Powerful product; exemplary support

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is an extremely powerful product, but it is set up in such a way that it feels simple and approachable. The customer support is out of this world. Working with Meltwater has allowed our organization to streamline and improve many of our p.r. and communications practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to enter your password every time you use the app. I know it seems simple, but it's enough of a barrier to enter that it keeps me from using the app as much as I would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crises prevention: we see our name in the news before anyone else sees it; social media simplification: we can monitor and engage with our seven channels in one simple platform; reporting: marketing/pr/social media can be obscure and Meltwater's tools help us translate the work we do to the stakeholders who care
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize your account manager. This tool is more powerful than you have time to realize and they can help shed light on the benefits

What do you like best about the product?
Amazing customer service, lovethe partnership with TV Eyes to capture all our coverage
What do you dislike about the product?
The system doesn't let us "select all" to send press releases, sometimes the way the system captures tv coverage is hard to track if they are live shots not packaged stories.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They work with us on every issue we have to try to tailor it to us.

What do you like best about the product?
The dashboard gives you all the info you need on a visual and customizable format
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some limitations depending on your region regarding the news clipping you can actually capture
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying on top of trending topics that are relevant for my organization has been easier with the tool

Amazing tool

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can monitor social and media with one click of a button, create visual dashboards and set up reports that get sent to my leadership. I can easily look up an article during a crisis and determine its reach and social shares to determine if it is indeed something that needs full attention. I also really like the ability to follow certain users on social and get live alerts when they post content that relates to my industry, this makes it easy to catch things happening on social that I would otherwise miss. There have been many times where we have been able to get ahead of a bad tweet.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that there is a separate login portal for the engage tool and the monitoring tool, wish it was just one login.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we are able to monitor the reach of our earned and generated media. We are also able to push out social content via the engage tool and tag our content so that we can pull metrics and report to our board of directors the messages that we actively pushed as they relate to our overall goals and objectives.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try and compare it to your other monitoring efforts, I guarantee you will find it comprehensive and time-saving.

What do you like best about the product?
The level of detail provided on individual journalists and publications
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very complicated to use and the reporting options are too limited, with no real flexibility to create custom reports on your own.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Access to media. The only real benefit is that it's a good supplement to the other media database we use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to really explore it before committing. Try to get a trial run so you can play with it yourself vs. only with the sales person. What seems easy during the demos is far less so without someone holding your hand.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater provides detailed data on reach. In comparison with other vendors, Meltwater does a great job at giving detailed reach numbers per placement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Very pricey in comparison with others. It also appears a little outdated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track the reach of all of our media placements, this helps us track progress and determine which news sources host better placements.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This Is a great product for media monitoring. It does take a little getting used to.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a software that allows you to monitor news and social media mentions while compiling comprehensive results that can be easily shared with clients and stakeholders. It is a great PR tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard is a little complicated to navigate sometimes with different tabs and metrics available.

It is really helpful for clients that have a lot of coverage. For clients with occasional coverage, you are better off with a Google News search.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Meltwater’s simple formatting, ability to accurately capture social media hits, and targeted results for “competitor” institutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the same coverage results turn up for several days in a row.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Although we used Meltwater primarily to track our own media coverage, it was extremely helpful in providing a roundup of similar organizations’ PR.
