Intuitive, Reliable, and Purpose-Built for Education
What do you like best about the product?
Our organization implemented Jamf School with remarkable ease and efficiency as we launched a new K-12 school. After evaluating Jamf Pro and other MDM options, we ultimately chose Jamf School for its intuitive interface, education-focused design, and quick deployment. It allowed us to get our Apple ecosystem up and running fast — without the heavy overhead of more complex enterprise tools.
We manage MacBooks, iPads, Apple TVs, and iPhones from one unified platform. Integration with Apple School Manager was seamless, and connecting Jamf Connect, Protect, and Safe Internet was straightforward. Each of these tools extends Jamf School in practical, powerful ways — from identity management and cybersecurity to safer online learning environments.
Some of our teachers find the Jamf Teacher app very useful. It gives them easy control to distribute apps, manage classes, and apply restrictions without needing IT’s help. That balance between teacher autonomy and centralized management has been a huge win.
Jamf’s continued innovation is also worth noting. The addition of Blueprints and Prestaging components has simplified provisioning and updates tremendously. What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf School doesn’t include every advanced workflow or automation available in Jamf Pro — but that’s largely intentional, as it’s designed for simplicity in education environments. That said, a few features do roll out more slowly to School, especially when Jamf may announce new platform enhancements like their AI integration..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf School has centralized our entire Apple ecosystem—MacBooks, iPads, iPhones, and Apple TVs—under one intuitive platform. It eliminates the manual setup and app deployment headaches that used to take hours, replacing them with automated provisioning, Blueprints, and class-based management.
Teachers can now manage their own classrooms through the Jamf Teacher and Apple Classroom apps, giving them independence while maintaining IT oversight. Jamf School has completely changed how we manage our iPads across campus. As a K–8 school with a mix of shared and 1:1 iPads, we needed something that could handle deployments, app management, restrictions, and updates—without eating up our entire day.
What I appreciate most about Jamf School is how intuitive it is. The interface is clean, and even our non-technical staff can pick up the basics quickly. Jamf School solves the problem of managing a large number of iPads across multiple grade levels, teachers, and use cases—without needing a full-time Apple specialist. Before Jamf, setting up devices, installing apps, or making changes meant touching every iPad manually or relying on clunky solutions.
Now, we can handle everything from a central dashboard. Whether it’s deploying new apps, setting restrictions for younger grades, or wiping and reassigning a device, Jamf makes it quick and consistent. It also helps teachers manage classroom iPad use without IT constantly stepping in, which frees up our time and increases instructional quality.
The biggest benefit is time saved and consistency across the board. We’re no longer patching together workarounds—we have a dedicated system that was clearly built with schools in mind.

Jamf School is an MDM (mobile device management) solution. Many features of Jamf School, including automated device enrollment, have helped us manage multiple devices. Security is important in a school, and Jamf School ensures that the teachers' accounts are secure and safe.
What needs improvement?
If you start the system update in Jamf School, you cannot stop it. When we once started the update on 200 iPads and faced an issue with the internet, we couldn't stop the process.

I wasted time going back and forth with the technical support team to get an answer for an issue I faced with Jamf School.

We started with Jamf Protect for all devices. We switched to Jamf School last year because of the Jamf School app and its features.

Jamf School is an expensive solution.
What other advice do I have?
We're happy to have a strong MDM solution like Jamf School. Not many schools can afford it, and we are lucky to have the solution. Jamf School has helped push applications to the iPad and do all the iPad System updates and app updates. With Jamf School, it's easy for teachers to monitor the iPad within the classroom and manage all the running activities.
The solution's support and training resources have helped resolve user issues and manage daily tasks. It saves time and effort for us. I would recommend Jamf School to other users.

In only a few instances, there are concerns that some devices may not be delivered, such as application delivery, and that Jamf Parent restrictions may be difficult to remove even for administrators.

It instantly solves the enormous amount of time it takes to manage over 700 iPads.

We enter all the data into our student information system, and the product picks up the information. We don't have to enter it manually. When we update or apply a policy within Jamf, it distributes it to all our devices. It’s a huge time saver.

I like all the features provided by the tool. My technicians manage the tool. The ease of entering data in one location is valuable to me. It saves us time.

The product must improve its price. Price is always an issue for education and nonprofit organizations.

The solution is the right product for people in the education market. We were using another model of Jamf, and it was good. However, when a representative introduced us to Jamf School, and we used it, it was a time saver. If someone is not in the school environment, they must look into the other products Jamf offers. If someone is in the school environment, Jamf School is the right choice. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Jamf School Rocks our iPad Management
What do you like best about the product?
I've used a couple of other MDMs and Jamf does a great job with the GUI. The functionality of the management options is well rounded. For a non-traditional IT person, it is easy to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf School seems to be the "little brother" to Jamf Pro and the support documentation isn't what it could be in comparison. Many Jamf School users are former teachers, so having more detailed training information and videos specifically for Jamf School would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to control the iPads in our school environment is key to the educational opportunities we are attempting to provide. Allowing our administrators to adjust what can and can't be accessed per location helps us minimize the distractions students might be trying to find.
A great product, for mass managedment of iPads and Apple devices.
What do you like best about the product?
Relatively straightforward to use and never experienced any issues/downtime etc, whilst using. Has the ability to manage multiple sites under one customer which is excellent for school trusts or bigger businesses.
What do you dislike about the product?
The multi-site/customer management option is a little confusing initially to use as it's not just one big shared tenant but rather a single login, and you have to switch between the customers/sites. No free offering like other MDMs, however all usual premium features are included at a fair price per device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple and efficient management of the mass deployment of iPads. As well as this it includes simple tracking of the devices (both location and user), deployment of apps, policies, restrictions etc too.
