Using the Absorb LMS

What do you like best about the product?
This is a state of the art LMS. I have seen nothing but great improvements since we first started using this platform. I was very impressed with the most recent update of the Current Learner Experience. Very user-friendly and looks sleek and is very functional.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest thing that comes to mind is not having the ability to charge users a yearly subscription. We have been told for over a year that this will be implemented, but still haven't heard!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This eases the process of onboarding in numerous ways. Saves upper level peoople so much time when bringing on a new employee because you can sign them up for an account and set them free!

What do you like best about the product?
The Absorb screens are fairly intuitive, and have multiple pathways to uncover the answers we seek. Our employee records are easy to enter and easier to pull into reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Training our employees on some of the system terminology was challenging at times (i.e. the difference between courses and curricula).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tracking all compliance training and elective training in this system. It is helpful to have API links that will monitor information stored in other bolt-on systems too. Absorb LMS is valuable as a centralized reporting database.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When comparing all of the vendors who might be able to meet your needs, consider the intuitive nature of each product and the level of customer service each vendor can provide. Simple communication and intuitive screen layouts for our internal workers was a benefit of using Absorb.

What do you like best about the product?
Absorb's LMS lets us promote learning at all levels through our company and dealer network. The ability to set up career paths through learning has provided our users with a beneficial tool to enhance their careers. The administrative experience is intuitive allowing us to focus our time on our greatest assets...our people.
The internal experience has been so beneficial to us that we are now going with Absorb to train our dealer network around the globe.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting functionality is still a work in progress, the filters helps with some of this, though it still seems a bit clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to provide training to all of our employees worldwide with Absorb. This allows employees and dealers to learn about Taylor Guitars at a time that works best for them. Recently we made the decision to move our external LMS for our dealer over to Absorb. This will allow us to leverage the social aspect of the tool with leaderboards and automatic messaging. We choose Absorb for the functionality and the ROI we believe we will get as a result of using it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend taking it for a spin, the user experience and administrative tools are important to anyone looking into investing in an LMS.

What do you like best about the product?
Administration is very user friendly. The support team provides great support. Navigating is straight forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
System enhancements are not top priority for absorb. Connectivity with outside applications seems to have functionality seems to not work all the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One place for all learning and development initiative. Completing annual sign offs in the system.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy and versatile they system is. We have expanded our usage of the system lately and started building our own interactive eLearning content. Uploading a Scorm 1.2 file and passing the quiz results to Absorb has been seamless. The functionality in Absorb has allowed us to reduce cost by eliminating other testing solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
When modifying an existing course or making a course inactive, it impacts users who have already completed that course. I would like changes to courses to be for day forward enrollments and leave existing enrollments "grandfathered" into what they were until the re-enrollment period has passed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of providing our end users and internal team members with different levels of training about our solution. We have also begun to investigate how we can take advantage of the LMS to help with internal compliance.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite update that Absorb has put out is the new Learner Experience. This new interface has delighted our internal and external learners.
What do you dislike about the product?
The inability to use Enrollment Keys alongside Salesforce integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Absorb supported our rapid expansion ens of learners to thousands of learners in the last year. Managing learners, enrollments, online courses, and live courses has been an intuitive experience.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a clear understanding of enrollment workflow before implementation.

What do you like best about the product?
A great feature with Absorb LMS is the amount of customization and personalization you can do across different departments and different users. It allows you to tailor learning as needed. Making different courses, billboards, and curricula available to different user groups and departments has been fantastic in helping us customize the learning experience for all of our users. Definitely a strength for Absorb.
What do you dislike about the product?
We would like to implement a yearly subscription for our learners and that has been something mentioned by absorb but hasn't been implemented yet. They keep saying that it is on the roadmap but every time it is discussed it is pushed further down the road. We may go with a different way for ecommerce since they offer a few, but it would have been nice to have that subscription feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We provide training to various landscape contractors and Absorb has made that easy for us, easy for them, and it looks great. Learners actually want to log in and get going on courses, our previous LMS was dated and hard to navigate so no one would get on to take courses. It is also miles ahead of our old in house developed portal in customization and providing different courses to different users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have a plan and organize it well before implementing. It provides a ton of uses and benefits, but sometimes that can be overwhelming or result in an unorganized backend if not planned out beforehand.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, the simple design makes it an intuitive system. Reporting is easy and can be filtered in many ways to accommodate user requests. The speed of the system also keeps our users happy. The system has a flexible design interface allowing us to brand it to our organization and make it a customized system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Keeping up to date on the improvements and issues with the system has been a challenge. The inability to unenroll large groups of learners if they are accidentally are enrolled. We have had many billing issues because of this issue. Deleting courses but retaining the user data is not possible either.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We train 76,000 users that are made up of end-users, partners, and employees. The system supports that population very efficiently.
