Great for remote brainstorming sessions

  • June 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was effortless to get started with Miro as most controls are straightforward. The real-time collaboration features work great and really helped us capture and share ideas with our clients. The graphic tools provided for diagramming are enough for quick documentation during brainstorming sessions. Templates and icons for wireframes also proved very helpful for early prototyping. The presentation mode is excellent for professionally showing results.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to access previous versions of the boards, which meant that we lost some of the older ideas along the way. Arranging the frames on the board during a busy collaboration session is not automatically supported in any way, so you have to do quite a bit of "tidying up" afterward. We couldn't find a way to export only selected frames in pdf, so every time, we were forced to export the whole board and then edit the file ourselves.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro made remote brainstorming and prototyping sessions much more efficient. Moreover, documentation of workshop results has proven easier due to having everything already in a clear digital form (no need to decipher poorly scribbled notes and post-its)!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Worth considering if you hold remote collaboration sessions. Use the free version first, then see if you need a paid plan.

Better than a physical whiteboard even though you are all in the same room

What do you like best about the product?
What impresses me the most is that MIRO is quick to come out with new features that solve any problems you might have. Every time I think there should be a feature for this, I realize that the tool already has it. For instance, we many times have workshops with quite many people on the board. When someone is presenting something, doing a screen share, it's quite distracting when everybody can't sit still and keeps moving their mouse pointers arounds. Looks like a swarm on the screen. Rather than asking people to stop it, you can simply hide other peoples pointers. Voila, elegant way to solve the problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
I know it would help you guys a lot if I had a list of problems that you can work with, improvements that I'd like to see in the product going forward. But I'm actually very happy with it and it's hard to come up with something that would be needed at this point. The new JIRA integration is something I wouldn't have asked for, but it's fantastic that you have it now.
The only thing would be the way you setup your projects and teams. You have teams, where you can have X amount of projects for.
It's hard sometimes to structure all the boards and get them to reflect your own organisation. Like having Teams, with sub-teams for instance. Adding people to MIRO in general and adding them to the teams always requires one and the same persons approval. Would be great to have several admins like you can have in JIRA where several people can do it. A bit problematic when someone is actually too buys to help or even on vacation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great collaboration tool. We use it for Retrospectives, design workshops, team buildings, plannings and many others. It's a very liberal tool which let's you do pretty much whatever you want and super easy for people to get started with. I don't need separate sessions to teach people the tool before they start using it.
We many times use it as documentation sometimes. Where the MIRO board becomes our source of truth rather than Confluence. As it's so much easier to get the layout and look you want in MIRO compared to Confluence, many times we just keep the board we workshopped around as documentation. Not sure if there are, but if there is a way to version control and things to use more like documentation, perhaps that can help with some future business opportunities ;)

Do you miss the physical whiteboard when you are in remote training or workshops? Try Miro!

  • June 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Infinitive whiteboard. +25 people are working simultaneously. Connection with Jira and confluence. Access to edit to all participants without the need to buy a licence for each one. Drag and drop of videos and pictures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The usage of frameworks is not flexible. I have tried using the roadmap framework, but I can not change the text size, for example. It happens with all frameworks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As trainer and coach, I perform workshops and need to work with others with giant whiteboards. We do not have a whiteboard now; then, we use Miro to solve the problem. Other problems we solve are timekeeping, comments, voting, estimating, etc. Miro give the opportunity to make the event interactive and full of life.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you deliver training or workshop and there are participants with no experience with Miro, add an ice breaker exercise in Miro to allow them to understand how to use it.

The Unlimited Whiteboard!

  • June 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Definitely everything! It is an unlimited whiteboard. I use it for sketching, project development, prototype creation, prepare presentations, taking notes everything. It is super easy to use and manage. It is also good for working from home teams, where you can draw or develop everything with your teammates. Collaboration part is the most important part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! It could be a little bit cheaper but it's okay, you've one board where you can use it for everything. Sometimes we face some crashes but then they fix it.
Drawing pencil is not super easy to use it could be developed too
It will be good if we see some integrations with other tools, like Slack, Hubpsot etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- It definitely helps me to be more creative. It also helps you to see all the data on one board so that you can develop your project or presentation properly
-I use it for presentations, I develop all the things at Miro and share my screen while presenting.
-New website prototypes, structures, basically the stages before design teams.
-Taking notes for everything
-Event planning: I draw the venue area and add all the related things for planning, table arrangement etc.
-Collaborative whiteboard: working with my peers to develop projects together
-Mind mapping, great for marketing teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I will absolutely recommend Miro for everyone! It is one of my love brands. I can't think of a regular day without Miro.

Amazing tool for async. lovers and creative managers

  • June 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miró helps us work with teams working remotely, facilitating processes such as retrospectives or brainstorming in an asynchronous way to be efficient and make the most of time. Also, since it's straightforward to use, we have managed to unify information from different departments and roles about a project on a single whiteboard, so we have better visibility of the big picture of a project with many stakeholders involved.
What do you dislike about the product?
We tried video calls within Miró, but it was not satisfactory: we had issues with speed and audio, so we moved to another tool and share screen. Also, aligning and adjusting the spacing for the elements of a whiteboard is complicated since it doesn't show some guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've found some of the main benefits for our business are that we're now able to manage our remote team's ceremonies in a clean, shareable, and creative way and save the results. And we can have many different roles working on the same tool with a low learning curve.

Once the penny drops on how flexible and useful a tool Miro is, it’s hard living without it.

  • June 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
No limit in size, add anything, zooming in and out, even integrates with most popular API's.
What do you dislike about the product?
Browsing through different boards - wish it was more like a jukebox or iTunes, than a filing cabinet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analyzing complex scenarios visually.
Diagrammatically illustrating anything.
