Powerful PCB design tool that is easy to learn
What do you like best about the product?
Altiums ui is very easy to use and intuitive, and the tools such as simulation and calculators included are easy to pick up and use. I have only used eagle before and I prefer altium for it's tools and capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be frustrating some times when the program crashes or hangs up, which happens more often than I would like. This product could be improved by adding easier to follow tutorials since the ones on altiums website are sometimes outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having all the designs available on the cloud makes it easy to work on projects on different PCs and access designs from my phone if I need to pull something up quick

What do you like best about the product?
Layout , GUI, schematic design tools, PDN alalyzer, E-cad M-cad, multi board design and rigid-flex PCB design
What do you dislike about the product?
The program crashes sometimes. I hope you add PCB simulation tools like DC drop analysis.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Design of high speed data aquisition, design of FPGA boards

Add some PCB simulations such as DC drop analysis , decoupling analysis
Altium designer is an intuitive powerful tool for PCB Design
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides of Altium designer are how powerful the tool is. One particular feature is the manufacturer part search. Another part of Altium designer is the spice generator. This makes it easy to test my design and schematic within the Altium. I also love the interactive routing in Altium designer. This tool makes creating complex PCB layouts all that much simpler, which means I can focus more on troubleshooting and other issues. The layer stack manager makes it easy to perform necessary calculations.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful thing about Altium Designer is the footprint component. I find that this often does not conform to existing standards, and external software is better used. Something I wish that altium designer had was the option to work with M1 chips or Apple silicon. I would love to take advantage of this power hardware that I have and I believe that it would be super beneficial to have an ARM verison of altium designer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using Altium designer to help with my club team at University. The tools I use include the spice generator, schematics, and the PCB design tool. Another benefit to Altium designer is the packaged format of exports. This makes it easy for me to create a package I can send for review. I have realized that over other tools such as Eagle and other platforms that Altium designer gives the best all-in-one package that is out there right now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The advice that I would give is to look at what you are going to use it for. Is it for PCB Design, just schematics, or anything else? Altium is the best all in one option for anyone and it has been a very valuable asset.

What do you like best about the product?
Altium makes it possible to carry out time-consuming and complex tasks esealy and efficiently, regardless of the project. As I am part of an FSAE team, all the security, telemetry and vehicle activations are only possible due to the software
What do you dislike about the product?
The only problem I've had so far has been learning to use the software from scratch, since the amount of possibilities can leave a beginner confused, but nothing that time won't solve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium is solving a big problem that my team and I were facing using software from another company, such as the need of a better machi for the development of projects. Furthermore, in Altium we didn't face incompatibility issues between project stages, something very recurrent with the previous software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I strongly recommend the software, even for those who are starting now, it is worth learning to use it, even if it was very complicated and complex at first to understand the tools, but it has greatly improved the development of my projects

What do you like best about the product?
Altium Designer is the most advanced tool in regard to PCB Design efforts. Altium is always adding powerful new features that increase efficiency in PCB Design efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing that all Altium users consistently complain about is that new feature releases often come with bugs. However, this is acceptable to my company as we gain much more from the new features than we lose due to buggy new features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Altium Designer has enabled my company to create products on the cutting edge of PCB manufacturing technology. The performance of our design group increases with every new release of this software. Altium Designer has a very user-friendly interface and a great support community.

Altium is constantly adding new features that increase productivity. The software is reasonably priced for the features that it delivers.

All the gadgets make designing easy and complete.

I wish the templates and draftsman were easier to navigate

Designs and using customer designs to create cad files for SMT programming.
Altium has the best tools of any board design software I've used.
What do you like best about the product?
The Manufacturer Part Search tool saves me tons of time when creating a new design.

I have had difficulty using the simulation tool. I would like it to be more intuitive to use.

Our company primarily handles new designs for inventors. Altium has made this process faster, saving our customers money and making our company more competitive.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Altium is how constantly it is providing its users with new content and tools to make their life easier. For example, the relatively new Altium365 has become a very useful tool to work with a team remotely.
What do you dislike about the product?
The price of the license is a bit high, but it is totally worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am now working on the design of a Gateway that receives data from BLE devices and transfers them to the cloud. One clear benefit that I have found is that when I upload the project to Altium365, my colleagues can review it and comment on it. Then, I can take a look and make the respective changes—all this, from my home.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very useful tool; that is why it is very important to watch tutorial videos beforehand. That way, you are likely to get the best of it!
Expensive but very elegant software

Great documentation. Lots of online resources.

As a beginner the interface is quite overwhelming.

We are using Altium as a tool for designing pcbs for our Formula Student project.

Altium is straightforward to use and makes the electronic design work fun. It will help to select and build an electronic project, and it will also help to check the logic of your design work.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Altium is more compatible with other software, for example Solidworks, it is better if I could export the file directly to solidworks for any corporation purpose

We use Altium for our design work every day; it has been beneficial and provided a very detailed and organized project structure. There are many successful stories in the past.
