Excellent tool for brainstorming and planning

  • July 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are no limits - both in space and things you can do. There are countless templates that really help when I have no idea where to start.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes it's difficult to switch between the navigation modes. I would also like the option to push multiple stickes to Jira using the integration, and not have to do it one by one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
my team is working from home and brainstorming was very difficult for us. with Miro we are more cooperative and are able to share ideas and track them more easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent tool, I would recommend to anyone.

Dinamic, intuitive and visual. Perfect tool to interact with your team!

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is a tool that revolutionized the management of personal and professional projects. Individually it allows me to organize information visually and in multiple formats at the same time. It's fantastic. As a team, we perform work meetings and User Experience processes, and User Experience research in an efficient and visual way. It is dynamic and intuitive. I really like the possibility of being able to work asynchronously as well. You can see what the other collaborators' actions have been and continue the collective work in progress. Totally recommendable!
What do you dislike about the product?
When using the arrow function, there is always a need to connect one pre-existing element to another. This sometimes messes things up. Many times I want to connect a pre-existing element to an empty field on the board, and I can't do it. I would also like to see more predetermined color and thickness options for the pencil and pen functions. This is because when I want to highlight textual elements especially, I need different colors and thicknesses to differentiate these different types of information to be highlighted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to maintain collective interaction and collaborative work remotely. Everyone is in a home office and yet we still manage to work together dynamically. For synchronous activities, we can work together and see what each other is doing. It is also possible to follow a specific person, which is super helpful. For asynchronous activities, we can work at different times but still collaborate on the common project. When we access the board, it is possible to see what the actions of the other members have been, and this allows us to understand what is new, guiding the continuity of the project in an assuring way.

Simple to use and collaborate

  • July 21, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro to create complex workflows. It has a rich collection of elements that help me create an easily understood workflow. It can be easily shared across the team. We also use Miro for online collaboration. The latency is almost zero even when a large team is working in real-time. Overall, it was of great help to me to running whiteboard sessions for group meetings while everyone was working from home. We use Miro even when I was at the University to have brainstorming sessions for our group projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The export and download option of Miro is not intuitive. There should be an import option where non-miro content could be uploaded. I do not like its pricing model. For e.g. Free plan users can collaborate on 3 of the most recently created boards. Overall, it was of great help to me to running whiteboard sessions for group meetings while everyone was working from home. We use Miro even when I was at the university to have brainstorming sessions for our group projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Online collaboration with the team in doing whiteboard sessions.
2. Create user flows for features in our product.
3. Document architecture diagram.

Easy to Use, Multifunctional, Create your own layout

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the freedom that Miro provides when setting up a project. I can write post-it notes, I can create mind maps, I can doodle and it is all done online with a team. I love that you can download and share the boards too because they look nice in a report, update, or to help clarify a communication issue with someone outside of the initial group. I love that you do not have to have the same template or style of creating a layout as anyone else on your team. Miro allows you the freedom to design it how you see it and allow others to add on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that the free option limits you to 3 boards. I work with several companies for short periods of time and it gets frustrating. As a nonprofit helping other organizations, finding a service that fits the budget and works beautifully like this is near impossible. I wish there was a reasonable process and price for nonprofits. The Miro boards are great to download but as expected if you don't pay for the upgraded version you get blurry, highly compressed versions of your board, which is sad because even for the cheap version one would hope you could at least read the board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that have been solved with Miro are almost limitless with the current growth of my company. The major one we just dealt with was a website overhaul and Miro helped organize the sitemap, helped lay out the template for pages, and helped keep a running tab of completed, in-progress, and need-to-do items. This platform made it beyond easy to see what the sitemap was before and the chaos that it was and allowed us to restructure and see the sitemap for what we needed it to be. It allowed team members to easily change and rearrange various pieces without disturbing the whole structure.

The benefits of a collaborative website that has numerous, easy-to-use tools are otherworldly and that is what Miro has hit upon. The favorite item of the group was the post-it note. It allowed a small note to be left in a clear and separate space. However, the individual comments on selected pieces slowly became the favorite towards the end of the project as it allowed exact attribution to the issue, job well done, or the notification of an update. Another benefit was the ability to download the boards during and after completion. This allowed for tracking/record keeping, it allowed for progress tracking and changes, and it allowed for the concept at the time to be shared with those outside the group.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need an online workspace that allows you the freedom to work how your brain thinks, this is the board for you. If you need absolute structure and predesigned templates I would try the free version first and feel it out. Miro really tries to be an open format and let you decide where to go and what you need but for some, this can be overwhelming. My suggestion is to try Miro with friends or close co-workers first, see how it works for you and your style, and see if it impacts or changes your work habits/flow/time for the better.

Outstanding diagramming & collaboration

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Goldilocks approach to formatting options (not too many, not too few), generally sensible defaults, reasonable performance for a web app, serviceable export capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hitting ‘undo’ causes your selection to be lost, no easy way to embed Figma screens or prototypes if you’re using SSO, consistency of formatting when cutting & pasting from one shape/table cell to another can be spotty, no way to reuse a frame from one board in another other than copying (think Figma’s components), no way to use local fonts, would be nice to have opacity on text & lines, being able to numerically size objects would occasionally be handy (e.g. when distributing a multi-page PDF for printing), could also do with drop shadows on lines, text & shapes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has almost completely replaced OmniGraffle for dawing diagrams like flowcharts, flowcharts, tree maps, journey maps, task flows, etc. We also use it for virtual workshops in the same way we’d use a physical whiteboard, sticky notes, dots, etc. It’s also typically easier to present designs for feedback in a Miro board than in Figma as it’s simpler for colleagues to use. I also use it as a virtual ‘product wall’ where I collect analytics, personas, user research findings, design options, hypotheses, requirements, etc. for a given product/service so team members have all the information they need in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
1. When using it for workshops/co-creation do a basic introduction if any participant hasn’t used it before (possibly in a separate session if most are experienced)
2. For widely shared boards, lock ALL THE THINGS and have users add notes to comment; do not allow others to unlock
3.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's simple to use and designed thinking on the user. It's the most comprehensive and versatile tool to work collaboratively online.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro should work harder to connect people in video calls like Meet of Teams and integrate it into the workflow that now offers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most important, it lets me work in a program for education. That helped me work in class without payment.

Great whiteboarding tool

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has a wide array of suggested templates for whiteboarding. It's really helpful to have those to draw from when creating a new whiteboard for a meeting. I also like the polling feature; it has been a quick and easy tool to use to get additional feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
For certain features, I'd like a wider array of color options or the options to input my own so I could keep it branded to my business. Navigation is not always easy if you have multiple components of a board, though the frame feature helps a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Miro heavily for virtual collaboration; it really helped when we physically couldn't meet together for our annual strategic planning sessions. Additionally, I appreciate that I can have people join the board outside of the meeting to leave feedback or vote; it has helped prioritize our meeting time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Of the virtual whiteboarding tools, Miro has a fun and user-friendly interface. They are constantly updating it with new templates and tips to ensure freshness. I've found it to be a beneficial tool, both for organizing my own thoughts and facilitating workshops.
