What do you like best about the product?
A security gateway which helps to protect against email threats and virus filtering.
It is easy to use and implement in any workspace which enables data loss prevention.
The advanced security feature of spam filtering and encryption plays an important role.
The customer support is really good with quick solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
A good email protection software but still needs more modernization and improvement.
Also for doing bulk actions multiple select doesn't allowing which is one of the big disadvantage.
Little complicate to integrate the software while setting up.
The frequency of use is more in our organisation so it will be good if the above things will be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is very helpful for keeping safe from targeted phishing attacks,unwanted spam,malware and fradulent contents.
Barracuda is frequently updating and adding new security features which adds a great benefit.
Also serves as a good search tool for old emails.

Barracuda Impersonation protection review

What do you like best about the product?
This impersonation protection is a good solution. It does a descent job in detecting malicious email sent amd makes easy to remove it from the mailbox and block the sender from sending it again. It is avaluable tool for protecting sensitive information and preventing financial losses.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall, it is a good solution. Every tool or software available in the market has some or the other shortcoming. This tool also has a few but that is manageble.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Barracuda Impersonation Protection prevents emails and mailboxes from getting compromised from phishing attacks and other types of cyber frauds. Such attacks can be very damaging for the organization financially and socially. Therefore having a solution like Barracuda Impersonation Protection is very essential.

What is our primary use case?

We have a premium selection within our environment and use Barracuda. It stops threats and malicious messages but also detects stuff you don't want on your computer and in your environment, so we're really happy. You don't have to do anything. You get emails to notify you.

What is most valuable?

The built-in AI tool can analyze the behavior of people who write emails to you to provide impersonation protection. Barracuda also has a single dashboard and viewing pane, so it's easy to select all the features that Barracuda Email Protection has.

What needs improvement?

Barracuda Email Protection currently only works with Microsoft 365. It would be cool to see a more inclusive vendor approach where they should include Google Suite and other vendors like Amazon, for example. You also need complete admin access within your Microsoft 365 account to deploy Barracuda completely, so when you deploy the solution for a customer, it could be hard to transfer those rights from being an end user to a reseller. That's something they could improve.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've worked with the solution for one and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate Barracuda's stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate Barracuda's scalability higher than eight out of ten. In my company, we were pretty weird in our segments. We have clients with 50 users, but also clients with, like, 10,000 users. And we have all kinds of clients, such as the government and the health industry.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy, though it could be difficult for a non-IT person to implement the solution. Barracuda has a lot of support and training to get you started. You can take your time to get all the settings correctly. And when the solution works, it works great.

If you don't receive support, the initial setup can be rated a six and a half out of ten.

It takes one day to deploy the solution. When deploying the solution, you must have your Microsoft 365 account with admin rights. Then, you need to deploy all the inbound and outbound settings. You have to create a predefined set of rules, so you just click what you want and put in your email protocols. There are three email protocols, and you must fill in those IDs. You then have to verify your account settings, and they also need to be verified to be transferred through Barracuda Mail, and then it will be transferred back to your email. That way, Barracuda, the vendor, can see all the possible emails that you are getting. You can install these things to your wishes. You have to commit to a relink where everything is linked to Barracuda and your email server. You have to enable or disable the predefined rules and then finish. You can make the deployment as weird and as wild as you can. Those are the main steps, I believe.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the pricing a five out of ten since it is in the middle. We only pay for the licensing costs.

What other advice do I have?

We have 50% off on everything in our environment. We just calculate the pricing from Barracuda plus our margin for our clients.

I'm really happy with the product. I think it's amazing and rate it an eight and a half out of ten.

My advice when getting the solution is to get yourself certified to join the Barracuda campus. It allows you to train, and it's pretty important to know your product. But if you do not have the time to, I advise you to contact Barracuda's support because they're very qualified and will help you with any of your questions, even remotely, when installing it. If you do it independently without knowledge, using the solution could get messy.

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard and color coding the threats based on relevance. I did like the short snippets about what category the attacks fall under.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reports aren't visually appealing. I would prefer to be able to create reports that I need specific details on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to solve the spam emails that user get. We have found that Barracuda is able to detect them and delete them. This leads to user being more productive and protected.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is the ease of use. It didn't take long to figure out where things were located and was simple to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything that I dislike in my short time using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me help end users quickly with email spam issues.

What do you like best about the product?
It is using AI to recogonize Spam Emails. Some of the emails are hard ro recogonize manually. It helps us protect our working environment better from hardly realized email attacks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the spam emails still cannot be recogonized. Barracuda should get more information from different companies in different industries.
We would like to know more details of how does Barracuda recogonize those dangerous emails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The traditional Emails protection platfrom can't recogonize some emails hiding deeply. They usually pretended someone we may know and official email address we may know with some technologies.

What do you like best about the product?
We have found that it is chatching about 90-95% of all impersonations. I do not know of one that has better stats than that.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not the easest to manover around in. Confadance rating seems a little lower than expected and hard to judge there meaning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Stopping emails from the outside say from our CEO or about finaciances

What do you like best about the product?
It gives me a reason why it blocks the emails. I like that it scans for future malicious emails from the sender and removes the out of user's inboxes.
What do you dislike about the product?
When the emails are blocked because of suspicion, I would like to know what key words or phrases it looks for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It reduces the problems I had with fake senders pretending to use our domain name.

No feedback on errant email submissions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Catches impostor messages that Microsoft O365 misses, provides DMARC parser to help evaluate email deliverability without having to invest in a separate product.

What do you like best about the product?
It has protected us from sophisticated targeted phishing attacks. A few members of our organization have fallen victim in the past, but since we implemented this we have had zero issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be inconvenient, but even that has been painless compared to what could possibly happen. The interface is different than the other barracuda products so there is an adjustment there too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Targeted phishing campaigns. I can see the reports and notifications of the attempts and they are well prepared. I know that without this pordcut, members of our organization would fall victim to these attacks.
