Great software, needs more contacts and especially needs more diversity in the beats
What do you like best about the product?
I like how clean everything looks, how easy it is to find things and how fast everything loads.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are not enough reporter beats compared to Cision. When pulling a list, it becomes much harder to drill down into reporters who cover only the pentagon when the broad category is government.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating targeted lists , saving a lot of time on putting together clip reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware of contract timing, can easily get bumped into another billing cycle. Know that if you are looking for reporters who cover the Pentagon or DEA, it will take more time to find than cision
Switching to Meltwater was the best decision for our comms team! We're really happy with it.

The team is super responsive to any issues we have and works quickly to help us find a solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything negative. Everyone has been awesome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're compiling our media reports 10X faster than before and the Newsletter function makes it easy to share relevant articles to the right people.

Do it! The platform is user-friendly and visually appealing and the staff are always eager to find answers to your questions or solutions to your problems. 10/10 recommend.
Love Meltwater
What do you like best about the product?
It's ever presence. There aren't too many products you can use that just run in the background and work, but Meltwater is one of them. I've never needed to make a customer service call, never needed to ask how to use something, it just works. And in a world like today, we just need things to work when we need them!
What do you dislike about the product?
It's so powerful that I don't get to play with all the bells and whistles. If anything, I could be getting MORE out of it. I know they do a great job with instructions throughout the year, but I'd love to attend a sit down event where I could learn more in front of my laptop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It finds all the things I don't already know, and that's always the biggest issue for us, especially related to social media-driven crisis communication.

Easy to find reporters' contact info and build press lists for specific places or issues.

The best way to learn the tool is to get in there and play with it -- then ask for help if you can't figure something out!

I like the access to so many journalists based on beats and articles. I also appreciate the strong support to help learn all of the features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think I know how to do everything but many times I have to look around for a long time to figure out something I've learned before.

I like being able to reach and personalize emails based on specific beats.
Great resource - Needs podcast outreach
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy the user interface makes conducting topic and influencer searches. It's head and shoulders above my experience with Cision and Vocus software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would give my right arm, left toe, 10 eyelashes and an ear for a searchable podcast influencer database. These guys need people to interview. I need to be able to pitch my experts to podcasters. They are in front of one of the biggest demographics for my company, and this demographic does not partake in traditional radio/television/newpaper media.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been able to connect with niche-specific reporters and successfull pitch my CEO on timely topics. Also, it's been great to quantify the reach and impact of our media mentions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater has the best search tool available. The ease of finding the exact influencer for your exact niche or topic is phenomenal. Their customer service also can't be beat. I have used Cision and Vocus in the past, and my experience with Meltwater is hands-down the best.
Helpful, User-Friendly, and Effective
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to see the impact reports on articles involving clients and setting up dashboards that cover all social media activity surrounding relevant topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the process of adding contacts and organizing them into lists. I feel like the process could be made easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love being able to see the real impact that my clients' work is making and keeping up with the most popular conversations in relevant areas.

Check out the impact reports! They are super helpful to those in the media industry.

What do you like best about the product?
I'm my estimation the best part of the Meltwater ecosystem is the ability to receive alerts as stories are published. This is critical as issues develop in the news. Working in a regulated industry it is critical that we keep abreast of developments in legislation and with our competition.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Meltwater included a larger number of included dashboards. A welcome change would be the ability to create a dashboard for every search or set of alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The greatest benefit that we have solved for is quantifying the reach of a story. This is crucial to communicating the value of earned media.

What do you like best about the product?
User friendly and you don't a la carte me to death!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes they miss the smaller pubs in my market, but when told to add them, it's never an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Demonstrating value and reach is huge; working with the team to create better searches is very helpful and really cuts down on the amount of manual work I have to do within the system.

I love the ease of using the keyword search.

The limited dashboards and widget function

I can easily track a return on investment in terms of the potential to reach a targeted audience and gathering metrics to determine if the efforts put into a campaign paid off.
