Altium Designer
What do you like best about the product?
The Altium Designer is a very good tool for PCB designing. It's very easy to use and the best PCB design tool for beginners. The shortcuts are easy to learn and the auto-routing option is one of the best in this type of software, which optimizes the PCB area and gives proper routing which can further be manually corrected if required.
What do you dislike about the product?
The color combination uses for the tracks and layers should be provided optional, so that one can change the color combination as per his requirement. Sometimes the software fails to auto-route the tracks and thus hangs the software, which creates a lot of problems for the designer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I basically design PCB on this software, and mostly one-sided and two-sided PCB's. This is one of the easiest PCB design software available and beginners can have a hands-on experience on this software in a quick time, as I had.
Electrical Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
As an electrical Engineer, me, highly recommending the Altium Design for all Engineers ( Espacially Electrical & Electronics Engineers. ) It's quite easy to prepare all of the PCB designs.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit complicated to find the comments. Also changing the system takes time. Sometimes loading the projects takes time so. ,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PCB designs espacially. As and electrical engineer, me, designing the PCB and electrical equipments for our company for the Microincinerator devices also I'm working as an Electrical Engineer in a German Comapny. We are designing the systems for maximum power point tracking systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Design should be a bit easier than now. I think the Main screen so complex.
All you could wish for in one tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Altium Designer allows me to perform the complete system design workflow within a single software solution. Starting with circuit analysis using builtin features and 3rd party plug-ins. Continuing with a 3-Dimensional preview of the final PCB, fitting the PCB in a 3D modeled case or adding daughter boards to the preview. Lets not forget all the features Altium Designer has built-in for high speed signaling. So said task can be as little of annoyance as designing a schematic symbol.
What do you dislike about the product?
Altium Designer is very feature rich, with many new features to come in every major release. That being said, sometimes this can be a bit of annoyance, especially when you need a new feature from a release to improve the workflow, but accounting does not recognize its value. Even-though it would decrease the time to market.
Sometimes I'd wish that Altium would provide a license that could be used with the current software release and the one from the year before.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AD has allowed me to improve upon my RF and high speed mixed signal designs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Altium Designer may appear to have a steep learning curve at the beginning and because of its feature-richness it takes a while to get used to it. So just stick with it and keep learning.
The best available tool for PCB design.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the feature of making changes in schematics, footprints, PCB and update the other documents of the project. Also, change parameters like position (X,Y) using an excel type datasheet.
Saves time when you have several and similar parts. Signal1, Signal2.. output1,output2.. you could create a box in the schematic and PCB to create similar boxes keeping geometry and tracks and change automatically the inputs and outputs of each box.
The rules for routing are very useful.
The autorouter is definitely the best tool I like the most.

What do you dislike about the product?
The way of organizing a project directory. When a Gerber or other output file is generated, the destination path is not clearly showed.
I would like to change the shape of the PCB using parameters too. For example.. typing the X,Y coordinates and not only the option to draw with the mouse or cursor.
Sometimes the Altium Designer application crashed with no aparent reason. The changes was not written on disk.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves a lot of time. There a lot of footprints, models available. Changes made in the schematic, PCB and footprints are updated efficiently through the entire project.
I can easily indicate the position of several components in the datasheet of parameters. So, I can export from other documents the exact position of them.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is the best tool available for PCB designer.
It's a nice beginner tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple, easy to use. I'd call it a commando tool (drop in, do the job, leave quickly), but with all it's limitations in the long run.
What do you dislike about the product?
Technical capabilities are far-far away from market leader CAD softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using it for small to medium complexiti PCB design.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it is good for the beginning, but painfull to shift to bigger cad systems later...
Absolutely amazing features
What do you like best about the product?
I like mostly all of the options which is provided in Altium. But my favorite one is variaty of a component feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no free version.atleast if you can provide free non trial version would be better for student as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PCB desing make easy.
Hardware Design Engineer
What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy tool, easy to create foot print n schematic symbols
What do you dislike about the product?
it should have more options for PCB stack, its should integrated with all component vendorsI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i have not find any difficulty till now
Great software for PCB design
What do you like best about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am very satisfied using Altium designer for designing PCB boards. After designing, I send the plans to a company to print that out for me. During using this software, I have never faced any bug or special issue that I especially think of.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I definitely recommend this software for circuit board designers and manufacturing companies. It is very easy to use and does not have any bugs or special issues.
The only issue is that it needs a license and the user or the company needs to pay for it.
