Miro is great for collaboration, with a few improvements that can be made

What do you like best about the product?
1) Ease of Use - It's very easy to learn how to use Miro from a beginner can start making diagrams
2) Collaboration - collaboration functions work very well on Miro. I love how we can all be there at the same time and do meetings, facilitation, etc...
3) Templates - I like how Miro has so many templates based on what you want to do. I don't need to reinvent the wheel on it. I also like how people can contribute to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
1) Switching from the hand to the arrow, I know there is a keyboard shortcut, but I sometimes forget.
2) sometimes it's hard to find boards between different departments (may be the way my org is organized)
3) Sizing in Miro seems to go infinite, but font size has a max of 200 something so adding new items has very small font
4) on the same topic as sizing, it can go infinitely large, but the connectors for the frames, the lines have a max and can look very thin when the sizing is large
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to collaborate with my team and other members on my product.
It allows me to communicate my ideas clearly and efficiently. Templates also save me time.

I find Miro to be a very helpful design and development tool.

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has been a great way for our team to collaborate. It makes sharing work and ideas efficient and easy, and our team has saved valuable time by using Miro throughout our process. It has been easy to onboard new team members and get them running on Miro. I also really enjoy looking back on historical projects and having quick access to that work!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I find challenging sometimes with any platform like Miro is feeling inundated by constant discussion and notifications. But, ultimately, I think it is worth working through for the benefits that we have seen for our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro has helped us to build efficiencies in our process, through real-time collaboration with our internal team as well as customers, development and design documentation, and through the use of planning tools.

Miro is my main everyday tool

  • January 06, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
The capability to collaborate and design remotely everyday with people. The UX is very good. The new AI agent is very great especially for generating sticky notes from a list or a document from a process diagram.
Futhermore people from MIRO company are coming regularly to present new features available.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little bug I have sometimes in my MIRO laptop client (windows). It's like my miro board is loaded but I see no content. But I find a by-pass to avoid it.
If I work with a big MIRO board (full of content), the time to load can take 15s minimum.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company is a remote based company. Thanks to MIRO it's easy to collaborate with people even if we are not in a same room.
A side effect coming with MIRO : In my previous life as architect before the COVID I used to draw again and again on whiteboard a same diagram to explain to stakholders the same thing. Sometimes some details disappered... This way of working has gone and MIRO is my main place to capitalize IS architecture diagrams. No I don't re-draw again and again a same diagram. I enrich again and again the same diagram. It makes me better, more efficient and strengten the architecture to deliver.

Magic for marketing teams

What do you like best about the product?
Working remotely in a team within a creative discipline can be difficult, especially when you and your team are brainstorming and generating visual concepts. With Miro we've been able to have productive and enjoyable brainstorming sessions alone and in a team! I love the feature where you can hide other users inputs so that we can all contribute without impacting each other's ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
From my perspective, there aren't many negatives about Miro. Sometimes I find the "sharing" settings confusing, for example what settings I should have selected for the type of sharing I want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brainstorming and the collection of inspiration

What do you like best about the product?
I use my miro boards for my photography studies sketchbooks. It is a useful platform that makes work load easy and organisable. I originally use to use indesign and that took me a while to get use too. But when I started using miro I opened a board and I started creating my work loads quickly and efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to load on my IPad but that may because of the file size of my work. Which isn't miros fault I don't think .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro makes workload a lot easier to manage.

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is great because it centralizes and visually organizes all my ideas, tasks, and information, making it easier to gain clarity, collaborate with others, and streamlines my workflow— saving me time and boosting both my creativity and productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not so much a dislike but rather more of a learning curve to the increasing tools that are added to the Miro platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro solves the problem of collaboration and project management. In my experience, Miro's tools include real-time editing and commenting features, making it easier for teams to brainstorm and manage tasks together. Also, Miro's tools has helped me consolidate to-dos, deadlines, and project updates in one place, preventing confusion and duplication of efforts. The visual templates that are offered has saved me an enormous amount of time that I would have spent creating similar templates.

Fantastic for Collaboration, Room for Improvement

  • January 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love using Miro primarily for user research planning and workshops because it facilitates collaboration among multiple stakeholders. Its flexibility makes it preferable over tools like Google Draw, and it offers many useful features such as iframe embeds, bulk note-taking, and a new slide deck creator. The Miroverse and forums have been invaluable resources. I appreciate its ability to ease remote workshops and collaborations, serving as an effective communication tool. The ease of collaboration and quick documentation capabilities are compelling aspects of Miro.
What do you dislike about the product?
I experienced challenges with understanding the limits and capabilities of Miro, particularly around sizing and dimensions. Initially, there were issues with glitching boards that resulted in lost work, necessitating the start of new projects. The tool was quite buggy in the beginning. Additionally, the bulk resizing feature has limitations, as the text doesn't seem to adjust in size accordingly. I would also prefer a more dynamic resizing ability, a feature to set board and text sizes, and clearer, customizable tool or setting side panels.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Miro facilitates remote workshops and collaborations, serving as an effective communication tool. It offers ease of collaboration and quick documentation abilities, crucial for user research planning and involving multiple stakeholders.

A facilitators swiss army knife

What do you like best about the product?
As a delivery manager working in a fully remote environment I use Miro daily and have found it to be an indispensable tool for team collaboration and project management. The platform truly shines in its ability to bring teams together, regardless of their physical location. Their extensive template library is a huge time saver and I love how the tool enables anonymity which can help create a safe space for sharing.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the odd occasion where I have to present or want to take diagrams from a board there's still a fair bit of massaging required to get it looking as polished as I would like for these
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ineffective Large-Scale Remote Collaboration: Many tools struggle when numerous participants join a call or online session, leading to disjointed communication. Miro solves this by providing a smooth, responsive platform that maintains performance even with many active users which means we can run bigger sessions on a single board.

It is hard to keep up with industry best practices. The library of templates give me a good starting point when I am thinking about team sessions and means we as a group can experience some of the best of what others have spent time and effort perfecting.

One source of truth for project info: I find Miro boards have more of a "life" than things like confluence pages and serve as better information radiators because they can house so muuch in so many different formats.
