    Computer Software

Essential tool for getting valuable insights into DevEx

  • April 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX’s survey feature is a standout — it's intuitive, easy to deploy, and has become a crucial tool for identifying pain points in our developers’ experience. It allows us to proactively gather feedback and take action before issues escalate. The reporting capabilities are another strong point, offering clear visibility into trends and outliers, which helps us catch early warning signs and continuously improve our workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integration process could be more seamless. Currently, there’s a need for some manual setup when linking team members to their GitLab or GitHub accounts. If DX could automatically map users based on email or account information where possible, it would significantly streamline onboarding and reduce friction during setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Periodically detecting problematic areas in developer experience with easy setup.

Excellent tool for understanding your dev teams and enabling them to thrive

  • April 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, easy to respond to surveys. Easy to implement. We have great engineering leadership who have invested the time in actually reviewing, interpreting, and ACTING ON the results of DX surveys, which -as with any survey tool- is very important. But that said, DX makes it relatively easy to do this, which is very nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides. Just remember, you need strong leadership to act on what you learn from DX. But if you have that, then DX will be a great tool for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us understand what our developers are experiencing and learn what they think is enhancing or inhibiting their productivity. Learning that, we are able to make adjustments to enable ever greater delivery of customer value from our dev teams.

An innovative company paving the way for developer experience insights

  • April 11, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Their product is excellent, easy to use and configure. The company is really responsive to feedback. I've reported a couple of minor bugs which were resolved within 24 hours for example.
I like that most of the product is driven by research that the company leaders are advocating for through articles, podcasts and talks. This makes it really useful to talk about DX and their different frameworks in the company and convince leaders where I work to use DX as a source of insights to improve our engineering org.
Finally, their account managers are super chilled, not pushy and very responsive which makes for a very healthy relationship (and not one that feels like infinite sales pitches).
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd say that one downside of DX is that you need a fair amount of effort to integrate all your systems with DX to get to a level where you get great value for the money you spend.
While the integrations are very straightforward on the technical side, it always need collaboration and discussion within my regulated company to enable, and only after I've integrated 5-6 tools do I feel that I reach the potential of the tool. So if you go with DX, make sure to have capacity to properly integrate it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX gives leaders at my company insights as to how our engineering organisation is doing, where we should invest and allows us to capture great feedback from other engineers in one place.

DX is a must have to understand how to be more efficient

  • April 10, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX provides a wealth of metrics, both qualitative and quantitative, that provide you a great way to measure developer productivity, experience, and efficiency from a number of angles. Operating a software company without these insights is like operating a website without metrics on how your customers are using your product. This tool has completely transformed the way that our platform teams talk about the value of our work and how we show that value that we provide.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I had the ability to create just as elaborate dashboards as the ones that DX provides out of the box. We can get pretty close with Studio, but not as many options as they have themselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX allows us to better understand how our developers are working, the pain points they are experiencing, and how our platform investments are providing value to our customers. One of the most critical at the moment is measuring how we are becoming more efficient with AI coding assistant tools.

As a product engineering leader, DX is the platform I would build myself

  • April 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX was incredibly easy to set up and seamlessly integrates with the other tools we use. Having a dedicated account manager available directly in our Slack channel has been a great support. The platform offers visibility into the top four engineering metrics, supports both qualitative and quantitative insights, and includes DORA metrics as well. One of the most valuable features for us is the ability to query our own data collected from integrated tools and build custom dashboards tailored to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I haven’t found anything I dislike about DX. Everything has worked smoothly for our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX helps us track and measure key engineering metrics with minimal setup effort. It consolidates data from various engineering tools, allowing us to create fully customized dashboards that provide meaningful insights tailored to our team’s needs. This visibility helps us make informed decisions and continuously improve our processes.

A great tool for getting the pulse on developer experience

  • April 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In general, I think DX is a great tool. We've used it at my company to measure previously intangible areas of developer experience, like planning processes or cross team collaboration. When we make changes to our internal processes, it is great to have a feedback loop to help understand if we are making the desired impact. I also love the frontline tool. This helps me stay on top of my team's PR reviews and also get an at-a-glance view of what other members may be working on. The reporting capabilities give great jira insights, and I love that it's AI-integrated so I rarely need to write custom SQL queries. I also think that PlatformX and studies have the potential to help my organization tackle some of our more targeted problems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish managing teams were more straightforward. I wish there were a way to export team data into an excel sheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX Tracks process-based metrics of developer experience that were previously unmeasurable. This helps my organization know if our process changes have an impact on how people feel our work is going. Additionally, being able to correlate self-reported data with real metrics helps me understand where we have a messaging/advertising problem within our platform organization vs where areas of further investment are needed.

Actionable insights and big win for a culture of continuous improvement

  • April 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX's mix of qualitative and operational data alongside industry and cohort benchmarks is super helpful in validating our pain points. The transparency and analysis both empowers the team to address challenges locally and escalate for broader solves.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no dislikes, really, the features of the product feel like the best, team-centric versions of themselves, and it feels cohesive. More features I didn't know I needed please.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Identifying and eliminating friction and bottlenecks in our software delivery practice, and providing positive feedback loops for operational excellence

    Computer Software

Insightful, easy-to-use tool for understanding and improving engineering effectiveness

  • April 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
DX is incredibly easy to use and quick to implement. The heatmaps and snapshot comparisons (across time and industry benchmarks) make it easy to spot trends and areas of opportunity. Developer feedback is front and center, and our account manager regularly meets with our engineering team to walk through results, making the data even more interpretable. It's become a valuable part of how we listen to our engineers and guide improvement efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a direct dislike, but getting the most out of DX requires thoughtful program management and leadership buy-in. You need to integrate it into your team rhythms to avoid survey fatigue and ensure follow-through. Some insights, like those from the Delivery driver correlations, could benefit from more concrete recommendations or next steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DX helps us identify and understand what’s enabling—or blocking—engineering effectiveness across teams. It surfaces how developers actually experience their work, from delivery friction to feedback cycles and technical debt. This gives us a structured, data-informed way to prioritize improvements, rather than relying on gut feel or anecdotal input. It also helps us track progress over time, which has been key to aligning engineering leadership and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement.

Great actionable qualitative and quantitative insight

  • April 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
After attempting to run an in-house developer survey in 2023 at significant cost, time investment and questionable value finding DX seemed like a godsend. Through a pilot and four subsequent snapshot iterations that have gained >90% participation and led to valuable and actionable insight the tool has more than proven itself.

Particular points of differentiation and value to us:

The flexibility to define actual team structures that represent how people collaborate and also democratise the ongoing maintenance of them.

The integration into MS Teams with thoughtful nudges for participation and followup that really help drive participation and avoid survey fatigue.

A continuing pace of product development that generally delights us with new capabilities and features.

The research-backed nature of the tool and focus on providing industry benchmarks and other ways to easily enable data to become insight.

Pro-active and responsive partnership from DX customer success and support teams.

It's early days for us expanding into the Data Cloud aspects but it appears that there has been a good degree of thoughtfulness around the flexibility to support different SDLC approaches and not enforce opinions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike is too strong, but some growing pains are:

Maintaining up to date and accurate contributor and team structures within DX are critical to success but could be made easier to achieve. There's a bit too much need for export/import of multiple CSVs and APIs are a still evolving.

Support for non-engineering job roles (e.g. Product Management, UX) could be better evolved. There's minimal support in terms of snapshot participation, but better representation of these people within teams is needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marrying quantitative and qualitative insight from software-based product engineering teams to help drive both local team improvement focus and provide product signal for centre-out tooling, platform and other initiatives.
