Next Gen protection

  • July 01, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
Really the full concept of leveraging a huge community of users to build intelligence which is then used to fight cyberthreats. I also like the capability to apply various counter measures depending of the detected behavior.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think about outside potential enhancements which I expect to see in a future release
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
End point and server threat detection and response
Continuous update of malicious IP and threat patterns

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it started by solving an old problem in a new way, and extended that into a full platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I got in early, so some of the documentation wasn't great at first. But it's much stronger now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm using it to filter traffic from clients that send malicious content or exhibit malicious behavior.

Highly Innovative

  • June 30, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
They have come with a highly innovative offering that has no comparable on the market. This idea of sharing the thread data through a web of users is so elegant that I do not understand that it not largely deployed. IT may well be a megatrend in the sense that cybersecurity could use its architecture in the future.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to say since I haven't used all the tools made available by this product yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It accelerates the decision-making in case of cyberthreat
Recommendations to others considering the product:
many contents and supports on different platforms are available

Adding security layers to public facing servers at scale

  • June 29, 2021
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdsec is very fast to add to existing servers, smooth wizard (or silent install) that will enable protections for the workloads at install time, for example ssh/myql protection, simple install to add bouncers and additional watchers, this will help end customers to have a more secure server while still allowing public access
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing to dislike about CrowdSec. The team is straightforward to work with, solid documentation and growing features set at a high frequency
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting to actionable data, CrowdSec will filter out know bad actors and keep expanding the block lists, and given we can see what's being blocked we can use data to search for places where the IP might have succeeded, and with SIEMS being busy removing hundreds of thousands of lines of noise will enable teams hunting in the log files to hunt more efficient

A good fail2ban replacement

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Modularity, dev team listening the users, being able to parse logs at 1 place and block / act on another one.
It's very easy to centralise the decisions when using multiples servers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at the moment. The product is young and need more scenarios, but the community will slowly build that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly blocking bruteforce and vulnerabilty scans
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to reach the dev team.
Take the time to learn how the tool work, it's worth the time and effort you will put into it.
