Best observability and insight platform.
What do you like best about the product?
Conviva's real-time, session-level data and unified view of Quality of Experience (QoE), Quality of Service (QoS), and audience analytics is its undisputed killer feature. For any large-scale streaming operations like ours usecase, this platform moves far beyond aggregated, lagging metrics to actionable, diagnostic insights that drive immediate impact.
- The ability to drill down into individual user sessions, see exactly what happened (rebuffering, startup time, bitrate changes, ad impressions, network conditions, device types, locations) as it's happening, or moments after, is unparalleled. This has drastically reduced our Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) for critical playback issues. We can pinpoint if it's a specific CDN node, an ISP bottleneck, a device-specific player bug, or even an ad tech issue. This helped us to optimise our MTTD and MTTR in big way.
There's a steep learning curve to effectively navigate the dashboards, build custom reports, and interpret the insights. It often requires dedicated analysts or engineers to fully leverage its capabilities. Our team slowly gained the expertise into it.
- Conviva bridges the gap between engineering, network operations, content, product, and even ad sales. Everyone can look at the same data points – rebuffer ratio, video start time, ad fill rates, error rates – and stop the finger-pointing. This shared understanding fosters immense cross-functional alignment.
Proactive Alerting: Customizable alerts based on real-time metric deviations (e.g., sudden spikes in rebuffer ratio for a specific geo, device, or content asset) allow us to proactively address issues before they impact a widespread audience.

What do you dislike about the product?
- It's a premium product, and the pricing reflects that. It's a significant investment, making it less suitable for smaller streaming operations or those with limited budgets for advanced analytics. The ROI needs to be clearly demonstrated and consistently tracked.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Conviva, a buffering complaint could send us on a multi-team wild goose chase. Now, we can quickly diagnose if it's a player issue, a network problem at the user's ISP, a CDN issue, or a problem with our origin servers, dramatically reducing our MTTR from hours to minutes. This benefits us by minimizing customer frustration, reducing support call volumes, and protecting our brand reputation.

Comprehensive and insightful platform for streaming analytics
What do you like best about the product?
One of the most useful aspects of Conviva is how easily I can drill down from the main widget—especially SPI (Startup Performance Index)—to view all associated dimensions. Whether it's device, region, ISP, or player type, the ability to instantly see detailed performance breakdowns gives actionable insight into streaming health. The platform is intuitive and fast, which helps a lot in operational triaging.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I click on SPI in the Trends platform, all the dimension metrics (like CIRR, VPF-T, VSF-T) get collapsed or stagnated, requiring me to manually re-click and expand each individual metric again. This adds unnecessary steps and affects the flow of quick data exploration. It would be great if these dimensions stayed expanded or loaded dynamically based on the initial SPI click.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conviva helps in real-time diagnosis of streaming quality issues across platforms like iOS, Android, and ATV. It provides granular visibility into user experience metrics, enabling faster resolution of playback errors, buffering spikes, and platform-specific degradations. This significantly improves decision-making for engineering and support teams, helping us ensure a smooth viewing experience for end-users.
Reliable Real-Time Analytics for Streaming at Scale
What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Conviva for streaming analytics, and the experience has been largely positive. It offers real-time visibility into key metrics like video start time, buffering ratio, bitrate, and user engagement, which is crucial for ensuring high QoE (Quality of Experience) for our viewers.
One of Conviva’s strongest features is its low-latency, per-session data granularity, which helps our operations team debug issues quickly and our product teams make informed decisions.

What do you dislike about the product?
Steep Learning Curve: Takes time to understand the schema, build queries, and use dashboards effectively.
Limited Historical Depth: Retention of raw session data can be limited unless archived separately.
UI Can Be Overwhelming: Interface is powerful but not always intuitive for new or occasional users.
Analytics for VPF and VSF Should be like Crashlitics where a defnete pattern and visiblity of UI Should be there which help us a lot on analyzing data

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Conviva ODP solves the challenge of real-time visibility and root cause analysis in video streaming environments. It addresses the following key problems:
Lack of end-to-end session-level insight: Conviva provides deep, per-session telemetry that helps us understand exactly what went wrong—whether it's player errors, CDN delivery issues, device compatibility, or user-side problems.
Delayed detection of QoE issues: With Conviva’s real-time dashboards and alerting, our operations and QA teams can detect and act on playback issues as they happen, reducing MTTR (mean time to resolution).
Limited context in user-reported issues: By correlating user feedback with actual session logs and metrics, we're able to reproduce and resolve bugs faster, even in cases where issues are intermittent.
Difficulty in measuring streaming KPIs: Conviva provides consistent metrics (e.g., startup time, buffering ratio, average bitrate), enabling data-driven decision-making and performance benchmarking across devices and regions.
Benefits:
Faster troubleshooting and incident response
Improved QoE and customer satisfaction
Reduced escalations to CDN/player vendors
Better visibility into platform health during high-traffic events
Insightful data to guide player/CDN optimization efforts
