    Information Technology and Services

A Non-developer's Dream Integration Platform!

  • March 05, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray.io is an amazing solution for technically savvy managers, leaders, systems owners, and operations people to connect your technology stack in more powerful ways. I'm also a fan of solutions like Zapier and Piesync for simple or more "out-of-the-box" solutions, but Tray gives you more insight, flexibility, and depth to build a custom workflow that meets your needs without developer resources. If you have some engineering time on your hands (or even basic development skills) you can do just about anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface feels like it was built by engineers, for engineers. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it could be less approachable for people that have no development knowledge or background. There can also be a lack of intuition around some of the "Connectors" in their naming conventions and application. It's not a huge issue if you don't mind searching around in their help docs or learning through trial and error.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Generally, I'm using Tray.io to connect just about every technology in our stack that doesn't have an existing native integration. Out internal database, HubSpot, GSuite, you name it. It's a great way to establish and maintain a "single-source-of-truth" database without investing in a ton of custom development that paralyzes you from changing settings / swapping systems in fear of breaking historic connections.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have someone technical on your team own Tray.io. It doesn't need to be a developer, but someone that has an operating knowledge of development and API basics will get far more out of the platform.

Connecting Zendesk and Expandable ERP Was Easy with Tray.io

  • February 17, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray seamlessly connects our customer service team using Zendesk with our Expandable ERP customer and contact master files. They update back and forth. Ben with the Tray team was a great help with initial launch and tweaks. He helped me learn how to navigate in the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially there were some data field connections that did not work and took some debugging to correct. The Tray support team was quick to respond to my request for help. The system has been working flawlessly since then.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit for our team is communicating and connecting with our customers in a strong customer facing system that interfaces with our ERP that contains all the customer and order details but is not as strong with customer inbound contacts.

User-friendly platform with big power!

  • February 17, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Very user-friendly, but it has extremely deep capabilities in automation and integration. This makes it valuable to both non-techy and developers alike. It's worth a test drive if you're looking to integrate multiple cloud-based systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are many connectors already built out - but some are still missing. However they have been very responsive (and fast) about adding new ones.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Linking our e-commerce and CRM systems. Systems communicate perfectly now and are error-free.

Incredibly powerful for automations

  • February 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray's baked in integrations with so many services, like Slack, allow for it to be an incredibly awesome tool for easily creating powerful automations for almost anything. The support for raw webhooks as triggers and raw scripting means you can implement almost anything even if there isn't a custom item in Tray for it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Really nothing, I've never had an issue with anything in Tray. Initially, understanding getting values from scripts into other items/nodes is a bit confusing but once you've established it, it becomes really powerful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tray primarily for creating automated feeds in Slack channels for all sorts of events from our systems and websites.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make use of the scripting powers within Tray, it allows you ot do awesome things!

The one platform that has fundamentally changed our business. Tray.io is the best tool we have.

  • February 13, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray.io has enabled us to solve every single business and data-related problem we knew we had, and hundreds that we didn't even know. Tray.io has allowed us to build systems and processes that we never would have been able to otherwise even fathom. No matter what issue we encounter, we always seem to find a way to solve it with Tray.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a bit clunky and the performance can degrade when workflows are large. However, the team has been very responsive to these issues and continues to address them as they pop up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to create reports, move data around our ecosystem, and connects all of our SaaS platforms as if we had our own integration engineer. Tray.io has saved us countless hours and dollars by making otherwise impossible tasks scalable. Moreover, we are now able to gain insight into critical business intelligence that we knew we needed but were simply unable to produce with any of the other tools in our arsenal.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Any tool like this will be a lot of work to deploy and get right, none of them are simple. Take your time, learn the "language of the tool" and start building. You will build momentum as you learn.

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease to integrate APIs and move data around.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's difficult to re-organize the connector since the screen doesn't scroll automatically when you're dragging them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
System integration, data ingestion, data orchestration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't hesitate to contact Tray's support if needed. They're amazing.

So much flexibility to automate annoying tasks

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used automation software before but Tray.io really does give you ultimate flexibility and cover so many more use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
You do need to have a basic understanding of JSON/ reading outputs so sometimes hard to upskill someone to use it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating manual tasks and increasing productivity within our teams.

Tray is an extremely powerful tool for connecting platforms

  • February 12, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is incredibly flexible, and their customer service is top notch. I requested a new connector for a platform we were using that wasn't currently supported by tray, and they added it quickly and then helped me set up everything I needed for my integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be steep; this is especially true if you have no prior coding or logic flow experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integrating our development tracking (Jira) with our project management platform and our CRM. I just started working on a new integration today to sync data from our cloud data lake into Airtable.

From Marketer to API builder in less than a month with automation critical to business growth.

  • February 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tray's user interface made it easy for me to build my first API integration to automate data flow between different systems in our martech stack. Some competitors provide out of the box integrations, but often those are rigid and don't allow for modifications based upon your unique business processes and needs. Tray let's you build the way you NEED to build. Having never built an API integration before, the idea of out of the box, no thinking required sounded nice. But I'm glad I chose Tray! As the use case evolved, I had to adjust the integration to capture and process different kinds of data to achieve our goals. Another out-of-the-box player wouldn't have been able to do this without buying more product.

They're also security and compliance forward as a business and technology - which several others I evaluated were NOT. Only 17% of martech is SOC 2, Type II certified and that's a critical factor in technology we choose to use to protect the security of our clients, our data and our business.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a laymen to API integrations (knowing the lingo but not the actual minutia of how they work) I had a bit of a learning curve. I had some help, but it was somewhat limited and had to learn on my own. BUT, that was also a factor of the deal I negotiated - I opted to learn on my own vs a fee-based support engagement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've integrated systems in our martech stack to automate data flows. Doing so has freed up various marketers' time to avoid manual list processing so they can focus on other higher value functions. It has also allowed us to automate communications based upon the data being transferred, which couldn't be done reliable when lists were manually ported.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a tool which is flexible to meet your business process and provides the compliance and security your organization requires, Tray is the right choice.

Very pleasing experience working alongside Tray.io support team.

  • February 11, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The close support and the platforms ease of use
What do you dislike about the product?
There are still some issues working collaboratively, although progress has been made to reduce this pain point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We rely on Tray.io to integrate various services that need to share and react to data across different workflows of the company.
