Miro Boosts Team Brainstorming, But Free Version Limits Projects

  • October 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love brainstorming on Miro and i do it almost everyday . The absence of barriers is fantastic and allows my team and me to accomplish great things together. The available templates help me save a lot of time when preparing for meetings.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only drawback I can mention is that the free version limits you to just three active projects. However, I do understand the reasoning behind this restriction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to visually organize my work, which helps boost my productivity.

Empowers Creative Teaching, Though Some Students Need Time to Adjust

  • October 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about using Miro is the seamless infinite looking whiteboard that gives me the freedom to create interactive lessons as a tutor. It's really easy to create vocabulary cards, grammar charts and use drag and drop features for mind maps. The students instantly love the visual and collaborative learning approach. I can also copy and paste images in the whiteboard instantly which is a great value add.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some students take a bit longer to navigate and find controls and tools needed to help them complete activities on the whiteboard. But it's just an initial learning curve and once they get used to it, it runs pretty smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helped replace traditional paper worksheets with dynamic and engaging digital boards that also made language learning a lot more fun. I can create reusable lesson templates, personalize boards for each student, and track their understanding through collaborative exercises. Class time is more productive because students remain involved and active throughout. It has definitely helped increase student motivation and retention.

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of options on how to visualize different things and helpful ways to create clearer roadmap or other plans. I use it occasionally, but it's been really easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to export content to other systems and sometimes the content just doesn't look great when trying to fit it to the presentation frame.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Often Miro provides a simple way to collaboratively create plans, allowing each meeting attendee to participate at the same time and easily follow what others are contributing with.

Collaborative Efficiency, Minimal Setup Hassle

  • October 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Miro provides the best collaboration functionality compared to other tools we've used, which is incredibly valuable for our distributed team. Its intuitive setup allowed me to get the board up and running easily and share it with most of my team without needing to look at any online help. I appreciate Miro's ability to let us review our entire roadmap in a single place and the feature to work collaboratively, even across different time zones and remotely. It simplifies reprioritizing our roadmap quickly and allows grouping features by themes and other factors. I find the tool’s ability to track comments from team members insightful and the way it abstracts details behind cards very handy. The drag-and-drop sticky notes feature is not only useful but also very pleasing to use, adding to the overall ease of the platform. Additionally, I enjoy Miro's seamless integration with Jira, which enhances our workflow, and the collaborative factor where it is easy to see what others are working on, especially when working simultaneously with people on the same board.
What do you dislike about the product?
I encountered a few issues with Miro, particularly when leaving comments. The process of cutting and pasting doesn't quite look right, which affects the visual presentation of my comments. Additionally, sometimes, when communicating with others inside the comments, the appearance doesn't seem as expected. These small inconsistencies in the interface can be distracting and negatively impact my workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to review our entire roadmap collaboratively, supporting remote teams in different time zones. It simplifies planning, allowing us to easily reprioritize and group features by themes.

The tablet app version of Miro could be better, especially for diagramming workflows. Sometimes I have difficulty selecting shapes, arrows and moving tiles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business and product planning as well as visually communicating ideas

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
So easy to use and easy to share. Completely intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's been commoditized by a lot of other vendors and there are now cheaper versions that do much the same. That said, i'm still paying...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration with customers.

Smooth Setup, Excellent Collaboration, Room for Pricing Improvement

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Miro was a more cost-effective option compared to FigJam, which influenced my decision to choose it for my current needs. The setup process was incredibly easy and intuitive, making the transition smooth. Its intuitive nature strikes me, as everything is straightforward and does not take much time to understand, allowing me to jump into designing and collaborating without a steep learning curve. Miro's collaboration features are definitely a standout aspect for me. They significantly aid in communicating complex ideas and enable seamless communication and collaboration on those ideas, as if they're being put on paper or a board. This capability is crucial for designing sketches of pitch decks and presentations efficiently. Additionally, I find the integration with Trello particularly useful; having the Miro board linked to a Trello card facilitates brainstorming and ideation, which the designer then uses to create a final design. Furthermore, the ability to scroll in and out using just the mouse wheel is something I like about Miro, as it makes navigation simpler, even though it differs from the standard zoom mechanics in other software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the per member pricing structure. It's a common practice among many software platforms, but it doesn't appeal to me. I would prefer a team pricing option where discounts could be applied based on the number of teammates. Additionally, the way Miro handles zooming with the mouse wheel is straightforward, but it's confusing because it differs from the command or option key methods used by many other software tools. Although Miro's method might be simpler and potentially better, it defies user expectations, making it an annoying experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps me communicate complex ideas easily and provides a platform for collaboration on those ideas, similar to using paper or a board.

Excellent Collaboration, But Needs Stability Improvements

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the collaboration features. Using them reminds me of being back in school, participating in a charette or having desk crits around a pin-up board. The platform works well for presentations and project brainstorming, and it also supports live collaboration among consultants on a design team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the snap features in certain tools feel overly sensitive and can be difficult to manage, with lines sometimes snapping to images or boards unexpectedly. Additionally, the software tends to crash occasionally, especially when working with high-resolution or large-sized images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool is great for remote collaboration, particularly when I am working and traveling simultaneously. It makes it easy to bring ideas together smoothly and allows me to keep a record of previous thoughts that could be useful later on. Additionally, it helps me track the progress of my projects.

Great as always, but needs to get on MCPs and resolve basic issues like image upload

  • October 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- visually appealing and super quick and easy to come up with and work through ideas.
- the pasting is excellent, eg from table into stickies or table. Sometimes use miro just to help cajole csv into lines and vice versa
What do you dislike about the product?
- Not everyone at my company uses it. Guest access always is confusing and unclear on whether it's allowed or not
- Not being able to upload large images of web pages. The miro screenshot chrome extension thing stopped working also
- I have used miro.new frequently. When I now search miro in my chrome bar it usually goes here, then I press back and go to the dashboard. However this means I have loads of completely empty miros. If the miro has no changes maybe don't save it (eg if it's completely blank). This is also annoying when I am using my personal free plan (rather than work) and it closes down old boards due to miro.new
- Miro MCP, requested access but still waiting. Can use MCPs for all my other providers and miro has a lot of helpful context Claude would benefit from
- When using the text component in miro rather than a shape, the padding isn't enough around the text if it's got a coloured background. Ideally for me I would be able to use bullet points in a shape (especially rectangle)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product Management* of an initiative through the whole life cycle from ideation (just noting down things) to solution (planning out work and diagramming architecture). This benefits me as it means all the information is in one place.

*We also use for roadmaps but do not use for OKR planning.
