What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Meltwater is its ability to combine media monitoring, social listening, and analytics in one platform, making it easier for businesses to track brand presence, market trends, and customer engagement efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
One drawback of Meltwater is that its pricing can be quite expensive, especially for smaller businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps address media tracking and social monitoring challenges by centralizing insights in one place. It makes it easier to analyze trends, manage brand reputation, and ultimately save time.

Comprehensive Media & Social Listening with Helpful Support

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater offers a full suite of media and social listening tools. New features are introduced regularly, and the Meltwater team is usually very helpful when I need support.
What do you dislike about the product?
For media relations, the platform doesn’t always have up-to-date contact details, outlet information, or reach numbers for certain outlets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media monitoring for clients, with analysis tools to measure share of voice and other metrics to assist with reporting

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the product is constantly being updated and it's a fast-moving company. Support is available 24/7 and there's a sense from talking to account teams and attending events, that Meltwater has an ambitious culture. It's also an easy-to-use interface. Cision offers almost all the same things - but it's slower to integrate new technology and the people there are slow to respond and less eager.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of transparency in the sales process. My most recent experience with their sales team left me disappointed and distrustful. That wasn't my experience in the past so it was disappointing.

Product-wise, I love that Meltwater is at the cutting edge but the new products are unrefined, buggy, and often useless. Still, I trust that in time they'll be usable but the contrast between the blue sky language int he sales pitch and the reality of using the AI, for example, is jarring. Mira is not very bright.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding campaign performance; understanding brand perception; tracking emerging trends; reporting on all of the aforementioned and, in doing so, demonstrating the value of communications.

Sometimes things are missing when it pulls results

We struggled with calculating share of voice for client brands that are niche, but now we can calculate that fairly accurately

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can easily publish social across multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are features that often are supposed to work and don't, general bugs that make it difficult as a social media manager to do my daily work. Sometimes there are connection errors to random platforms, sometimes native posts don't show up in the "Publish" calendar, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater makes it quick and easy to publish social across platforms and measure the performance of said social. This benefits me by making Meltwater a one-stop shop for nearly everything I need for social media management.

What do you like best about the product?
The AI component of the meltwater platform. It seems to help pull disparate data sets together quickly without the need for more dashboards and filters.

Haven't explored it enough to find the downsides yet.

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to tailor alerts in Meltwater. It makes it easier to get only the alerts I need. The ability to be specific in this way is really beneficial. Also, the initial setup was easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the sentiment can be wrong, and it could use more accuracy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for media monitoring, which helps with brand awareness, competitor awareness, and crisis response.

What do you like best about the product?
What stands out most to me about Meltwater is how it simplifies tracking and organizing information from different media sources in one place. In my work, I occasionally follow industry updates, company announcements, and engineering or manufacturing trends, and earlier this involved checking multiple websites and platforms separately.

With Meltwater, I can monitor relevant topics through a single dashboard and quickly understand what is being discussed without spending extra time searching manually. For instance, when I need to stay updated on industry developments or competitor-related news, the alerts and reporting features make the process much more organized.
I also find the automated reports and real-time notifications helpful because they reduce repetitive monitoring work. Instead of collecting updates manually, the platform already presents the information in a structured format that’s easier to review and share.
Even though the platform includes many capabilities, getting started was fairly straightforward, and basic monitoring tasks were easy to understand after some initial usage.

Overall, it saves time, improves visibility of relevant information, and makes monitoring and reporting much more manageable in day-to-day work.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I’ve noticed is that because the platform handles a very large amount of media and social data, some searches or dashboards can occasionally feel slower to load, especially when working with broader monitoring queries.

I’ve also seen situations where certain smaller or niche articles were not captured immediately in search results, so I sometimes cross-check important updates manually when accuracy is critical.

Another challenge is that the platform has many features and filters, so configuring searches properly takes some initial learning and adjustment to get the most relevant results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One problem it solves for me is reducing the effort required to manually monitor updates from different media and online sources. Earlier, tracking industry-related discussions, company announcements, or trend-related updates meant checking multiple websites and platforms separately, which was time-consuming and inconsistent.

With Meltwater, I can monitor everything in one place and receive alerts or summarized reports automatically. For example, when following engineering, manufacturing, or competitor-related discussions, I can quickly understand what topics are gaining attention without manually searching every source.I found the integrations useful for keeping monitoring and reporting activities connected with existing workflows. For example, integration with communication tools like Slack helps important alerts or updates reach the team quickly without needing to constantly monitor the dashboard manually.
The AI and intelligence capabilities are also useful in simplifying large amounts of information into easier-to-understand insights and reports. Instead of only showing raw data, the platform helps identify patterns, trends, and important discussions more efficiently.

From a productivity and ROI perspective, it saves significant time in monitoring and reporting activities, allowing me to focus more on analysis and decision-making rather than collecting information manually.

The onboarding process was manageable, and once the searches and dashboards were configured properly, the platform became much easier to use as part of regular workflow.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is simplistic and consumer oriented. I appreciate the variety of filters and the array of visual insights that are offered in Explore.
What do you dislike about the product?
The refresh of data for real time monitoring. Oftentimes I’m forced to reload the whole page which means I have to repeat date filters and such.

Results don’t come in for 30 min or so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps uncover and synthesize the most relevant media mentions from the noise.
