and track all my system's data.
