Great developer productivity platform

  • May 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- it combines both qualitative and quantitative metrics
- it's very configurable, both in connectors to internal systems and in visualisations
- it explains why some metrics are important
- very easy to use and set up, their support people are great
What do you dislike about the product?
- the rating system is not yet ideal for the survey, the score number is a bit arbitrarily translated from the five possible options
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A unified view across all teams on where we are at and what we perceive to be our biggest problems.

Good UI and provides insight of what's happening in the tech industry

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The app is very user friendly, easy for me to use it and provide feedback whenever I was requested my DX feedback to the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think I have anything that I don't like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives the overall insight of what is going on in the industry, my departments with others in the company in general, and also compares the developer experience from the company with the top ones and see where we are at. Allows us to focus on what to improve.

Great way to gather team feedback and make plans for improvement

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a great way to get an entire engineering teams feedback in one place. The categories are great and meaningful to an engineers daily workflow. I have enjoyed being able to see others feedback on different areas that I may not have thought about in my daily flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is when it is not used. Engineers will take the time to provide feedback but that only does so much if no action is taken from it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting a single place to gather feedback from all of our engineers. It also helps us keep track of areas in the past that we have tried to improve and where they currently stand.

Ease of integration with external tools

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of integration with external tools. From an administrator perspective it literally took a few clicks to setup an integration with Gitlab and Gitlab-pipelines.
The online documentation is very informative and easy to navigate to.
What do you dislike about the product?
From my point of view I did not find any downsides. A few hiccups along the process of integrating our systems were quickly addressed by the team and a solution was implemented really fast
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Judging from the reports we are using DX software to help us identify bottlenecks in order to deliver our product faster and be more efficient in our day to day activities

Great Insight Tool for Engineering Managers

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A great dedicated tool to gather frequent feedback from engineers, and to see the details of the engineering team's performance. The tool will let you improve various areas of engineering and locate the places that need immediate attention. You can even compare your statistics with top (P90)
What do you dislike about the product?
Engineers can leave various comments on the metrics, providing more descriptive feedback, yet the system does not advocate for engineers to suggest reasons/solutions that could improve the metric.

A valuable addition would be something like: In the last survey, you mentioned X, Y, and Z. Do you feel an improvement in this area?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
* Slow Onboarding
* Lack or Slow Engineering Feedback Loops
* Source of Truth for Engineering Metrics

Great tool for modern engineering teams

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX is really great at getting the full picture of your engineering department. The surveys (AKA snapshots) have an amazing impact on our teams, providing the chance for everyone to contribute to improving our engineering culture. Quantitative metrics are easy to plug in, and provide great insight about software development cycle inefficiencies. There are also metrics around incidents, which we very much like.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts are not the easiest to integrate with some tooling (e.g. Jenkins)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX is here to give us insight into the pulse of the engineering team. About the tooling and processes we have, and maybe even potential ones we didn't yet implement. We are also using it to see if the team is struggling on some part of the work. Today, it's very important to maintain a great engineering culture in our company, because that's the only way we can move forward in a good direction, and DX definitely helps us get there.

I am surprised how valuable the DX process is for me

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can understand better what my employees think!
as i dont have time to ask each of them the right question to get their sense.. this is a very valuable tool to understand where the pain points in your organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
the over UI is great bu tit can do better in navigating between the CORE 4 measurements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it shows me where we are not doing great as an organization. i can now take actions and put my focus in the right spots.

DX saves me so much time

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used to spend spend so much time looking for reasons why certain things did not go the way I wanted them to, now I've got a data to point me in the right direction. Just hook it up to your VCS, task tracker, send out a snapshot and you should be able to find some things that are truly worth fixing.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I could improve one thing it would be hybrid user management, between automated and manual updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identify and improve bottlenecks in our engineering teams.

A dynamic platform for developer insights that keeps evolving

  • May 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX makes it very easy to collect and analyze feedback from our development teams. Each quarter we get 90+ percent response rate (sample of 6 quarterly surveys). Even though DX platform tries to find a balance between quantitative and qualitative inputs, in our experience we found qualitative (surveys) inputs more useful since it compliments our internal qualitative data with user sentiment. The customer support is also helpful, responsive and open to feedback, which builds confidence as we scale our usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because DX is developing so rapidly, there are frequent changes to the user interface and workflows. While this brings new functionality, it sometimes requires extra effort to adjust existing processes and update documentation internally. Occasionally, some new features arrive before they're fully polished, so it can take some time for things to stabilize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting developer experience sentiment and bubble up most important areas for improvement across the whole engineering.
