What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility, that you can install in on-premise or use in the cloud and that you can use either linux or windows as the host.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will say that, for developers like myself that work on the customizations, some of the admin screens are still lacking. A lot of the customization has to be done directly in the PHP code vs. through the interface. I wish more customization was available thru the admin screens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need a new solution to managing our customer contact data and manage our sales processes. We use too many spreadsheets today.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate and helps efficiency on equipment service issues as well is a great tool for new business

sometimes the app can be glitchy but generally we quite like the program
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Greatly increases efficiency and accuracy. We use the program to mainly log services issues and to keep track of equipment and changes with our accounts. This helps us in a huge way to make sure our customers are looked after properly. It also is a great tool for sales to log potential accounts and to be able to log our progress.

What do you like best about the product?
Several features allow me to track the life of a lead and ensure the sales team is following up with each lead. This was a pain in the butt with our old CRM and I wasted hours baby sitting leads.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search functionality in global search needs work. It searches first name first so if you have a weird name like James Ng, no search results will come back UNLESS you search it like "James Ng".
It's really annoying, but there are so many other amazing and wonderful features that we LOVE so we are willing to overlook this bug.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can better track leads, pull lists for managers to track productivity, send emails straight from the CRM, send clients invites for meetings, etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Evaluate it WITH your sales team. Let them be a part of the evaluation process. If you are moving from an old CRM, make sure you understand exactly how each department uses it, what they will need in the new one, and where the data is so you can make sure nothing is lost in transition.

Sugar is extremely customize-able. The Sugar team is fantastic to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little cumbersome. The inability to house email inbox.

The flexibility of the system and the ability to customize.

The very specific minor version requirements for PHP and MySQL, makes it difficult to stay current on security patches.

Customer relationship tracking and management. We have expanded our European market significantly.
Good product out of the box, but cloud version lacks customizability

For standard crm use cases like contact management, lead tracking, and meetings--this is a great product. For anything customized to your business, this requires a bit of customization that is not readily available for the cloud-hosted version of the software.

Since I was using this platform for something other than standard crm use, like tracking sales reps, their events attended, and unofficial clubs they created--this was a difficult product to use in regards to the cloud hosted version of the software

Benefits included some out of the box reporting and charts that appeared on a dashboard for executive viewing, and querying the customer database for targeted groups.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For out of the box CRM use cases, this is a great product and can be hosted in the cloud. For customized implementations, hosting yourself is a better options to control the actual PHP code.

What do you like best about the product?
The software is very customizable, reports are easy to build, and the platform contains tools for sales, marketing, and support teams. We appreciate the intuitive interface and ability to easily query information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updates can be very difficult - custom fields are not always retained, often resulting in long delays between installing the updates. Some of our users also find the Reports to be cumbersome and not intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool with strong CRM functionality to replace our old system. SugarCRM has saved us time and helped shorten our sales pipeline.

SugarCRM is an excellent CRM tool - if you are looking for something that is customizable, flexible, and intuitive, look no further.

We have consolidated our customer databases (which were previously dispersed over several platforms) making it easier for our Customer Services team to do their job.
Good for sales, challenging for marketing

I like the number of features available and their support is really good.

The set up is very confusing and sending email campaigns is complicated and unwieldy
