This product is awesome

What do you like best about the product?
- The synchronization is great
- I love how you can include or exclude certain objects, fields and even record types
- The out of the box features that you get with RJ such as history tracking, logs, delete records are great to have.
- Loads run fast, keeps our downstream DB in sync with our SF environment and audits allow us to detect schema changes
What do you dislike about the product?
- The initial setup takes some time
- Password encryption is a little annoying
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of making hand written API calls to our SF environment, we have RJ jobs that do all the work for us making it seamless.

Great Product for improving efficiency.

What do you like best about the product?
Relational Junction allows me to use the tools I am familiar with (MS SQL) to move data to and from our ERP system. This has greatly improved our efficiency in keeping records in sync between Salesforce and our ERP system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface could be a little more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our ERP and Salesforce systems in sync. Major efficiency benefits in moving data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great Product if you are looking to archive your data and want to have it on premise. Also allows you to combine data from different sources to upload to Salesforce.

Reliable Replication from Salesforce to Postgres

  • November 29, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have had RJ4Salesforce on our critical path for about 6 years. In that time we have had relatively few problems, and Sesame has always been very responsive to any issues we've had. We've also compared their Real-Time Option for replication with Salesforce's Heroku Connect, which it consistently outperforms. The licensing is pretty reasonable for what we do with it. The software is highly configurable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software does have its limits. Mass updates of records, which happens when currencies are updated in Salesforce, will slow the software down dramatically. Similarly, the Real-Time Option cannot work with multiple workers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We migrated from a relational database into Salesforce, but were able to avoid modifying the software which read from the relational database.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As always, limiting the number of columns and the number of rows results in best performance.

RelationalJunction is the perfect tool for raw data backup and syncronization

What do you like best about the product?
Very little configuration is needed to replicate all Salesforce data to a local SQL server. Custom objects added in Salesforce are automatically added as new tables in the replicated database. Custom fields added in Salesforce are automatically added as new columns in the replicated database.

Configuration files make it easy to configure replication, such as excluding certain objects, how often to replicate each object, etc.

Logs are very verbose. They can be very long, but when something isn't working right, they are very helpful in figuring out exactly what is causing the problem.

Records that are deleted in Salesforce stay in the replicated database forever.

Two way replication is easy. Records can be inserted or changed locally and uploaded to Salesforce simply by flagging the new or updated rows with an 'I' or 'U'. You can also delete records by flagging them with a 'D'.

Besides a browser based user interface, it also has a command line interface. Those familiar with the command line will appreciate the ability to run any task from the command line.
What do you dislike about the product?
If a field type is changed in Salesforce (like from an integer to a text field), Relational Junction will not automatically change the column in the local database. Instead, the replication script will fail until the column is fixed. To do this, you have to delete the column, then run some commands to have Relational Junction add the column again with the correct data type.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Relational Junction provides is with a local backup of all of our Salesforce data. Reporting on Salesforce data is also faster and easier when the data is in a local database.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you just want raw data, RelationalJunction is easy to use and fully functional. If you need ETL tools, and the ability to manage what data gets replicated where, this tool will not do it for you.

What do you like best about the product?
User doesnt need to worry about data structure/table changes on source and destination. RJ takes care of this automatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though the UI is simple, setting up RJ from scratch and getting it up and running is painful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Syncing our SFDC system with SQL Server data warehouse.

Relational Junction

What do you like best about the product?
We needed a tool that would backup and replicate our salesforce database. In researching products, this one seemed to be the most robust.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the setup instructions not that straight forward. Once the user interface is explained, it's less confusing to work with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Salesforce data export is just a set of .zip files, if we were to actually need to find something from a backup, it would be nearly impossible. With RJ, we can query what we need and recover it quickly. Also if you were to need salesforce to help you recover data, you are looking at a heavy cost.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to confirm what objects can and cannot be backed up.

Relational Junction Review

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that it gives us direct access to our NetSuite data. Sometimes it is much quicker and convienient to query the data instead of building native reports or saved searches.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we could write back to NetSuite instead of it just being a one-way sync. I have heard that they might have something in the works that will allow us to make changes to NetSuite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently used Relation Junction's copy of our NetSuite database as the source of our data migration efforts to our new CRM system Salesforce. We were able to build SQL scripts to pull the data out of the RJ database and populate it in Salesforce directly. It made the migration task much simpler and organized.

What do you like best about the product?
It makes the transition from SalesForce to reporting tools seemless.
What do you dislike about the product?
That you need to buy a third party product to get data from SalesForce
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Custom reporting for an application that runs on the SalesForce platform
