Easy, breezy remote workshop

  • November 20, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use - Available templates saves a lot of time in designing workshop activities. Very intuitive as well
Real-time collaboration - Multiple users can access and co-create at the same time
Great details for host control - 'Hide frames' function allows you to create workshop materials beforehand, but not disclosing too much ahead of time; ' Bring all to me function' allows you to gets everyone attention easily
What do you dislike about the product?
Doesn't work well on all PC - 2 out of 15 participants have difficulties accessing the board/ navigating functions
Some Ux functions - Unless EVERY element is locked. Things just dragged along with the mouse too easily. Have to spend time locking frames, shapes, picture, background...also duplication/ deletion of certain template elements when customizing, can be very tedious
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My work requires me to design and facilitate workshop with internal and external teams. Miro has been a great platform that helps me migrate to a 'virtual workspace' under COVID impact

It's the easiest and best online platform for team collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
You can have brainstorming sessions with your team, or create to complete systems in the same board. It seems that's a never ending board, this lets you have an infinite amount of ideas or iteration in your projects without the necessity of creating a new board.

It also lets add several add-on's or plug in's with so it complements your work in other platforms like Notion, Slack, Google Sheets. An other great advantage for me as an UX Designer, is the easy way to create low fidelity wireframes with Wireframe library, they have everything I need so it's easier to maybe High fidelity wireframes in Figma.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some limitations with the free account, like the timer, some templates and the numbers of members can work in the same board at the same time. At the same time is not as intuitive as I wish it was, I haven't been able to create my own personal board (in my account) and I can't figure out why, I've asked several Miro users and no one has been able to find a solution to my problem. An other thing I have had issues with, is the size of some of the images I want to upload to the boards I collaborate with, most of the time they are too big for Miro to handle.
It is very easy to modify others boards.
Also some new users find it a little bit hard to understand at the beginning and don't find the benefits at first instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration online is way easier, it really substitudes all the posts its used in real life. Also my team work is 100% remote, so it helps us create as a team in a very easy way. All the templates that are in the gallery are super useful, they are very clear and intuitive to fill. Also these templates cover a huge variety of subjects, from the design world with tools like customer journeys, blue print, customer persona, empathy map; business and strategy tools, like the stakeholders map, business model canvas, concept maps, flow charts, etc.
Miro has also had a big influence in the way I work, study and explain ideas to others. I really makes my life easier by having all the tools (and more) I could use in real life but completely online. At my college must of my teachers use it to program their courses, and also for collaboration with us during the course, making it really interactive and I think it makes it easier to learn.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is a very powerful online too for self or collaboration use, I would really recommend you look deep into all the tools that Miro has available for you, it can really help your ideation process, visualize all the alternatives you have, also you can keep a complete documentation of work process of your projects.

Make sure you know all the tools Miro has, and keep up with the updates so you are updated to the newest versions and tools added to the catalog.

It can really be your daily basis work tool either if you are a designer, content creator, business woman, etc... there is no limitations

An essential tool for creative collaboration online

What do you like best about the product?
The highlights of Miro is the wealth of features within the board. There's so much you can do, and it's evident that they've been working with this for some time. It's a very mature product. The ability to trace your colleagues and screen share from within Miro is a great feature, reducing the need to use screen sharing within your conference call applications.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's very little to dislike. The one thing I can think of is that when a board get's very crowded, it can take some time to load. So you need good structure on your boards, and this will never be an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's the perfect tool for remote workshops. But it's also a great tool for the things you don't obviously have any other tool for. A great place to ideate, do retros, collect material for research, or simple a place to quickly visualise an idea or thought.

It's like having a massive virtual team wall to collect and work your ideas

  • November 20, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
I like the infinite canvas and ability Miro provides to quickly collect ideas and thoughts from multiple contributors, working in real-time or asynchronously, and then ( key for me ) the ability to quickly copy and rework that information so you can keep the "raw" input but re-organise, classify, adapt and refine that first capture in multiple ways, somewhere else on the same canvas. I have to add that it is easy to pick up and quickly get people effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
The voting is still not quite there in terms of ease of use but is easily fixable I think.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My use of Miro is largely about providing a way for people to workshop ideas and problems effectively in a fun way whilst working remotely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work on building a library of games, ice breaker exercises which users can do in advance of key workshops so that they can quickly start contributing.

Best tool for shared or individual work for college or the office. Makes life way easier.

What do you like best about the product?
It is very intuitive and thus easy to use. You can easily share your work with your coworkers and get the job done. You can make great graphics and schemes with it. You can organize anything for education, administration, management, etc.
There are a lot of templates to choose from which make it way easier for me to make my mind maps the way i like them most.
The ease with which you can turn your works into PDF's is also a great feature that has made my life way easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I guess its a bummer that the free version only lets you have three documents at once. But its totally affordable and worth the money. I do dislike the fact that the people you want to share your works with must be signed up for Miro as well, sometimes i just work on something and other people don't have Miro accounts and they have to make one if they want to work on it too. There could be like a visitor mode in which you just work through the invitation link and that's it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I make a lot of schemes and graphics for my pre-writing stage and for studying. When i make a mind map with miro it makes everything super easy. I use these mind maps for studying and for writing purposes mostly. But i've found them extremely usefull for presentations too. You can make a presentation out of your mind maps from Miro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will never stop using it.

Miro is the best place to portray your ideas and exploit your creativity

  • November 20, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
I love the templates, the design, the colors and how it helps improve ideas. I also like how diagrams can be easily made. I also really enjoy the post it options because it makes the canvas look colorful and by creating a color code, it can help distribute the sections all along the brainstorming. I really enjoy the fact that it is free and a ton of things can be achieved thanks to it. It is a very user friendly platform that has improved the creativity process of entrepreneurs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't understand it when I first used it but I got it until a teacher taught me. I also do not like the fact that sometimes when I want to move an icon, the whole figures move. Another thing is that sometimes, text is too small by predeterminate, making sometimes a little difficult to read at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving a problem regarding anemia and malnutrition. It has helped me start an extraordinary brainstorming, starting from general sections within the problems and then crumbling it into smaller sections. Diagrams I have made in this platform have also improved interviews and surveys made to validate the solution, the prototype and the problem. It has improved the brainstorming process and teamwork organization. It has helped me define the problems I am trying to solve and create an accurate business model. Miro has improved my experience as an entrepreneur. Thanks to Miro, I have been able to work with my team, making our minds fly, exploiting our creativity and enhancing problem solving through a creative way, with the help of diagrams and templates.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend you to use a template at first, because it can be a little confusing when starting. Use a lot of colors and make codes with them, for example, when brainstorming, all main problems can be of different colors and each subsection within the problems with alike colors to the main ones, maybe in lighter codes.

Fantastic workshop tool for the remote era

  • November 20, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use, and very easy to collaborate on Miro. Having multiple team members working on the same board at the same time is fluid and enjoyable. It has meant we don't need a physical room to conduct our product workshops, and has been a massive help during the covid lockdowns
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited boards on the free plan ;-)

Sometimes a few little issues when there are a lot of people using a board at the same time but it is minor. Not a lot to complain about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem we are solving is collaborating effectively, remotely.

The benefits include, digitisation and access from anywhere to our workshops and artefacts. It is fun to use, it helps prompt your thinking, and encourages creativity

As intuitive as in person

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Responsiveness, you can zoom in or out as much as you can and miro will do everything to make things fit.

Also that you just need to master 3 commands: copy, paste, and undo
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say that sometimes you want to write something in a post it note or move them and suddenly a connector appears, it becomes annoying.

Also when people talks, we prefer to use google meet for audio while facilitating at miro
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Innovation workshops
Gamyfing meetings
Asynchronous collaboration boards
Recommendations to others considering the product:
-Send an in-advance tutorial for new users.
-You can do an asynchronous activity so people get involved before your workshop.
-Leave written instructions -step by step- for facilitator's support.
-"Bring everyone to me " command helps you to call everyone's attention.

The best online, collaborative sofware

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love all the templates - Miro has dozens of them, all clusterized to facilitate searching and selecting. You can also create and save your own template. It has a virtually infinite canvas, it's easy to learn and use, and all the constant updates show me that the company really cares about its users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I have trouble exporting big, heavy frames in vector format. When that happens, I need to try to export in lower resolutions. Besides that, I can't think of any other thing that I end disliking about Miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I usually access Miro for:
- Facilitation
- Team Building
- Problem understanding (using mind maps, and a variety of canvas)
- User Journey Mapping
- Business Model Canvas
