    Security and Investigations

The best password manager with high security and reliability

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of bitwarden is that it uses a very strong cryptographic algorithm (AES-256) and stores ciphertext in the files so that even if the attacker gets ahold of the bitwarden files, it would be almost impossible to decrypt the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Till now I don't dislike anything about bitwarden but I would like to suggest improving UI a little bit. Also, it would be good if developers can come up with a better solution than the concept of a "master password" because once anyone gets to know it, all the passwords are leaked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have got a lot of passwords and confidential data that I need to store. Earlier I used to store it in Notepad but I came to know about how easily hackers could get to my data. The fact that Bitwarden is open source and uses cryptographic vaults made it the safest affordable place I could find to protect my data.

Easy to use, lacking API

  • April 05, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and the UI is very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The API functionality is lacking. There is a command line that you can call to get passwords, but an API would be easier to integrate with our software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to store passwords that need to be accessed by the whole team. Easy for business users and IT users to share.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
do you need it to integrate with an API?

Reliable and affordable

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The cost ($0) and unlimited device usage. The ability to self-host and control my password/secure note data is also comforting.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is getting better, but still feels slightly dated compared to alternatives like 1Password.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management for my organization and personal needs on a budget.

My Daily Go-To Password Mgmt Tool!

  • March 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A streamlined platform to manage my login credentials/passwords on all my for macOS, iOS, and Android devices. The cross-platform sync and compatibility is fantastic! For the price, this is a top notch product!
What do you dislike about the product?
The syncing process can somtimes be a little dicey... When using browser integrations (either Chrome or Safari) on MacOS, the automatic sync function rarely is ever actually "automatic". Also, the autofill and autosave doesn't work as expected on occasion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bitwarden quickly became my password manager of choice. The browser add-on is quickly accessible and I can fill in passwords with a minimum of fuss. An excellent free option and much better than my previous paid software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You might as well test it out first with the Free option to ensure there's not going to be any problems on your multiple devices and different browsers.

Increase your own personal security with simple to use tooling

  • March 09, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I transitioned from Lastpass to BitWarden during the changes organizationally last year and some concerns long term with the direction of the company and haven't looked back.

Bitwarden is a simple utility that can either sit as a standalone application on your machine or be embedded into your browser. For simplicity, I have both installed. Standalone for local applications and secrets management and chrome extension for browsing.

I love the fact it integrates well with biometrics so I can unlock it with my fingerprint
What do you dislike about the product?
Wouldn't say dislike, but I do miss a feature from LastPass which allowed me to do a security review and this would score my passwords, help with rotations, exposed passwords etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increasing my security profile and maintaining passwords per product I use vs a one rememberable password for all.

What do you like best about the product?
The new functinalities of TOTP codes and SSH keys are very usefull when I swith to personal computer between my office pc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Try to avoid or reduce copy paste practices, potential risk for keyloggers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Be able to manage hundreds of passwords in one place securely—also to divide company passwords with personal ones. I could stop searching and remembering passwords. I was even able to start using stronger passwords without having to write them down or use the same key for all accounts.

Best free password manager available today

  • January 15, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Still the best free password manager. They have incorporated support for passkeys earning their position as the best option for a password manager at no cost. I have nothing but respect and appreciation for them and their service.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only areas for improvement may be slight GUI enhancements, but largely it's just personal preference and I think the issue that peers struggle with when using this is lack of familiarity with larger concepts more than troubles with the GUI.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows better password habits. After use I have more unique and long/complex passwords than ever before and can still access on every platform I use (windows, Mac, iPhone, and browser)

If you want security then look no further

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of implementation of Bitwarden is what really impressed me, moving over from Lastpass to Bitwarden was a breeze by being able to just import all my old passwords.
What do you dislike about the product?
To date I have not found anything to dislike, Bitwarden simply works well, If I must choose something as a negative I would say upon adding new passwords the app asks for the master password every time, but that is more security.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company has moved to Bitwarden with the number of passwords one needs nowadays it is a must to use software. Bitwarden grants us the most secure option to make this happen.

Amazing Password Management for Small Business

  • December 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
You can create a free organisation here where you can then create two sub categories. One additional user can be added in the free organisation which is very good for password collaboration that to keeping the overall security in mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
The number of free users should have been a minimum of three shows that the collaboration can be easy. But I think that is how they earn money on the per plans which offer much more security and additional users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralizing the overall password repository was the main concern for the organization. Also keeping a track of share passwords within the team was one of the primary concerns.
