System Lead
What do you like best about the product?
it is quite convenient to create new schematic symbols and customized footprints with altium
What do you dislike about the product?
it needs to use a license tool to review layout while it is not possible to do so in remote working sometimes for quick access
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
currentlly FA a low yield issue ; started with logic schematic review
Powerful - But you need to know what you want for functionality - you need to configure everything!
What do you like best about the product?
Workflows, VCS, easy distribution of components, releaser and archiving, file serving, commenting and review.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am configuring a new server setup right now - there are so many options to establish it is overwhelming at ties because of all the various ways it can be configured.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this successfully for the distribution of design standards, templates, rules - we manage, archive, control, and release all designs on the server.
Great product, support could be better for premium customers
What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly interface is very easy to use and navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is very slow to respond to issues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Altium Nexus review
What do you like best about the product?
I like the process customization part. I also enjoy a lot the commenting feature, very useful for doing reviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
I encountered quite a lot of bugs, especially on the development of process flows. I also think the PLM integration needs some improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Components database is much more solid, we have version control, backups, improved cooperative work and it provided a way for cooperation with external as well.
Altium NEXUS fulfilled the PCB Designers need
What do you like best about the product?
SCH, Layout and Library Integrated ECAD tool, Cost, PLM Integration, Good Tutorial documentation, and ECAD-MCAD Collaboration
What do you dislike about the product?
Simulation tools results are not precise, High-Speed Routing features, Concurrent Design features, and Constraint Settings setup time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The server-based PLM Integrated ECAD tool meets our needs.
Learning in Altium Nexus
What do you like best about the product?
step by step to show how using the software and video is better
What do you dislike about the product?
Project is not easy to read, and when capturing a document in another project, it is not easy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I would like to get a detail to teach lessons, and the lessons are video and detail step, every key can explain.
I would like to get a test board example, it is high-speed test board, and simple solution.
how synergy with simulation software, for examples SIwave, HFSS?

Recommendations to others considering the product:
will recommend to others for design process using Altium NEXUS, cooperating work, manage data with Nexus
All facilities we need are found in Altium.
What do you like best about the product?
Connection with other databases and make more accessible to find information about components—collaboration work.
What do you dislike about the product?
some options are not obvious but with search problem can be solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Electrical schematics, Layout, and documents for production. All in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Flexible tool, user-friendly, and has many options for creating a good electrical design.
Great potential, needs improvements
What do you like best about the product?
Team work, project and library management are great features.
Online overview of the projects and allow also online reviews makes the too adds to the tool power and flexibility.

What do you dislike about the product?
Very buggy on process definition (part release).
Common to get errors on the software, maybe for being limited to version 4.5.1 as per our approved tools.
Overall buggy but with potential for improvements.

Especially licensing is a nightmare.
What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration within the team and process flow is beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing and integrity of all software is the most problematic points. Lots of waits crashes during opening new library, or PCB , schematics, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All electronic board development process is now on Nexus.
Excellent tool for streamlining design and integration to PLM system.
What do you like best about the product?
Easily Configurable, Easily manageable, Integrates with Common PLM systems, If you are used to regular Altium, it is not much more effort to learn Nexus. Compared to other software I have used in the past, Altium is clearly on another level.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lack of integration between Variants created and what would go into a PLM system - although there is a workaround. reindexing is also an issue as systems need to be taken offline to force a reindex, only to come back online and do a reindex with the system running. It would be useful to allow for reindexing without taking down the system to not cause interuptions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The universal library is easier to set up and manage. Previously we were using a database library but this was not intuitive to all users. Collaboration between different divisions is readily available, Quality issues will continue to decrease over time, Time savings in the Creation of components and uploading to PLM are substantial. Shared building blocks with revision control expedite the design process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if your system is running on one of their Supported PLM systems and MCAD products Nexus may be a tool to enhance your business.
