Capabilities of higher priced software
What do you like best about the product?
3D modeling of layouts. The broad feature set allows me to do pretty much everything necessary for my current role/products.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it isn't easy to find features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows me to access my design files anywhere. Makes the files easy to share with anyone elses using Altium.
Best PCB Design Software
What do you like best about the product?
The User Interface of the software is intuitive. Online Component library, Educational Videos Uploaded Regularly for new versions and the video for tips and tricks for using the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Importing 3rd Party Custom schematics and PCB symbol is a tedious process. Not all the components symbol is available in the manufacture part search. I miss easily importing symbols from online component searches with other PCB designers. Importing Board layout is also complex in some projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Version Control and layer management were tedious with other software. Also moving components in the 3D space is the feature I like most with ALTIUM.
State of the Art in PCB design
What do you like best about the product?
It is flexible, so I can be creative, but it can automate many tedious tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't cheap and I don't care for the eternal revenue stream model.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to create boards in relatively fast turn situations and I trust that the DRC is thorough
Altium is an extremely useful and easy to use tool.

Access to MCAD collaboration makes things easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The minor downside is the cost. It is also hard to manipulate 3d step files.

Access to library components.
I am very satisfied with Altium Designer, it is a great and strong tool.

- Altium Designer is not too difficult to learn, and when you master it, you can save a lot of time to make a new design.

- I think Altium Designer should improve the Draftsman, I always have problem by zoom in and zoom out vertically and horizontally an image in Draftsman.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I see that Altium Designer is constantly improving all of the functions, like some routing functions and Draftsman. And it is very convenient for me to use it and I can save a lot of time for the design.
Great system to keep organized.
What do you like best about the product?
The component management system is top notch. I'd recommend working with an Altium specialist as early in the process to ensure you have the system setup to your liking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Altium 365 can be a bit intimidating. Take your time to familiarize yourself with all options before cementing your customizations and going live with the software for your group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had some startup issues with setting up some lifecycle management with our design, our issue. We worked with the Altium representatives to solve all our problems. We were very satisfied with the service.
Easy to use and syncing data seamless
What do you like best about the product?
The version control within Altium 365 is easy to use, and see your history of commits.
What do you dislike about the product?
Components section is a bit tideous to get up and running coming in from an older version of altium.

Version control and also the release control which allows easy debugging of the hardware to the exact version of schematics and PCBs which is used
The best tool for Hardware Design
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the software and tools provided by the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I get some bugs that close Altium unexpectedly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium helps reduce the time for design and mechanical issues with 3D.
UX and UI Rview
What do you like best about the product?
Quite an elaborate software experience with guided automation for most of the complex PCB designs ranging from the automated routing, PCB 3D view, simulation and cost breakdown.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is quite steep compared to other PCB software, and the price package may not meet the most common startup capital investments. This will be beneficial to the big companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help me solve different case study presented in the day to day life for customer-facing problems that need a quick fix to to reduce the time to market. Its amazing.
Altium has been of great use to student organizations I have been a part of.
What do you like best about the product?
I think that it is well-documented and the keyboard shortcuts are very intuitive. The support forums have been helpful in understanding error messages too. I think that Altium is the easiest-to-understand PCB designer I've seen.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the biggest downside is that it is not compatible with mac OS. Many students on our team have to dual boot or use a virtual machine which can be clunky. I also think that the Altium video tutorials could be better done. It was frustrating that many critical steps are skipped in them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For our rover's design, we are able to create custom voltage converters and microprocessor circuits. These custom boards simplify our rover and cut down on mass. It also provides invaluable experience for members to take to an internship or full time position.
