Worth the Subscription
What do you like best about the product?
Having switched to a hybrid office and work from home model 365 and its ability to synchronize between devices has become invaluable. It simplifies the work from home process and eliminates the cloud storage problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
The component management system is still a bit clunky. It has improved over the last year or so but still doesn't feel up to where I would like to see it and it could be improved so purchasing staff can use it to more easily check real time stock.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, 365 has primarily been use to solve the problems associated with a hybrid office and work from home schedule. Having also subscriped to Pro, the component templates have been incredible.

Rendering might be slow sometimes, but most of the time perfect

Easy to work remotely and interact with teams in a seemless manner.

Setup is sometimes difficult. Knowing how and where to locate certain folders is confusing.

More robust libraries. Parts availability has been a great asset to the company.
For enterprise organizations using Altium Designer, Altium NEXUS is very useful.
What do you like best about the product?
Altium NEXUS keeps the work done in Altium organized and controlled. It allows the organization to create workflow processes that help the company meet necessary compliance.
What do you dislike about the product?
For an enterprise-level tool, it is clunky and very bug-ridden. Altium is good to respond to customer needs to resolve issues, but they sometimes take too long to get fixed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Altium NEXUS we have much better design collaboration, improved component library intergrity, improved PCB design reviews and a more efficient change order process.
Altium Nexus is an excellent software for PCB design, BOM management, and schematic capture.
What do you like best about the product?
The PCB layout UI is best in class. It has intuitive features, and routing traces is very smooth. Additionally, the commenting system allows for on-the-fly notes and reviews that are very useful in a collaborative environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Frankly, the worst part about Altium is the features that don't function. There are noticeable bugs that make certain functions unusable. Issues with the project history tree, links in the help menus, etc. that can disrupt workflow and add frustration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Altium NEXUS for all of our schematic capture and PCB layout, but the biggest problem we have solved is BOM and component management. Altium integrates reviews and lifecycles into components and projects that streamline our processes significantly.

Please research the Altium service that best suits your needs, whether it be Designer, A365, or NEXUS.
Altium System Review
What do you like best about the product?
The documentation for help/assistance in Altium is impressive and much more helpful than other programs I've used. It is easy to find an answer to any question you have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Importing third-party step models from a mechanical design takes a lot of steps and sometimes comes into the tool incorrectly still. It would be nice to see that improved in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of going between PCB and schematic design as one designer is great, making the design process quicker. I also like the snapshot tool- which is an excellent tool for group reviews.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I like it and think it's an easy-to-learn tool with a lot of great online help.
lots of bugs but great features

Love the ability to have layout an schematic in the same software package.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems like every new feature introduces more bugs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We like the ability to add comments to designs and have design reviews documented. The libraries are great except it would be nice if they could be transfered to non-nexus altium designer.

Be sure to report all bugs to Altium so the tool improves.
Useful but buggy

I like how descriptive all the options are. It is very intuitive to understand and follow.

There can be many bugs at times that keep cropping up in the process of using the tool.

Having a process oriented tool

It is easy to control versions and work with the other teams simultaneously. Good communications between the SCH and the Layout if you are working at the same time.
The new feature that integrates to review of the schematic and layout is excellent to have control for the reviews, adding comments and tasks is cool.

The time to create the panel drawing in the new version is huge, I create my panels in the version 2

The working between the ECAD team and the EEs is really easy at the same time with the control of versions.
The history of changes is really good!
