it's a good software, but too expensive and sharing is way to limited
What do you like best about the product?
The features for schematics and layout are amazing. I love the new components database and how BOMs are generated. The Multi-board function is also a very good add-on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price and the limited license sharing especially during covid when everyone is working from home. Should be able to use the licenses with VPN. I feel Altium is too greedy and for the price and license limitation I am more than happy to use K-Cad.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I like the way we could import steps files into the PCB design to make sure that all are aligned. I like the net class function. There are lots of resources online for support.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have the budget and you should know that the license is limited and can't use it when working from home.

What do you like best about the product?
Extremely feature-rich design software. The impedance control and length matching are key for digital designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updates, and bugs, come a little too often these days. Too many features to expect everything to be working perfectly at all times.

Very versatile design software
What do you like best about the product?
Altium offers a wide array of design features that facilitate the implementation of complex pcb designs. Automatic bom generation and other such features are also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mixing elements from different designs can be difficult at times. Default pcb constraints for common pcb manufactuers could also be useful rather than having to manually set them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pcb design, including designs for high speed electronic circuits. In such cases, control of the pcb stack, layer properties and other such characteristics is particularly beneficial.

PCB Routing is super fast and easy.
Output file Management with OutJob.
Object inspection and the "Find similar Object".

Retro compatibility with the previous versions (The latest version can open and save in Protel99 format without any problem).

What do you dislike about the product?
A little too heavy sometimes to load.
Some random crash (but the design never breaks up).

I have been using Altium for 15 years and it's served our needs well. From simple to complex.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of integration with 3D design tools, plus I just know a lot of shortcuts
What do you dislike about the product?
i've always disliked component creation. it's always getting a bit better, but still it's my least favorite aspect of the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been successful in making sure very tight alignment issues don't bite us. We've saved spins by utilizing the 3D power of the tool.
Complete, modern and intuitive!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the GUI, the 3d viewer and the fact that there are A LOT of useful tool like impedance calculator, trace lenght tuning ecc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that if you want to hide pour you have to select the pour and click "none" and then repour when you want to show it. I'd really like to have an IBom with interactive selection for components hand soldering like kicad one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm currently designing the hardware for a 2.4 ghz automotive telemetry system. Again i realized that Altium helps in a lot of task than normally require other software.
Surprisingly Great and Complete ECAD Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Almost every day receive design tips and PCB expert technical sharing on youbtube. Multi fumction design tool suh as EE to ME tool, PDN simulation tool, online BOM tool, HDI capability fumctions tool with one time subscription. No separate license required.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unit setting dynamically change. I hope once we set, it not easily change. System should know wat is the designer want for the PCB design and schematic. For example I like to use matrix unit for PCB and footpeint desing and for symbol and schematic like to use inch.
Then, I want easy on grid setting when we add primitive element.
I suggent to have v-cut layer for panel design so that we can view it on 3D.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not need to buy third party tool to create footprint. There is a lot of free plugin for us to import library amd 3D model. And we got cloud storage for component library. This function help us to reduce library design time.
The simulation tool for PDN really help the designer to know whether the lane is big enough ànd the vias count is optimize during the design. Without this, we only depend on calculation without considering the actual layout and routing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have experienced using 3 major and very expensive PCB design tool in the market. Altium Designer not far behind. You can do the same design with Altium Designer with lower cost.
Active BOM capability you can get only with Altium Desiner and this further highlight its advantages compared to others.

Altium Designer - My Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I'm an independent consultant/contractor - I like using Altium's 365 for collaboration with clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Over the past few years, AD18, 19 & 20 had issues with being slow, sluggish - particularly with the user interface - but also with routing at times. Slowly it has gotten better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Typically, I'll design and/or layout high-frequency (RF) PCBs. One benefit that I've always enjoyed has been Altium's 3D mode - allowing me to render the PCB into a realistic view. This not only lets clients see the design's progress - but this helps me as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Altium Designer is a professional CAD tool used by many large companies - and this is my primary reason for using Altium Designer. I rely on Altium throughout the year. I like using Altium - especially since AD21 came out.

What do you like best about the product?
Using Altium since it was Protel99, due to the user-friendliness and ease of using the shortcuts. Above of all, I like the differential pair routing and length matching the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
The loading time of the software. and several bugs in new releases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
length matching in High-speed PCB design. Also, the active route saves quite a lot of time, which I had to do manually before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look out for the bugs in the new releases. Though support is responsive.
