CAST AI Automates Cloud Savings with Spot Instances—Like a 24/7 DevOps Pro
What do you like best about the product?
I love how CAST AI doesn't just point out where I'm overspending, but actually goes in and automates the fixes so I don't have to manually tweak clusters all day. Its ability to handle Spot Instances is a total lifesaver because it keeps my apps running smoothly while cutting my cloud bill by more than half. Honestly, it’s like having a dedicated DevOps pro working 24/7 to make sure we’re never paying for more than we actually use.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I find frustrating is that giving up that much control to an autonomous "black box" can be nerve-wracking, especially since it occasionally restarts workloads to move them and the reporting isn't always as granular as the native cloud billing I'm used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CAST AI is essentially solving the massive headache of manual Kubernetes scaling and "cloud waste" by using autonomous AI to rightsize my resources and manage Spot Instances in real-time, which basically means I get to slash my cloud bill by 50% or more without my DevOps team having to babysit the infrastructure 24/7.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy installation and setup process, which made onboarding really smooth. The UI is very solid and intuitive, and it gives a clear view of costs and workload distribution. The built-in features are genuinely helpful and save a lot of manual effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great to have options for defining specific memory thresholds and more configurable HPA triggers to better match different workload requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The combination of auto provisioning, rebalancing, and both vertical and horizontal scaling makes a big difference. It helps maintain performance and stability without extra effort from our side. For me, it means saving time, avoiding resource waste, and focusing more on strategic tasks instead of ongoing tuning.
Reliable Cluster Management with Spot Fallback
What do you like best about the product?
I use CAST AI for rebalancing the clusters, and it has been really helpful for our team in managing nodes. I personally love the spot fallback feature, where if the spot instance is not available, it will switch to the on-demand instance. This prevents downtime in lower environments. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy, which I appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I feel leaning towards the open-source tools like Karpenter, but I feel CAST AI has its advantages.

It automates the entire lifecycle of node provisioning and spot instance orchestration, including seamless fallbacks to on-demand instances during market interruptions. This transforms our Kubernetes clusters into a self-optimizing system, significantly reducing our cloud spend while freeing the team to focus on delivery pipelines rather than manual scaling policies

What do you like best about the product?
I mainly use CAST AI to reduce overall cluster costs and easily manage the cluster. It helps avoid interruptions by predicting spot interruptions, which is crucial for putting workloads in spot without causing disruptions. I also appreciate its wide range of features, which stood out to me as a significant advantage when switching from Karpenter. The CAST AI team made our initial onboarding smooth, which I found very helpful.

I think the UI and error messages can be improved. The UI could be made better to enhance accessibility.

I use CAST AI for k8s scaling and really like its evictor feature. It helps with managing the cost and evicting stateful workloads, which other autoscalers are not doing. I also appreciate the spot instance management. The initial setup of CAST AI was very easy.

What do you like best about the product?
CAST AI abstracts the nuisance of provisioning and scaling nodes and its UI provides a holistic view of the cluster status with usage metrics. I really appreciate the cluster rebalancer that optimizes workloads. The node template and node configuration offer superb flexibility for segregating workloads. What I love most is CAST AI's obsession with customer feedback. They connected with us to understand our requirement for using fractional GPU on templates and surprisingly delivered this feature in just two weeks.
