Miro has changed the way my team works

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro gives an unlimited and creative space to store, view, reflect, and create. Our team loves how easy it is to all work together at the same time on the same boards, without the need to share screens (which keeps our computers running smoothly). The endless white board space is addictive, and now it's hard to be refined to PPTs or use any other methods for our team to store data, create overviews, or brainstorm new ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
When working together on the same board, it's still necessary to have a call via Teams to be able to talk to one another. Could be nice if it was possible already to do this in Miro, to require less programs open at once on the computers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are no longer restricted to one slide, or a word document. The format of one endless white board allows us to create amazing, unrestricted overviews, and still have everything in one place for easy reference.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try and you won't be able to work without it any longer

My Miro review

  • July 21, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great design. it’s pleasant to work in Miro boards, the look appeals to users
Flexibility of the usage: it can be used for lots of purposes
Embedded features such as tables, timers, voting mechanisms
Availabity and diversity of free templates, available on Miroverse
Inspiring social media communication, providing useful examples, use cases, user stories
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing policy is not so clear (and quite expensive), there are sometimes double couting of users when they belong to several teams.
Limitation of number of rows in tables is too low for me.
The notification system could be improved (not easy to see all the open comments addressed to me)
Miro is not easy to use without a mouse (don’t rely on your touchpad)
Exports of boards to standard tools (Powerpoint...) could be improved, even if there are some possibilities
Miro can be slow to load for very large boards
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote collaboration on big projects: all the information on a few large visual boards
Smooth workshops with more than 150 participants at the same time
Sprint retrospectives are managed in Miro in an efficient way
Instant remote brainstorming: easy to create a board, share a link and start brainstorming
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Train the new users, schedule a few minutes at the beginning of workshops to onboard newcomers
Define rules of best practices to have a standard way of working
Explore Miroverse templates and follow Miro social media communications; it can be inspiring

Miro help us get communicated and quality deliverables especially when WFH

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro helps us get in touch without being in the same room. The remote whiteboard is perfect for working sessions or just to gather all the ideas in one place. The video chat and integrations are awesome and they should be adding more and improving them. There's no one perfect platform to do everything, but if you can connect all your tools this comes pretty near.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new history feature is useful but a lot of our team members are using the kanban board. That just has to be improved, regarding task tracking, start and end date, and progress of each task. Also people get confused and suddenly they want to do everything in Miro, We still have to make the differentiation between an open workings space, a task manager and a calendar manger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not being in the same room is not a problem anymore, actually is more convenient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it as a blank space and watch the tutorials on Youtube, the quality is amazing and it helps a lot to understand how to use the product.
Try the template library there are huge and a lot of the works can be reused. Also, don't spend a lot of time working on your own, it's is a collaboration platform so it's more fun when a lot of team member is working at the same time.

Try using the video chat feature, is super helpful to see your teamates while working on each board or frame.

The same feeling as when a car door shuts with a really satisfying 'WHHHUMPP'

What do you like best about the product?
I love the seamless syncing - so rock solid. Make a change on your iPhone? Instantly there to see on the laptop. A change on the iPad - bam - straight there on the iPhone. So trustworthy it's really comforting!
What do you dislike about the product?
Truly? The only thing ... the logo. The App icon. Keep confusing it with Spotify, plus it looks kind of cheap and unfinished. Definitely feels like such a good app deserves a better icon!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I map books out and draw mindmaps and basically share my thinking with Miro

Miro is a powerful tool for collaboration, organization, and design

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has a clear and intuitive interface which possible to collaborate with teams with different backgrounds. From business analysts to designers, the interface is straightforward for everyone. Other things that I love in Miro:
1. The ready-to-use templates simplify the process of imagining a workshop or ice-break moment. If you are working with Agile or Scrum this gets even better;
2. The connection with other apps as Jira and Notion get my organization faster;
3. Timer, voting, presentation mode are good functions for workshops in a big team;
4. Copy and paste images from various other platforms is very easy and intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is almost perfect for tech people, but I think there are tools as Chat and Video-chat are not too visible at first sight. I also miss more colors (for post-its!) and geometric shapes to do good templates. I am waiting for new templates, too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro is a good tool to:
1. Provide workshop, brainstorming sessions, agile boards, and fun activities for happy hour;
2. Mapping journeys and product roadmaps;
3. Connect a lot of people in less time and decide more;
4. Connect with other apps to make your personal organization;
5. Work in teams from discovery to delivery of digital products, helping to share ideas in a visual and architected way;
6. It is a bridge to thinking and telling ideas, promoting a safe digital space to share;
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good software and you will not regret it!

Indispensable tool for Remote Productivity Teams & Client Collaboration

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use the Zoho One Platform and I'm loathe to pay for more subscriptions, particularly if it's functionality that we can build or adapt for ourselves somehow. Miro, along with Zoom and a few others, is just indispensable. If you use it and commit to taking advantage of its features, it will prove its worth 10x over what it costs in fees. In a remote world, meetings need to be run-well and engaging and Miro is an incredible tool to make this happen and keep things interesting, focussed and collaborative - with team members and clients alike. As well, if you have a measure-twice, cut-once culture, then you need to be drafting, planning and concepting a LOT. Miro is indispensable here.
What do you dislike about the product?
My ONLY ask: I regularly freeze panes and then forget to unlock when I'm cloning items. Would be handy to have an auto-unlock feature with cloning, so you're not left with stranded items as your copying and pasting with elements. Also, manipulating layers is slightly less ideal than in full-blown vector based Adobe Illustrator. It would be nice to have a "move this item 1 layer back" instead of an all-or-nothing "all back" or "all front" option. Spreadsheet integration could also be reexamined. I find it a bit difficult to work with tables, e.g. columns/rows. Also - imports of excel data into Miro auto-defaults to stickers. This is not bad, but it would be cool to have other options (e.g. if it could default into a table format).

Subscriber admin priveleges need to be improved: I wish, as the OWNER of the product that I could administratively manage all projects, even those created by other members of the team. It's frustrating to have to get an employee who is an admin on a project they created to make small edits. At present, I have to wait for them to rename a project, etc. I should be able to have super-master-admin-master-of-the-universe powers if I'm paying for the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're an accounting firm and we have found Miro to be useful to help map out Charts of Accounts, to specify recommended child-parent heirarchies, to colour code team members and clients and to help us in mapping/concepting across a million other applications. Oh, and you can use it for live video meetings. I also love it for social media management. We queue up all our posts, draft to our hearts content and then we can then integrate Hootsuite, Soho Social or whatever else we're using to put the final content in. A lot of applications have some level of queuing support, but they're not really best used for drafting/development. Miro succeeds in unmatched blending of almost any type of content together in a visually interesting way. Need emojis? Need mind-mapping toolls - its all there. The number of templates is also crazy. Chances are, some organization has a methodology or concept map that can help you with what you're working with. Clients also love looking at something you prepped & made professional for a meeting rather than just your face blabbing on zoom. Overall, awesome app, definitely 5 stars!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to collaborate virtually or run meetings more effiicently and track progress week over week - Miro is your friend. It works seamlessly with a project management tool like monday.com or Zoho Project. You will be blown away by he number of workflows that get better with Miro. But, there is a learning curve, and be willing to watch those training videos and really learn all the use cases. Make sure you train your team to get the full benefits.

Great online collaboration and ideation tool

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
User-friendly virtual collaboration for a huge amount of participants. Best for virtual research and co-creation workshops. Great tool for virtual team building too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Board sharing/invitation could get tricky if you want to keep team/board members to a certain number. The "lock" function can get tricky because only board owners can unlock them and you have to unlock them every time you need a small edit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for design research, co-creation/ideation workshops, research synthesis, and system design thinking. This is a great tool to collaborate virtually and I like to see that how my co-workers have been editing things while I'm away.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The "lock" function can get tricky because only board owners can unlock them and you have to unlock them every time you need a small edit.

Visual freedom for creation

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform allows you to have infinite space for thinking visually and sharing with your peers; analizing and creating becomes easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it contains tons of information, sometimes when opening up some boards loading takes some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating with my team to create and discuss is easier now through the platform remotely than it used to be while sharing the same room without this tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Remember collaborating on a whiteboard? Well, picture it now without the complications of physical mess.

Great for collaborating with your team

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Miro for a year and it is a great tool for collaborating with colleagues. We manage to carry out an activity in half the time by collaborating with several hands, we plan the work and share ideas. We often use live chat to write comments in real time when we are not on call. Templates for creating customer journeys, tables, kanban etc. are also excellent
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I don't like about Miro. My experience with this tool is very positive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Miro we can carry out an activity in half the time because we collaborate with several hands. We are able to organize activities, tasks, follow the progress of projects and keep them updated.

How teleworking becomes simpler

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro enables teleworking teams to be as close as sharing the same office. It's a great and handy tool where its shortcuts and linked apps make lets the creative thinking process flow.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, understanding and getting used to these tools and shortcuts, it's a bit difficult for middle-aged teammates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The team and I have been dealing with a creative design process in which Miro has become our protagonist instrument.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd recommend giving Miro just one chance. That'll be enough to realize it's a tool you may not was looking for but you surely need to take your creative process to another level.
